Last winter I was thinking I needed a hip replacement because my left hip hurt so much. But then Spring came and it stopped hurting.
This morning I was fine. I found some stuff in the refrigerator that needed to go and just made it out to meet the trash truck at the curb while they were picking up the bag I'd put out last night. I let the cats out, let them right back in (they are not fond of wind and cold - we had our first real frost last night, will have our first killing frost tonight and are supposed to get maybe some snow flurries this afternoon), and sat down with a cup of coffee about 9:45 to check email and stuff.
I stood up a little before 10:30 and felt like somebody had jabbed an ice pick into my hipbone. I thought maybe I'd sat wrong and tried to walk it off. (Ever tried to walk with an ice pick in your hip bone? I don't recommend it.) The pain is so bad it's given me an upset stomach, which is really bad because the bathrooms are upstairs or downstairs from here. I'm going to see if lying down will help because sitting down, sitting in a different chair, standing and walking don't.
I looked to see if there was anything in transits or progressions, but honestly, I hurt too much. At least the cats are in and fed. I had stuff to do today!

Transits for starters...

t Pluto sq. r Neptune +28' - long-term, of course, but (to keep it simple) shifting underling reality and confronting pet delusions.

t Mars conj. r Mercury +20'. There it is! Pain from motion. You shouldn't have moved today (cheap shot at humor). All sorts of likely meanings, including (especially) nerve irritation - something seriously pinched, probably.

t Venus conj. r Neptune -9'. Not sure of the exact significance of this - you may know as the day goes on. It's a fast transit, but seems a significant one, especially with the concurrent (long-term) Pluto square.

Checking transits, I notice we're two months past your Solar Return and about three weeks past your Lunar Return (in the Demi phase), so I'll check those next.


Your Solar Return...

...has nothing overly obvious EXCEPT that SSR Moon at 8°02' Sagittarius squares your natal Mercury... which means that transiting Mars today (which conjoins your Mercury) is simultaneously square SSR Moon. It was only 0°04' wide at 10:30. There's the pain, further sign of irritation and inflammation, etc.


Your Lunar Return...

Nothing of interest, except te interesting coincidence that its MC is the same (within about a degree) as your SSR MC.

Your Demi-SLR mostly just shows something attention-grabbing, without being too specific: Sun exactly on EP, Moon rising. There is an exact foreground Sun-Uranus opposition and, sure, this was a surprise and all that, but (absent an actual accident) this doesn't feel right for the event. The only hint I see in the right direction is that your natal Neptune is pretty close to Ascendant (squared by Pluto) and this only fits if (within the next week or less) you need actual convalescent time (or get insanely good drugs).

I laid down with aspirin and a couple of very concerned cats (Hey you with the opposable thumbs! Are you sick? Who is going to do our bidding? Hey!) things shifted and the pain settled into an aching back, which is not uncommon and I have ways to deal with. I suspect the chair I was sitting in is the problem. It needs it's springs retied and I didn't realize it's gone from needs some work to gut job. I put a bunch of books in it to remind me not to sit there till I can move it out to the garage to languish till I get around to retying those springs.

Progressed Moon-Saturn in three weeks. Maybe I can use it to lose a few pounds.

I've seen a few people going through surgeries under Mars and Saturn periods; those under the Mars period seemed to have more cuts, stitches and blood loss, while those under the Saturn period seemed to take a longer time to recover from the surgery or had to go through another surgery because of some fault in the surgery. Not to frighten, after all this is just a very small anecdotal observation, but I'm a little apprehensive of course, naturally...

But definitely, if you believe you have to go through the surgery, please do. Better than having the pain worsened for sure.

FWIW I didn't say three week, I said a month and a half. That's more like six weeks. (It was an estimate, I didn't calculate exactly when it was exact.)

and, of course, I don't want to urge unwanted surgery on you. My concern is that, if you don't "use up" the progression for something that would be predictably unpleasant, it might express as a fall or weather-stirred major pain.

Maybe a doctor's opinion isn't such a bad idea.

FWIW I didn't say three week, I said a month and a half.

A month and a half is three equal pieces of a month. That's where I got the 3. I don't know as I'd call that dyslexia. My mind sometimes goes off on it's own path.

I don't think my hip actually needs replacement. I just saw the doctor the beginning of this month, so I'm not sure what I'd see him about so soon. But I will keep it in mind. And I had my flu shot, although that's always a possibility anyway.

It looks like that progression will come into orb Nov 14th, exact about December 10th and moves out of orb January 5th. I'll watch out for ice. It's nice to know somebody cares.
