Lombok (Indonesian) earthquakes

Post by Jim Eshelman »

August 5, 2018, 11:46:37 UT, 8S17'14'', 116E27'06'' (near Loloan, Lombok, Indonesia - impact on Bali), magnitude 6.9
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5_August_ ... earthquake

Death toll 563, with over 1,000 injured from this quake and its sequelae. I'm not sure if this should get more attention or the 6.4 quake July 29 (earlier in the series, but fewer fatalities and overall lesser impact).

The charts frankly suck! (The CapQ, as a stand-alone, is fine.)

Year: Capsolar (Dormant.) Moon-Mercury Moon-Saturn.
Year: Cansolar (Dormant.)
Bridge (None.)

Quarter: Arisolar {-1}
Jupiter sq. MC (1°10')
Venus more widely foreground
-- Venus-Jupiter op, 3°01'
Moon-Saturn sq. (0°47' in mundo)

Month: Caplunar (Dormant.)

Week: Arilunar {-2}
Mercury sq. MC (1°2')
Sun & Jupiter more widely angular
-- Sun-Jupiter sq. (1°11' in mundo)

Day: Capsolar Quotidian {+2}
p Asc sq. p Mars 1°30', s Mars 1°51'

Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits {-2}
p MC op. s Sun 0°55'

So far, the death toll is 91 (it has been predictably climbing). I'm not sure if this should get more attention of the 6.4 quake July 29 (earlier in the series, but fewer fatalities and overall lesser impact).
The original quake in the series occurred July 28, 2018, 22:47:37 UT, 8S16'26'', 116E29'27''.

These charts are much better! (This is the first quake, and in some ways would be the one always studied except the later one was much worse.)

Year: Capsolar (Dormant.) Moon-Mercury Moon-Saturn.
Year: Cansolar (Dormant.)

The initial assessment of this event was quite poor, though the CapQ did come through by itself at least with Mars square Ascendant (but at the outer edge of its orb, hardly stunning).

However, I asked Steve to confirm calculation of PSSI progression of the Capsolar, Cansolar, and Arisolar and we hit a bonanza. I'm still not convinced we have a workable, reliable tool in the PSSI because it has been difficult to find sufficient examples that are stunning. (They are so few that they might just be occurring by chance.) But to have a three-for-three hit on this particular event is sobering.

PSSI Capsolar
23°05' Sag p Asc (Apparent Rate)
24°02' Sag p Asc (Mean Rate)
24°18' Sag s Pluto
24°29' Sag t Pluto

PSSI Cansolar
5°23' Cap p MC (Apparent Rate)
5°27' Cap p MC (Mean Rate)
6°56' Cap t Mars
7°23' Ari p Asc (Apparent Rate)
7°34' Ari t Uranus

PSSI Arisolar
20°11' Vir p Asc (Mean Rate)
20°45' Sag p Mars
21°43' Pis p Moon
22°17' Vir p Asc (Apparent Rate)

Mean Rate Average Orb: 16', 27', 89', 26', 34' = 0°38'
Apparent Rate Average Orb: 73', 84', 93', 11', 92' = 0°56'
