SLR Brother's birth & medical emergency

Post by Jim Eshelman »

My oldest brother was born two and a half years after me, on April 3, 1957. (I'm the eldest of five.) I don't know what the immediate effect on my psyche was, but psychologists generally find this to be a traumatic, life-shifting event in most young lives. Additionally, he had an immediate medical emergency that required he be rushed, in an ambulance, to a hospital an hour away in South Bend, and I rode along in the back of the ambulance.

In general, it was evidently a gripping event. It wasn't entirely a harsh one, since Jupiter was crossing my Ascendant and EP, but, if not traumatic, it was at least... gripping.

My SLR for the occasion occurred March 29, 1957, and a quick glance shows Ascendant 29°10' Cancer and Pluto 4°10' Leo. Knowing that Pluto, in those days, rose a few degrees earlier than its longitude, I figured it was closer to Ascendant that it looked, so I did a quick check.

Closer indeed! Pluto was 0°00' from Ascendant! (It was a small town. There was not 0°01' of longitude difference in the whole town, and this drama all occurred in the same hospital where I was born 30 months earlier.)

The 8th house focus of the chart is quite interesting, but that's a side issue at best. The main reason for posting this is that Pluto!

Par-excellent symbolism for the 'traumatic' event.
