USA Mundane Forecast
for the four weeks beginning MAY 2, 2021

If you are unfamiliar with the methods and interpretations of Sidereal mundane astrology, please see my free book Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link can be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) For standard interpretations, see Chapter 8 of the current (17th) Edition.

USA Mundane Forecast §§§ The Biden Report §§§ Other Locations §§§ Ingress Summaries §§§ Transits to Capsolar Planets §§§ Outer Planet Sign Transits

LONG-TERM (Solar Ingresses)
Capsolar effective Jan 14, 2021 to Jan 14, 2022. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Jan 13-Feb 9 forecast.)
  • More severe than 2020, but a year of action instead of paralysis.
  • Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn continues to define conditions, emphasizing autonomous survival and solitary self-sufficiency.
  • MARS square SATURN (0°34', exactly angular). Harsh, hateful, hurtful, destructive hardship, e.g., deadly violence, fires, explosions, financial crises. Fosters hate + conflict arising from feeling powerless, shamed, diminished: Primitives competing for basic survival amidst widespread hardship.
  • JUPITER square URANUS (0°42'). Recovery and salvation through scientific advances and social revolution. Collective optimism anticipating good change. Broadly, boldly liberal government or political activism: Ideological rebellion, remapping the larger social contract, liberal social agendas (demanding wider horizons, expanded and diversified opportunity, civil liberties). Invention, futurism, new tech (or tech vision), and “good science” engage imagination. (Uncommon for disasters except floods.)
  • Activity and activism, rarely gentle or well-behaved.
  • Mars-Uranus. Explosive: physical or psychological "bombshells," surprise attack, sudden action, "lightning war" (blitzkrieg). Moon-Uranus. Swiftly changing circumstances requiring rapid adaptation and response. Moon-Mars. A broad sense of emergency: Violence, fire, disaster, damage, assassination (or other severe crisis for leaders).
  • Economic difficulties: Economic crisis and threatened markets (Jupiter to Mars-Saturn). Shifting conditions in banking and economic management (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn). The upside: We surely need to consume significant resources for economic recovery.
  • Structural investment. Rebuilding economic foundations and physical infrastructure.
  • Spinning up the wheels of industry, economic expansion: Greater industry and productivity (from the same aspects).
  • Mars-Jupiter is stormy (including destructive weather). Forward momentum, expansive, with an enterprising spirit useful to recovery. Post-pandemic era of opportunity for new entrepreneurs, renewed entrepreneurial spirit, readily available capital investment.
Arisolar (Apr 14)
Effective Apr 14 to Oct 18. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Apr 5-May 2 forecast.)
  • Jupiter on Dsc (0°38'), sq. Moon (1°37'). The best six months of the year. Increased prosperity overall: Return to work, a stabilizing economy, increased optimism and sense of well-being. Communities feel stronger, more secure. More good news than bad across the six months.
  • Saturn on WP (1°17). Survival challenges continue concurrent with emerging good news. Seriously rough times overlap the sense that things are improving. "Getting better" is gradual.
  • Saturn-Uranus square. Independence vs. restriction and liberal vs. conservative polarization. Long in restrictive lockdown conditions, people want to get out, to get back to their prior lives despite (or defying) the risks. Freedom vs. safety, the "old way" and "new way." Political opposition and gridlock threaten when we can least afford them.
MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)

START to May 26: Pluto Neptune Uranus Saturn. Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto transit Capsolar angles. In the Cansolar, Neptune transits progressed Moon and, until 5/11, CanQ Moon also squares ingress Neptune. In an uncertain time, with much doubt, insecurity, and dread overflowing the banks and frequent flashbacks of 2020's apocalyptic feel, something new breaks through that shakes things up. This doesn't necessarily make things calmer or more secure, but it does start to dislodge stuck circumstances. Tensions between safety vs. liberty return. Political tensions threaten renewed gridlock. Any movement is a good sign.

May 27 to END: Neptune Uranus Saturn. Pluto leaves orb. Conditions are similar but with the pressure lifted and sense of immediate existential crisis eased.

Summaries of longer-term trends from outer planet sign transits are here.

SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingresses)

Caplunar (May 2)
Effective May 2-29 and especially the first two weeks, May 2-16. This should be a positive month with positive breakthroughs and progress with Mercury conjunct Venus and Sun conjunct Uranus. Mercury is 0°23' below Ascendant (and square Jupiter); Venus is 0°56' above Ascendant; their midpoint is 0°16' from the angle; and they are in nearly-partile conjunction. Sun conjoins Uranus 0°27', more widely foreground.

Mercury is strong and beautifully supported by aspects from two benefics. Mercury-Venus means happy news media and good press. Typical events include diplomacy, negotiations, and treaties, especially agreements of peace (especially because of the added Mercury-Jupiter square). Events commonly center on an appreciation of form and artistic design. All such things should flourish this month (which might include smooth logistics as in the process of delivering medical supplies nationwide).

Sun-Uranus, in this climate, likely means a breakthrough. (It always means something startling if not explosive.) Liberty and release are key ideas. Roadblocks are overcome and stuck things break loose and start moving. There will still be speed bumps to overcome and some foot-dragging from conservatives, as non-foreground Saturn squares Sun-Uranus, but the general tone of the month is upbeat and successful.

Elsewhere in the country, the Sun-Saturn-Uranus angularity intersects Moon and Pluto in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee, through Georgia, and down through Florida, with Sun-Saturn angular on the longer curve through Milwaukee, Indianapolis, near Atlanta, to Jacksonville.

Arilunar (May 9)
The Arilunar is dormant. However, coastal California enjoys a beautiful Moon-Venus (adding Uranus near Santa Barbara). Coastal South Carolina has a Mars-Neptune intersection suggesting panic-stirring violence, which might be from early season storms (or, of course, could be human caused).

Canlunar (May 16)
Effective May 16 to June 5. Moon opposes Pluto within 0°44' in mundo with both planets square Midheaven (Pluto 0°20', Moon 1°21'). These three weeks mark a turning point both in current major issues and in larger matters that have been in transition for a few years: It likely will more strongly ignite the chief issues of Pluto in Capricorn.

In general, Moon-Pluto aspects - which have been in nearly all lunar ingresses for two years - signal events that stun our sensibilities and halt the mind with their intensity, marking unprecedented conditions and irrevocable shifts. These are easily seen week by week, even when that glaring Moon-Pluto characteristic isn't mentioned in the forecast. For the current three weeks, though, we can expect these characteristics to be especially obvious.

One type of event common for both Moon-Pluto aspects and their angularity are uprisings and revolts of the people - strong uprising of mass-mind erupting into defiant collective action (and, often, effort by governments to suppress them). Given simultaneous strong Saturn and Uranus angularities (see the Bridge), we likely will see an increase in protests and other collective, defiant raising of voices for these three weeks.

Liblunar (May 23)
The Liblunar is dormant.

The Biden Report

Post by Jim Eshelman » Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:47 pm

SIDEREAL LUNAR RETURN (May 9)
Effective May 8 to June 6. With natal Moon 1°00' from IC, transiting Mars sets (1°31'), half a degree from square Moon (mundane). Transiting Pluto is 1°38' from EP opposition natal Jupiter, also by half a degree. This chart is threatening, creates a sense of emergency, and may expose the president to physical harm. If not, then it exposes him to other kinds of assault. Inflammation is an obvious keyword of the time.

Moon-Mars is the astrological center of the threat. I feel I have to mention that this can be an aspect of assassination (though most times it is not nearly so severe or dramatic). So many astrological indicators remain severe and loss-laden that it is hard to filter out this particular possibility from the continuing national crisis, but I should mention that solar arc directions are especially acute in the U.S. natal chart right now: Directed Moon squares natal Pluto (07' applying) and directed Mars conjoins natal Moon (16' separating).

Normally, Mars transiting Moon on a return chart angle means that circumstances arouse an inflamed emotional response, inciting irritation, anger, or quarrels. One is driven, feeling strong, competent, and productive. The environment seems threatening, harsh, and challenging, primed for things to go wrong; others seem critical, threatening, and accusatory. Sickness or other physical harm is common, from cuts and bruises to fever. Pluto, concurrently angular, suggests this aspect may have a stronger impact than usual - that something in these conditions fundamentally alters President Biden's life conditions.

Angular Pluto opposes natal Jupiter, as it has for the whole of his presidency. This always redefines (or brings major shifts in) one's status, finances, or reputation. Usually these are positive and elevating, though, in a time of attack, they act as an assault on one's status. Most likely, this early in the presidency, Pluto-Jupiter will mean he has the dignity and standing to resist personal or ideological assaults.

Non-foreground aspects are mixed, similarly showing conflict but predominantly showing him prevailing with great dignity and support. In a mix of ecliptical and mundane aspects, transiting Saturn squares his Mars (19') and opposes his Pluto (36'); yet, transiting Jupiter squares his Sun (55'), Venus (05'), and Mercury (05').

In terms of both attacks and battling, Vice President Harris' Sidereal Lunar Return the same day also has transiting Mars angular - exactly on MC (0°45') instead of setting.

SIDEREAL DEMI-LUNAR RETURN (May 24)
Effective May 23 to June 6. Transiting Neptune is most angular (square MC 1°55'). Transiting Venus and Jupiter are about 5° on one side of angles and Mercury 5° on the other side. Thus, Venus squares Jupiter (23' mundo) and the Mercury/Venus midpoint is 0°03' from IC; but the closest aspect is Mercury square Neptune (0°01' mundo).

This Neptune-dominant blending of Mercury-Neptune and Venus-Jupiter could signify a vacation: A month after his first 100 days, President Biden likely needs a break. If the prior two weeks brought sickness or injury, this could mean a brief convalescence. In any case, it appears relaxing.

Venus-Jupiter is a pleasurable aspect, usually social and bringing esteem, happiness, enjoyment, celebration, good luck, ease, and the feeling that life is good. Love and friendship prosper. The aspect usually protects against serious harm. Mercury-Neptune has many negative sides (e.g., confusion, disorientation, embarrassment, deception - or a Biden habit of blurting out the wrong words) but, as a companion of Venus-Jupiter is more likely a mark of intentional mindlessness - relaxing - with perhaps some new subject of enthrallment.

Geographic areas centered on map lines have a roughly 150-200 mile leeway (3°) for strong effects. For these mappings of planetary energies, see standard interpretations in Chapter 8 of Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link to the free current edition can always be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) Readers may wish to consider all planet lines and intersections against the standard interpretations.

Transits to Capsolar Planets

Post by Jim Eshelman » Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:49 pm

Transits to Capsolar planets are important identifiers for locales where the 'natal' planet was angular in the Capsolar, or where it spins to a CapQ angle at the time of the aspect.

t Uranus sq. Capsolar Mercury START to 5/14

t Mars op. Capsolar Venus 5/4-5/8

Outer planet sign transits

Post by Jim Eshelman » Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:49 pm

Pluto in Capricorn (2021-2038)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2475&p=33906#p33904
Harsher, struggling, dystopian: people doubt they will regain guarantees of safety or security from violence, economic crisis, or cultural breakdown. Autonomous self-sufficiency, struggle for survival. Need to preserve and restore survivability of the planet. Shortages of land, secure living space, and privacy (territorial conflicts). Hunger and dwelling insecurity. People determining anew how they want to be governed. Control vs. being controlled. Increased social isolation and focus on survivalism (anticipating breakdown of society or survivability of the world with depleting stability and resources). Intensified tensions between individual survival vs. connected wider community, and between uplifted and controlling classes vs. the debased and controlled classes. Breakdown of old structures and outmoded patterns. Bedrock financial institutions are challenged and reassessed. New economies emerge, including a structural reconceiving of work, jobs, employment, and earnings. Anything father-themed comes under attacked (and retaliates). Ancient grievances and resentments renewed. Society's relationship to aging and the aged will necessarily change. Revolution in pharmacology.

Neptune in Aquarius (2009-2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=388
Suppressed or diffused social progressiveness, squashed rebellions, deranged concepts of liberty, all setting the stage for a future conflict or breakthrough after the transit is over. Imagined new vistas and possibilities without current capacity to reach or manage them. Roused socialist-leaning liberalism. Failure of universalism, futurism, or true enlightenment to flourish. Shortage of dispassionate clarity, fostered ignorance.

This transit reflects living in a time when most people feel like we are living in a science fiction wonderland, "imagining the inconceivable." Change happens so fast, technical progress accelerating far beyond any vision prior generations had to the 21st century (provided it doesn't involve transportation). One aspect of this is increased complexity with life changing faster than neurology can grasp, manage, and keep up. It has fostered technological surveillance and loss of privacy.

Uranus in Aries (2017-2025)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=390&p=2560#p2560
A volatile time politically. Issues of economics, government, and accelerated armament. Great challenges to the stability of existing alliances: Acute polarization splits former allies (individuals, social groups, or nations) along new axes. Widespread dissatisfaction fuels repudiation of historic closely held views and values. Each such era, while people are passing through it, feels like a transitions between a concluding old cycle and an opening new cycle.

An unyielding, unremitting sense of emergency exists, then autocratic governance increases. Extraordinary autocratic power is yielded (voluntarily granted) to national leaders, who acquire increasing dominion of economic and social issues. Armament, safety, going one's way alone without the encumbrances of alliances... these win out over the demand for personal liberty and social equality. The masses seem more comfortable with an authoritarian father figure to "make everything OK." Absent a state of war, there me be a suspension of checks and balances on autocracy normal to martial law.

Increased polarization and struggle between opposing extremes - each historic period has its own example, whether it be arising fascism vs. socialism (or political elements that, if more extreme, would have emerged as overtly fascist or socialist, extremism of right vs. left), opposing views on slavery, Catholic vs. Protestant wars, etc. Economics (especially trade) are unstable, in a precarious balance. Economics policies become more nationalistic and autistic, increasingly protective, to defend against trade inequities and competition imbalances. Extreme unrest in economically hurting populations.

Saturn in Capricorn (Jan 2020 - Jan 2023)
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3344#p28419
Individual and political struggles for survival, autonomy, and self-sufficiency. Land & space: Shortages of land and secure space, redefining boundaries; territorial acquisitions and annexations, mineral rights, mining conflicts; walls, embargoes, spatial segregation, splitting historically separate countries into autonomous nations. Earth & water crises: Ecological concerns regarding climate change; land- and water-based retaliations by the Earth against destabilizing climate change; volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, no-warning fire outbreaks; water and land rights and conservation. Hunger, food-security, and dwelling issues including crop failures and famine; further crumbling of farming as a viable livelihood; hunger may be weaponized (or may be addressed aggressively). Earth-mindful rebellion religions thrive, including renewal and empowerment of paganism. Major finance developments: Vast financial institutional restructuring and management, especially favoring capitalism. Changes in how we collectively control money and commerce including bedrock foundations, controls, and financial restructuring; institutions aimed at money security are created or strengthened; long-standing economic hardship and social disenfranchisement boil over. Fear: Focus on how we manage and respond to it. Disabilities and misfortune draw focus: "Inferiority" (so-called) more visible; disability and genetic bigotry; widespread civil liberties conflicts and civil rights resistance activism. Relief from the arts and laughter.

The only news I got on Biden while away was that people were upset he took a couple of vacation days in the middle of the week to celebrate his wife's birthday.
