Greek train crash [Transportation]

Post by Jim Eshelman »

February 28, 2023, 11:21 PM EET, near Larissa, Greece 39N50'54", 22E31'00"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempi_train_crash

At least 44 people are dead and 85 others injured from the head-on collision of a passenger train and an oncoming freight train near Larissa, Greece 235 miles north of Athens. (50 to 60 people are still missing so, given the fiery explosion of cars, I expect casualties to climb.) Temperatures inside one of the cars reached 2,370° F.

Both trains were described as "completely destroyed." "Multiple cars derailed and at least three burst into flames" (Yahoo). About 350 passengers were on the passenger train.

The location is in Greece, in the Larissa region, in the Templi municipality, near the village of Evangelismos. (Ironically, the village name means "good news.")

Greece's transport minister has resigned and the responsible stationmaster was arrested. No news reports are calling this a record-breaking deadly event, but I can't find a record of a Greek train accident with a higher death toll. (The Corinth crash in 1968 killed 34.)

The charts are OK (adequate) without being exciting until the day charts slam it home. Transits to the Capsolar will zeroed in and the CanQ sealed the day (even though the CapQ sucked). I wish Mercury were more involved, though - it's essentially absent whereas it normally makes a strong appearance in vehicle disasters. - The Bridge is a +3 for the explosion, fire, and death, though I wish Mercury were there to make it perfect.

Year: Capsolar {0 or +1}
(This MIGHT deserve +1 because Venus-Uranus is a specific aspect showing for fiery explosions. I don't rush to praise the chart yet, though.)
Venus on MC 0°26'
Uranus on EP 0°49'
Mars on Asc 3°30'
-- Venus-Uranus sq 0°34'
Moon-Pluto sq 1°50'

Bridge {+3}
t Pluto sq Capsolar Moon 2/10-7/28
t Uranus sq Capsolar MC 1/15-4/19
t Mars sq Cansolar Moon 2/25-3/2
Event window: Feb 25 to Mar 2

Month: Caplunar {+1}
(Uranus for explosion and collision. I wish the Mercury were more involved.)
Uranus on WP 1°48'
Mercury more widely foreground
Moon-Pluto co 2°56' M

Week: Arilunar {0 or +1}
(Not a loud chart and certainly doesn't scream "train wreck." Neptune for the human error, Sun for major government involvement, but barely deserves +1.)
Sun on N 0°40'
Neptune on IC 3°04'
Moon-Pluto sq 1°46' M

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits {-2 / +2 = +2}
(The CapQ is horrible, but transits to the Capsolar more than make up for it.)
p MC co s Jupiter 0°55'
----------------------------
t Pluto sq s Moon 0°28'
t Uranus sq s MC 0°15'
-- t Uranus sq s Venus 0°00'
t Sun sq s Asc 0°31'

Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits
p MC sq t Saturn 0°14'
p EP-a op s Saturn 0°08'
-------------------------------
t Mars sq s Moon 0°20'

This had a serious impact in Athens (the transportation minister resigned). Does this show better or different as a national or government?

The charts turns out much the same because they are at the same longitude. The difference in Athens is slightly sharper but perhaps only for distinctly government matters. The locale has narrow orbs for the final timing.

Year: Capsolar {0 or +1}
Venus on MC 1°38'
Uranus on EP 0°49'
Mars on Asc 3°23'
Uranus more widely angular
-- Venus-Uranus sq 0°34'
-- Venus-Mars sq 1°44' M
Moon-Pluto sq 1°50'

Bridge {+3}
t Pluto sq Capsolar Moon 2/10-7/28
t Uranus sq Capsolar MC 2/2-5/10
t Mars sq Cansolar Moon 2/25-3/2
Event window: Feb 25 to Mar 2

Month: Caplunar {+2}
(Uranus is a little closer and Mercury gets clearly involved.)
Uranus on WP 0°36'
Mercury on N 1°08'
Moon-Pluto co 2°54' M

Week: Arilunar {+1}
(The government embarrassment shows; and this could also reflect the general emotional tone, the human error, etc. At the very least, it's a bad week inside the Caplunar period)
Neptune on IC 1°32'
Sun widely foreground

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits {-2 / +2 = +2}
(The horribly unfitting CapQ continues since they are the same longitude; but similarly the transits to Capsolar hold up.)
p MC co s Jupiter 0°24'
----------------------------
t Pluto sq s Moon 0°28'
t Uranus sq s MC 1°28'
-- t Uranus sq s Venus 0°00'
t Sun sq s Asc 0°39'

Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits {+3}
p MC sq t Saturn 0°55'
p EP-a op s Saturn 1°20'
-------------------------------
t Mars sq s Moon 0°20'
