The Pentades

This list isn't here anywhere and should be. It's the earliest form known to me of what became the zodiac, dating from nearly 5,000 years ago. We only have half the sky - the half that was above the horizon at the heliacal rising of Sirius - but much was already known and catalogued. Perhaps the most important feature is that we can already see the emergence of a zodiac with constellations exactly 30° wide - not wandering diversely sized constellations. [However, the stars that seem to be Aquarius are strangely located.] Below, the zodiacal longitude listed is the point (in the zodiac as we now know it) that each pentade began (meaning x°00' of the sign), followed by a translation of its Egyptian name (when known) and some notes about what it represented in the sky in today's terms.

NOTE: When "2" is used, I think it's just a device to signal a plural. Thus, "2 sons" just means "sons," or "2 spirits" just means "spirits [more than one]."

Re: The Pentades

I've been studying the Quintiles recently (in Natal, period charts, synastry & transits), and this prompted the insight/awareness of:
the Pentades of the Zodiac forming the 72 pentagrams in space
(-- each thus being a five-pointed-star, with the "red-circle" in the middle which is us here on Terra Solaris ...).

This may be the key for the evolution of our knowledge about the Zodiac, moving out of the enclosure-loop of perceiving the 12 segments of this starry-space-zone as "defined-by" the planets:

-- this specific Pentagram-based geometrical configuration shows each sign as being a sex-partite :), or tripartite-"realm" (depending on: whether the Pentades are considered in pairs, or we consider each 30-degrees segment to have 6 of them) --- and with each such (within a sign) having a specific relationship (direct-connection) to a group of other four; so, there's: the "member-components" of each grouping as factor, and the "where-in-sequence", i.e. this for example (probably easiest practical approach) from perspective of progression-in-time as the Sol/planets "move/s through" the zodiac - and there are *specific stars* within each such Pentade-space.
