Pearl Harbor & 9/11 Charts

Post by Jim Eshelman »

There are remarkable connections between the Pearl Harbor and 9/11 charts. It is nearly as if one were a natal to which the other were transits. There are a couple of possible theories for this. (1) Pearl Harbor really is a "radical" (root) chart with a life of its own, to which the 9/11 attack brought transits. (2) Or the shared degrees are highly important in some other chart, such as the U.S. natal chart.

The Pearl Harbor attack began December 7, 1941, 7:48 AM HST, at Pearl Harbor Naval Station, Hawaii. The 9/11 attack began September 11, 2001, 8:46 AM EDT at the World Trade Center complex in New York City.

Here is a tabulation, treating Pearl Harbor as the natal, 9/11 as the transits:

t Neptune 11°35' Capricorn
r Pluto 11°39' Cancer

t Saturn 20°00' Taurus
r Moon 4°20' Cancer

t Jupiter 16°50' Gemini [on WP 16°49' Gem]
r EP 17°45' Sagittarius

t Mars rises 8°14' Sagittarius [Long 6°41' Sag]
r Asc 8°46' Sagittarius

t Mars 6°41' Sagittarius
r Neptune 5°47' Virgo

t Mercury 19°32' Virgo
t Asc 19°35' Virgo
r MC 19°52' Virgo

t MC 21°56' Gemini
r Mars 21°37' Pisces

Not partile, but perhaps interesting for Option 2 above:

t Saturn 20°00' Taurus
r Sun 21°20' Scorpio

I think you will agree that these are remarkably numerous connections, and all of the right type.

Do these identified common locations have any commonality with a primary candidate for the U.S. natal chart? Indeed they do.

Starting with the July 4, 1776, 12:14:42 PM LMT, Philadelphia, PA chart (including its angles relocated to Washington, DC). Three of these hit.

t Mercury 19°32' Virgo
t Asc 19°35' Virgo
r MC 19°52' Virgo
US Local Asc 20°31' Virgo

t MC 21°56' Gemini
r Mars 21°37' Pisces
US Sun 21°31' Gemini
US Asc 21°55' Virgo
US Local MC 22°14' Gemini

t Saturn 20°00' Taurus
r Sun 21°20' Scorpio
US Pluto 5°56' Capricorn

The middle of these three is obviously the most interesting, though I find all of them interesting.

Next, let's consider the so-called Boyd chart for the declaration of war on England. This chart is calculated for July 6, 1775, 11:00 AM LMT, Philadelphia, PA.

t Mars rises 8°14' Sagittarius
r Asc 8°46' Sagittarius
US MC 7°53' Gemini

t Mars 6°41' Sagittarius
r Neptune 5°47' Virgo
US Local MC 6°10' Gemini
US Local Asc 6°26' Virgo

t Mercury 19°32' Virgo
t Asc 19°35' Virgo
r MC 19°52' Virgo
US Venus 4°38' Leo

t MC 21°56' Gemini
r Mars 21°37' Pisces
US Sun 22°40' Gemini [not partile to Sun]

There are not so many but, if we were only going to pick one set, it would be the Mars transits at the top. I'm not sure the second Mars set (at the bottom) counts, and the Mercury-Venus in the middle is quite wrong. Interesting, but less persuasive, I think.

The widely accepted time for the adoption of the U.S. Constitution is September 17, 1787, 11:29 AM LMT, Philadelphia, PA. Anything here?

Actually, no. Not a one.

Finally, we can check to see if there is something else at these degrees that might give them independent importance. The range of this is theoretically large but, mostly, I'm thinking of things like fixed stars, with the usual issue of whether they should be examined ecliptically or mundanely. (I'll check both, so far as possible.)

We find very little. The geocentric planetary nodes are independently interesting as usual, but don't bind together the two events. (Finding Mars only 0°01' from its own node for 9/11 was worth thee whole effort; but finding Sun on Venus' node for Pearl Harbor is disenchanting.)

This leaves us with only a possible ecliptical fixed star hit from Alpheratz (a Andromedae, but anciently the navel of Pegasus, then later the head of Andromeda) or Rukbat (a Sagittarii, The Knee).

If Ptolemy understood ALPHERATZ as part of Pegasus (I think he did), then he characterized it as of the nature of Mars and Mercury, which is perfect! If he understood it as part of Andromeda (I think he didn't), then he said it resembles Venus, which is exactly the opposite. Manilius gave a similar character to Pegasus in general, summarized here: http://solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=50& ... 501#p10501

It isn't quite clear to me how Ptolemy was identifying RUKBAT, since it is neither in the arrow, the bow, the forehead, the cloak and back, the feet, or the tail. (It's the knee.)

t Saturn 20°00' Taurus
r Moon 4°20' Cancer
-- Saturn NNode 3°25' Cancer

t Mars 6°41' Sagittarius
-- Mars NNode 6°42'
r Neptune 5°47' Virgo

t Mercury 19°32' Virgo
t Asc 19°35' Virgo
r MC 19°52' Virgo
ALPHERATZ 19°34' Pisces

t MC 21°56' Gemini
r Mars 21°37' Pisces
RUKBAT 21°54' Sagittarius

t Saturn 20°00' Taurus
r Sun 21°20' Scorpio

Of all things examined, the strongest, most striking connection is to the Declaration of Independence chart. There are, however, several small lessons to be pulled from these interesting connections.
