2022 Capsolar for Los Angeles

Post by Jim Eshelman » Fri Jan 14, 2022 5:01 pm

As Steve pointed out a while back, the incoming Capsolar for Los Angeles is quite severe. Here is the breakdown (using the exact quarters of my home):

Code: Select all

Pl Longitude Lat Speed RA Decl Azi Alt PVL Ang G
Mo 29Ta50'16" 02N07 +11°50' 84°20' 25N27 175°00' +81°21' 270°45' 100% F
Ma 28Sc14'27" 00S18 + 0°43' 262°40' 23S34 4°11' -79°28' 89°13' 100% F
Ju 08Aq25'43" 00S59 + 0°13' 335°45' 11S09 270°27' -20°52' 159°08' 53%
Ne 25Aq55'18" 01S08 + 0°01' 352°09' 04S37 266°56' - 3°42' 176°17' 96% F
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mo op Ma 01°32' 90% M
Ma sq Ne 02°19' 90%
Moon on MC -0°45'
Mars on IC +0°47'
Neptune more widely foreground
-- Mo/Ma on meridian 0°01'
-- -- -- Moon-Mars op. 1°32' M
-- Moon-Neptune sq. 1°55' PVP
-- Mars-Neptune sq. 2°19'
-- Jupiter-Neptune sq. 2°39' PVP

Jupiter 0°27' from Vertex gives us little relief because it doesn't form any useful close aspects. (Planets on the Vertex in ingresses have no particular meaning, just the special mundane aspects they form.)

At the suggestion of various people on the forum, I'm going to look for those weeks that have the most threatening lunar ingresses. There are several with malefics close to angles.

Breaking out the quarters of the year, the Arisolar is dormant, so the Capsolar simply flows through. There is greater concern for the Cansolar, though, which has Saturn 0°41' from WP. (The Libsolar is dormant, so the Cansolar flows through.) The worst period of the year, then, will be July 17 to January 14.

Severe, difficult lunar ingresses make up about one-third of the year. Several are bad but the very worst is probably the one on my birthday, Oct 10 and the one following it.

CAPLUNAR Jan 31. Saturn Dsc 0°59', Uranus MC 1°17' (square 2°16', with foreground Sun aspecting both)

Canlunar Feb 13. Sun Dsc 0°28', Saturn WP-a 0°39

Liblunar Feb 21. Saturn Dsc 1°48', Uranus MC 2°26' (sq 0°38' M)

Liblunar Apr 16. Saturn on MC 0°59'

CAPLUNAR Apr 22. Mars on Dsc 0°10'

Liblunar May 13. Saturn IC 0°56', Uranus Dsc 2°01' (sq 2°57'; foreground Sun also tied in)

CAPLUNAR May 19. Neptune on Nadir 1°17' conj. (1°24') a barely foreground Mars

CAPLUNAR Jun 16. Neptune on MC 2°58', Sun on EP-a 1°08', sq. 0°00'

Canlunar Jul 27. Mars WP 0°57', Uranus WP-a 0°38', Mercury MC 2°47', Me-Ma-Ur

Liblunar Aug 3. Saturn EP-a 0°33', Sun Dsc 0°15', non-angular Mars sq. Saturn 2°37'

Canlunar Sep 20. Saturn Dsc 0°09', Uranus Zenith 0°34', sq. 0°50'

Arilunar Oct 10. Mars MC 0°14', Neptune Dsc 0°34', Mars sq. Neptune 0°20' mundo

Canlunar Oct 17. Neptune Asc 0°13', Mercury MC 0°43', Mars Dsc 1°19', Me-Ma 0°36' M, Ma-Ne 1°16'

Canlunar Nov 13. Mars Asc 0°56', Neptune Zenith 1°24', Ma-Ne 1°19'

Liblunar Dec 18. Saturn Asc 2°49' (Mars IC 3°52')

CAPLUNAR Dec 24. Saturn MC 2°39' (Mars Asc 4°53'), Mars-Saturn sq. 2°13' M

FWIW, looking quickly at Biden's "outstanding incidents' 1st harmonic SLR's for 2022, there is only one, Sept 13 2022. The "oustanding incident" planetary symbolism is Saturn-Uranus which according to COSI is a "tension" aspect with a negative psychological effect as "unusual emotional tenison or strain." SLR Mars is tightly conjunct his Natal Saturn which is a "destruction" type effect. Fagan taught an inner planet (Mars) tightly/partile 0,90,180 aspected to a natal planet in SLR was very important.

So, this SLR for Biden is highlighting "tension" associated with a "destructive" principle with 'sudden unexpected" Uranus on his SLR DSC with his Natal Mars rising on the SLR ASC. Does this mean there will be a destructive earthquake on the West Coast? Of course not, it could mean any thing as a sitting President. But, if I lived in California, I would be keenly on the look out for any unusual pre-sesmic activity in Sept.

And, just to show the range of events possible - The first news of this morning was that the LA area (and West Coast more generally) was under a tsunami warning due to a Pacific underwater volcano erupting. The warning was withdrawn, I think, and there was no impact - but the symbolism was perfect.

It's easy enough to see the exact areas Mars crosses, but we then have a range of over 150 miles either side of the line where there is no practical difference in effect. That means, in practice, that the whole state is affected. We can certainly expect a horrible fire season (worse than even recent years) and the risk of earthquake certainly is higher. I'm expecting, though, primarily human events. If this were earlier in the pandemic, the symbolism is perfect for higher, deadlier contagion outbreaks (and that still could happen, but seems less likely now; or it could be a different disease). I think most likely are massive civil unrest, riots, arson, much like the early '90s riots.

Mars IC is exact at the longitude of Oxnard and Camarillo (just west of the longitude of Bakersfield). Mars sq. Asc run right through the city of Santa Barbara. And, of course, both of these lines run most of the length of the state.

We're leaving town about a week after the mid-May period, so surely we won't be going anywhere that prior week. My May 11 Demi-SLR is positive; however, Marion's May 10 SLR is bad. Using my chart as a checkpoint, things won't be TOO bad for her, but Saturn on her Saturn on Descendant in mundane square to Sun on MC will be a hard fortnight. There IS transiting Mars going across my Moon exactly that day (and it's Marion's local Asc), but under a very positive solar and a more softly positive lunar; and she has Venus conjunct her Jupiter. - So we'll probably be in the midst and the mix of something pretty severe.

I just added a paragraph on the solar ingresses for LA in the post above:

The Capsolar, of course, is capable of exerting it's own influence, but the combination shows things to be worse after July 17.

As Danica said, Neptune transits Capsolar angles much of the year. Specifically, it is square MC Feb 18 until the next Capsolar, on WP-a from now through May 15 and then 8/11 onward, and on Descendant 3/4-8/28. This includes the entire period after the Cansolar sets up.

That makes the target lunar ingresses these:
Canlunar Jul 27. Mars WP 0°57', Uranus WP-a 0°38', Mercury MC 2°47', Me-Ma-Ur

Liblunar Aug 3. Saturn EP-a 0°33', Sun Dsc 0°15', non-angular Mars sq. Saturn 2°37'

Canlunar Sep 20. Saturn Dsc 0°09', Uranus Zenith 0°34', sq. 0°50'

Arilunar Oct 10. Mars MC 0°14', Neptune Dsc 0°34', Mars sq. Neptune 0°20' mundo

Canlunar Oct 17. Neptune Asc 0°13', Mercury MC 0°43', Mars Dsc 1°19', Me-Ma 0°36' M, Ma-Ne 1°16'

Canlunar Nov 13. Mars Asc 0°56', Neptune Zenith 1°24', Ma-Ne 1°19'

Liblunar Dec 18. Saturn Asc 2°49' (Mars IC 3°52')

CAPLUNAR Dec 24. Saturn MC 2°39' (Mars Asc 4°53'), Mars-Saturn sq. 2°13' M

Checking CapQ crossings and transits to Capsolar angles, we seem to be left with these (though I might miss more complicated patterns):

It is interesting that both Moon and Mars of this master chart of the year are in their signs of dignity, Moon in Taurus and Mars in Scorpio.
Interesting, yes, though signs have never demonstrated themselves to be important in the ingresses. The one place they do seem to be though (emphasis on seem) is in dignities and debilities. I've noticed many cases where the exaltation and fall degrees were critical factors in the meaning of an ingress, and have often thought that dignity or debility by sign was influential.

If this isn't just wishful thinking when I see it in charts, it might be a good sign for Moon in Taurus, although Mars in Scorpio, when it has stood out, has been by making Mars more severe and destructive.

Another thing that seems important, but hasn't been studied systematically, is fixed stars on ingress angles. For LA, there are several, but not ones that have had their meanings well tracked. With RAMC 83°31', we have:
82°57' North Galactic Pole rising
83°45' Deneb setting
83°59' Rasalhague IC

Or, taking these in PV longitude,

North Galactic Pole 0°27' past Asc
Rasalhague 0°40' before IC
Deneb 0°12 before Dsc
Polaris 0°42' past MC

I'm expecting fires or maybe worse. At the moment, there's nothing on the horizon to suggest public outcry (riots), but the current news does lead one to suspect newly spiking coronavirus numbers (though the hospitalizations have remained way down).

I'm not sure what Sedna on ZN-a means. Are you taking Zenith position in right ascension? There isn't such an angle (though I suppose you could contrive one); I'm curious how you calculated it. - In any case, LA is clearly Mars, which probably means fire and/or blood. San Francisco is especially Saturn and has strong Mars, so probably is the more vulnerable overall.

Will this be a big enough deal to show at national levels? The Washington Caplunar is dormant so the Liblunar flows through and primarily highlights presidential/governmental matters. For the dormant Caplunar, I did forecast, "Fire season may be starting much earlier than usual in California."

By Shane's request that I spec the October 16 LA vs. Charlotte football game, I was reminded of the above, which I summarized thus:
Jim Eshelman wrote:
Sat Jan 15, 2022 1:34 pm
Arilunar Oct 10. Mars MC 0°14', Neptune Dsc 0°34', Mars sq. Neptune 0°20' mundo
Mars or Neptune CapQ crossings Oct 13-16 (more or less nonstop)
t Mars co. Capsolar MC 10/15
This is next week. It all looks quite like the worst day in the history of Los Angeles. I doubt it has anything to do with losing a minor football game. It's more in the form of riots, fires, looting, violence. However, on April 14 I wrote, "I'm expecting fires or maybe worse. At the moment, there's nothing on the horizon to suggest public outcry (riots), but the current news does lead one to suspect newly spiking coronavirus numbers (though the hospitalizations have remained way down)." We could, of course, have high disease numbers, but current news doesn't expect that. (Monkeypox suddenly exploding open would be more like it.)

Here's how I se the breakdown, using central coordinates for Los Angeles (though this could, of course, be surrounding areas or outside the city altogether):

Capsolar (Year)
Mars on IC 0°50'
Moon on Z 0°47'
Neptune on Dsc 3°46'
-- Moon-Mars op 1°32' M
-- Mars-Neptune sq 2°19'

Cansolar (Quarter)
Saturn on WP 0°52'
Uranus more widely angular
-- Saturn-Uranus sq 1°27'

Caplunar (Month): (Silent.) Moon-Pluto.

Arilunar (Week)
(This occurs October 10, 5:07 AM PDT)
Mars on MC 0°18'
Neptune on WP 0°10'
Jupiter widely foreground
-- Mars-Neptune sq 0°20' M
Moon-Pluto 1°04'

Bridge Oct 10-17
t Neptune on Capsolar Dsc & WP all week
t Mars sq CanQ Moon until 10/10, 8 AM
t Mars co Capsolar MC all week (exact 10/15, 10 AM
t Mars co Capsolar Moon Oct 14, 8 AM until end

Based on this, the critical times begin Oct 14 about 8 AM and perhaps peak the next morning. Since the October 17 Canlunar (11:45 AM) ALSO has Mars (1°16') and Neptune (0°09') on angles, we can't say that it ends when the Arilunar ends.

Other Relevant Transits
t Neptune sq Capsolar Mars all week, exact Oct 14, noon
t Mars op Capsolar Mars all week until Oct 16, 9 AM

Thus, we probably have narrowed the worst time to October 14, 8 AM until October 16, 9 AM. Please note that t Mars squares Cansolar Neptune (an added touch) October 16 about 8 AM.

Quotidians
Let's just bracket the stat and stop windows with CapQ angles:

October 14, 8 AM PDT
25°55' Aqu - s Neptune
27°06' Aqu - CapQ MC
28°15' Aqu - t Neptune
28°14' Sco - s Mars
28°20' Tau - CapQ EP-a
28°50' Tau - t Mars
29°50' Tau - s Moon
-------------------------
13°45' Gem - CapQ Asc

October 16, 9 AM
28°12' Aqu - t Neptune
28°14' Sco - s Mars
29°14' Tau - t Mars
29°18' Aqu - CapQ MC
29°50' Tau - s Moon
0°11' Gem - CapQ EP-a
---------------------------
15°31' Gem - CapQ As
16°46' Gem - t Moon

From these angles, we get multiple reinforcements that something is starting on the morning of October 14 and lasting a couple of days (and perhaps continuing until the Venus Q crossing four days after that). We only have the expiring Mars-Mars transits to mark the end, though Mars does continue to conjoin Capsolar Moon for weeks - yes, weeks! - because it will turn retrograde October 31 while still within 1° orb.

We can repeat this process with the Cansolar Quotidian.

October 14, 8 AM PDT
22°49' Can - CanQ MC
22°52' Ari - t Uranus
23°17' Ari - s Uranus
23°36' Cap - t Saturn

October 16, 9 AM
23°17' Ari - s Uranus
23°34' Cap - t Saturn
24°52' Can - CanQ MC

The exact Saturn crossing, therefore, is October 15 about 2 AM, though its orb is plus or minus two days.

So there you have it: The week ahead. If this is right, then it's next Friday through Sunday.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing gigantic and harmful is happening in or near LA right now.

Earlier in the week we had a BIG blow-out with much Mars-Neptune symbolism (just after the Arilunar came in). Three city council members, including its president, were caught on tape last year having intense conversations with strongly racist remarks and intents. This has led already to the resignation of the council president from the presidency and the council, and other resignations. There was nearly a riot at a city council meeting. The emotional volatility and tumbling political careers dominated news for several days and still will have other repercussions. (Two virtual city council meetings are being held this weekend, so this could still be the big story.)

The mayor's race, of course, is heating up as it enters the home stretch. I'm a heavy supporter of Karen Bass (whom I know personally), she has a significant lead, and also got smacked around this week a bit.

There is insane Dodgers-mania right now: https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2 ... ous-season

Unless there is a new riot today, a big fire or explosion, a discovery that we learn about next week that monkeypox just exploded like crazy, North Korea decides to drop a nuke on Koreatown LA, or some other extreme event, the big wave probably has passed and won't break on the beach of this weekend.

Something I think needs mentioning because it runs contrary to all the predictions we all made earlier this year:

California had the mildest, least destructive fire season in years during 2022. There have been no significant natural disasters. LA Times summarized,
Despite months of warnings fueled by extreme heat and drought-desiccated conditions, California's deadly fire season ended with remarkably little area burned, with just 362,403 acres scorched in 2022, compared with more than 2.5 million acres the year prior.
Being credited are "massive investments in forest health and resilience projects and an expansion of the state's firefighting fleet." And good luck.

Possibly more good luck than all the planning, which actually makes it of greater interest to astrologers (long ago I called us "luck scientists"). n this case, the luck was well-timed and well-placed rain just as dryness was maximizing and a heat spiks were expected.

Golly, if astrologers can't get well-timed and well-placed right, what are we doing?

The 2022 fires were deadlier, though - nine civilian deaths instead of last year's three firefighter deaths - and, at times, much more destructive (for example, the enormous damage in and around Weed). Across the state, even though there were fewer fires running shorter times, the number of homes destroyed was much larger than in recent years. This even though this year's biggest fire was only 8% the size of last year's biggest fire.

One documented Capsolar consequence besides the (primarily) political ones so far: LA County is now the highest occurrence of flu cases in the nation - record breaking - and nearly the highest Covid-19 surge anywhere. As I anticipated, Thanksgiving week threw these numbers into orbit.

Upland is in San Bernardino county, but still influenced by events in LA. I'm now the only resident of my ALF who didn't catch the omicron variant of COVID, vaccination status didn't seem to affect it at all (except for me--I got the omicron booster at my dialysis clinic just in time), though it did affect disease severity. However, even the unvaxxed had no hospitalizations or deaths, just worse symptoms. Most but not all staff were infected as well (similarly, no deaths or hospitalizations).

Another violent outcome of this year's Capsolar locally:
https://www.latimes.com/california/stor ... _id=746993
LATimes wrote:L.A. traffic deaths rose in 2022, surpassing 300 fatalities for first time in two decades
Traffic deaths climbed again in Los Angeles last year, with 300 people killed on city streets - the highest number in at least two decades, said city officials. L.A.'s streets remain particularly deadly for pedestrians and bicyclists, with 159 people killed in accidents involving pedestrians and motorists, a 19% rise compared with 2021, and 20 people killed in accidents involving bicyclists and motorists, an 11% rise.
The quoted citizen response that this is "frustrating and infuriating" is pure Neptune + Mars.
