Moon-Sun aspects
PRINCIPLE: Desire, psychic vitality, instincts serve ego+purpose, importance as an adaptation
MOON-SUN
Energetic, dynamic, terrific drive, forceful. Psychic vitality, a mental-emotional attitude biased toward success. “At home” with power. Intense desire in whatever they undertake. High vitality (unless the luminaries are afflicted). Sexual desires also particularly strong, passionate, though often narcissistic. Possible vanity, self-exaltation, and obstinacy.
Notebook #93 observations: (TRINE/SEXTILE) Energetic, involved; a natural gravitation to a place of importance (one could almost say, to a parental role). Seems to feel left out (within a given formal or informal group) if not in such a role, though most of them would deny this. Very service oriented through their wanting to be involved and active.
CONJ: William McKinley
OPP/SQR: John Q. Adams, Andrew Jackson, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush

Jupiter Sets at Dawn observations wrote:Something I've noticed with Sun opposing Moon people - unless it's pointed out to them, they don't notice other people also have opinions and ideas. Even if they're not narcissistic, they're very much inner focused, and will simply steamroller over any one else, or appear to listen, but then steamroller over anyone else. The only facts they accept are the ones they agree with.
While they give the impression of being happy and outgoing, these people don't get along well with people who "stand up to them" and they view sex as all about them, ignoring their partner's desire or pleasure. They want what they want, and if someone else benefits, hey don't say they never gave you anything. Life partners are expected to be desirable to others, smart, successful, and willing to alter plans, life decisions and walk a step behind.

STATISTICS wrote:Second highest (13-to-1 odds) for astrologers (Eshelman)
TP Davis calles Sun-Moon blends (or equivalent) "a fundamental requisite for an assault." Actual aspect occurred in 84% of her sample (the remaining 16% were somewhat vague "equivalencies," questionable because of their reliance on the Tropical zodiac).
Waxing sextile very common for eminent, successful people (Bradley)

Sun-Mercury aspects
PRINCIPLE: Ego & intellect, identity framed by ideas, purposeful planning
SUN-MERCURY
Resourceful, knack for organization, likely will do well in the business world, effectively self-expressive. One’s ideas are (unconsciously?) equated with the ego, so altering an opinion may feel like compromising oneself. Intellectual pride, stubbornness. Strong need to identify oneself with rationality, to affirm one’s sanity and reasonableness.
FURTHER NOTES
I no longer accept Grant Lewi’s view that Sun-Mercury confers an especially stern grip on sanity or "hitching post to normalcy” that protects reason. My files contain a few Sun-Mercury examples where the individual went completely over the edge (some of my most dramatic examples). Others (primarily Rim luminaries) push the edge of sanity. -– I believe that what is present is a strong need to identify with rationality. If other chart pressures are too strong, this hold eventually will break. Otherwise, we have an extremely Mercurial individual. They need to be able to look themselves in the mirror every morning and say, "I am sane, aren't I!"

Fagan & Firebrace wrote:These natives will be slim, boyish in build, highly strung, restless, garrulous, travelling a good deal and inclined to business generally. They will be the worrying kind and excel at mathematics or calculations.
STATISTICS wrote:Uncommon for rape victims (29%) - only 21% of those murdered had this aspect (Davis). I suspect that resourcefulness, having one's wits about oneself, etc. connected to the finding.
In employment start charts (Quellas), all of the few Sun-Mercury charts were ranked as poor employees. (Overplayed ego side of communication.)

Sun-Venus aspects
PRINCIPLE: Identity framed by affections; ideal of beauty
SUN-VENUS
Charming, gentle, fine companions. Strong sense of friendship and natural affection. Graceful. Marked aesthetic appreciation (if not artistic talents). Most comfortable in marriage or similar relationship. (A little vain?)

Bradley AA 10/73 wrote:It is often aid that Sun conjunct Venus is conducive to narcissism (over-fondness for oneself to put it mildly) and, in women, to nymphomania but such expressions would be extremes. Its key meaning, taken alone, is that the social awarenesses and romantic imageries of the native are part and parcel of one's self-consciousness, leading to an idealization of Love that can never be satisfied by mere human beings. Such people may be best off uninvolved in banal matrimony.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:The native will have a pleasing appearance, be graceful in his movements, gentle in speech, and usually loved by all. He is in love with beauty and the arts and is a favorite of the fair sex when a male.

Sun-Mars aspects
PRINCIPLE: Male essence, heroic ideal, identity linked to power
SUN-MARS
Action, drive, accomplishment, vitality, courage. Restless, forthright, direct (perhaps hasty, impatient, temperamental, low frustration tolerance). Strong physical aggression (for business, sex, etc.) – women especially are sexually voracious. Industrious, instinctively leads or commands, thus often promoted.
Notebook #93 observations: (TRINE/SEXTILE) Moody. Stubbornly (though often silently) prideful. Broodingly temperamental.

GARTH ALLEN notes wrote:...medicine for the soul in which the aggressive compulsions of the planet Mars are dominant is, simply, action. Sun-Mars people can successfully attack a world of personal woe by smashing things, slamming the door, walking around the block a few times, or busying themselves with work... When troubled, they "take it out" on their environment, which includes their spouses and bosses, rather than themselves... Sun-Mars individuals are normally those who "expect trouble" in the routine of living, and are temperamentally armored against its consequences..."

STATISTICS wrote:Early mortalities (Paul Choisnard)
Infrequent in suicide maps (Bradley) - Yet common in maps of murderers (Bradley), This implies weak frustration tolerance as a basic trait. (Basic MMPI Scale 4 type.) Under sufficient provocation, more likely to kill someone else than themselves.
Common in the maps of 99 heads of state (Eshelman)
Apparently a major indicator in the charts of rape victims (Davis) - appeared in 77% of sample. Davis says it is "among the strongest significators." It showed for 82% of the survivors and 71% of those murdered (not a paltry difference) so, while it can lead one into danger, it does seem more survival prone. (Cf. the suicide statistics above.)

Sun-Jupiter aspects
IDENTITY: Royal, blessed, identity linked to aspiration & recognition
SUN-JUPITER
Generous, kind, warm, amiable, upbeat, tolerant. Visible self-confidence. Strong need for acceptance and friendship. A general dislike of problems (seems to float through life with amazingly little care for circumstances). Lucky: confident the universe will bail them out, problems usually resolve remarkably easily, but has a hard time persevering against real adversity when it finally strikes. (Extravagant, prodigal, loves leisure, overly reliant on luck.) Mind is philosophical or religious.
Notebook #93 observations: (TRINE/SEXTILE) Has a hard time persevering against adversity.
FURTHER NOTES:
At their best, people with this aspect can be the best of people. Very positive, optimistic outlook on life, not really hard to get along with. Warm-hearted, congenial, honest in dealings, gifted with a natural aura of grandness, nice to have around. SELF-EXPANSION, trying to broaden social, financial, and political circles of contact. Natural pride, visible self-confidence. Rises to high office early and earns promotions quickly. Born into "good family." Spoiled by parents. Social prestige is important. Love of comfort and finery could be exaggerated into excessive materialism and pretentiousness. Mind and body sound, health good. Mind could be philosophical / religious.

GARTH ALLEN notes wrote:...it denotes a deep-seated sense of personal dignity, together with a "worshipful complex" of higher standards than society generally holds to. Sun-Jupiter types of people are "instinctively happy" persons who require little to make them glow with joyful feelings - a pastel sunset, an exuberant puppy, all tongue and wiggle, bounding into their laps,... The ease with which such people can be "knocked for a loop" psychologically, however, is in direct ratio to the ease with which they can respond to the smile of a stranger on the street. Sun-Jupiter aspects... identify people who have such an automatic faith in the immortality of life... Because they are emotionally oriented to their childhoods, in fact so decidedly that their friends often moan that they will "never grow up," meaning they will never turn cutthroat in a commercial way, they have an escapist tendency when severe problems arise which cannot be coped with maturely. A psychologist would say that in a crisis they revert back to the juvenile stage of problem solution reflected in the childish threat to "go out in the garden and eat worms"... personal lifetime habit of wanting everything to be just dandy all the time.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:If well-placed in the foreground the native may be fortunately placed in life. He may well have the benefits of a good heritage. He may have aspirations for the cultural side of life and strive for the professions. He will feel at ease in circles which revere the "old school tie." With Jupiter acting in the role of "preserver," he will be fortunate amongst men and will find a way out of difficulties.

STATISTICS wrote:High for suicides (Bradley)
High for prostitutes (Eshelman) - interestingly also high for sex surrogates (Eshelman & King)
Also a marked characteristic of the sexually dysfunctional (Eshelman; many of these were clients of the surrogates used for the other tally). Interestingly, Jain also reported Sun-Jupiter aspects in 80% of his erectile dysfunction cases.
Common for "lonely hearts" column letters to American Astrology
Quite common for murdered rape victims (Davis) - 71% of sample - but perfectly normal occurence for those who survived (41%).

Sun-Saturn aspects
PRINCIPLE: Survival, control, discipline, self-reliance, struggle
SUN-SATURN
Effective survivors, self-sufficient, hard working, accomplishing. Used to hard work, few luxuries; preferring private, modest accommodations. Not always good control on strong impulses, but generally very good control of small & medium-sized ones. Authority (likely paternal) issues to overcome. Serious; enjoy deep subjects; yet few have so good a sense of humor! Childhood hardships common, circumstances force early maturation.
Notebook #93 observations: (Conjunction-Opposition-Square) Self-sufficient, independent. I suspect significant parent issues in most. Inclined to action rather than passivity, so generally capable of significant accomplishment. Not always good impulse control on strong impulses, but generally very good in control of the smaller and medium-sized ones.
(Trine-Sextile) I suspect significant parent issues in all cases. They have really deep-seated self-sufficiency issues, and it tends to "freeze them up" in places. Inclined to reaction, rather than action.

DONALD BRADLEY in personal correspondence wrote:The self-destructive Sun-Saturn configuration... in the average case works out merely in the compulsive need to work hard and long. There is often an emphasized fear of death in people with this aspect, so they keep dodging the subject and keep themselves overly busy in order not to think about the stark facts. There is often a deeply rooted resentment of parents, and sometimes an obsessive need to be neat and clean about one's person (the opposite being true in the unconscious mind).
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:Here the native will be inclined to be of the serious type and drawn to philosophy and other serious studies. Naturally skeptical, he demands adequate experimental proof before adopting a thesis as true. Inclined to eschew frivolities and living an abstemious life, he usually manages to live to a ripe old age with all his faculties intact.

Sun-Uranus aspects
PRINCIPLE: Self-renewal, liberation, individuality
SUN-URANUS
Go their own way, unapologetically following their own paths & persuaded that they’re a “special case.” Resourceful, stimulating, but easily bored (in need of frequent stimulation). Love of freedom: bow to no authority but themselves. Progressive, future-oriented, uninhibited by convention. Adept at creative problem solving. Self-perspective usually founded in objectivity.
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION-OPPOSITION-SQUARE) Independently resourceful, usually without the cantankerous and other negative side of those traits.
(TRINE-SEXTILE) Deeply interested in magick.

GARTH ALLEN wrote:SUN-URANUS COMBINATIONS, for example, stand for Freedom From Anonymity. Even with a lunchpail-and-timeclock existence, the Sun-Uranus native never relinquishes his notions of self-specialness, for this ego refuses to fuse itself in the sea of workaday namelessness. He carries this striving to retain social uniqueness and personal independence even into marriage and parenthood, where his dependents learn early that they are secondary to his work, ideas, aims and passions. He is apt to allow his zest for something to get out of hand by allowing the interest itself to engulf him and thereby smother his normal obligations to other subjects and persons. He is on a lifelong quest of self-probing, to understand incarnation and what life is all about. Tending to be perfectionistic and precision-minded, he has a preachy dictatorial air that aggravates steadier souls in his vicinity.
GARTH ALLEN wrote:Sun-Uranus aspects are the messianic aspects of horoscopes. It is difficult to conceive of birth-charts without such configurations, for Sun-Uranus aspects characterize the charts of rugged individualists, those who find it easy to renounce filial ties and those who seem to tap an exhaustless source of inner fuel for inspiration and actual sustenance. The proverbial poet starving in his garret is such a type, as is the perfectionistic orchestra conductor and the tireless, painstaking sculptor who produces his statue a few powdery grains per scrape. This compulsion toward perfection in itself is a deterrent to matrimony, for Sun-Uranus men tend to worship a romantic ideal which is impossible of realization in the flesh.... The Sun-Uranus man finds marriage a necessary evil or at least an obstacle to self-realization.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:These Sun-Uranus folk can be quite unique and exciting in their ways. They are unexpectedly and refreshingly novel in all they do that those who come before the public often strike the headlines and cause a public sensation. As Uranus is the promittor of inspiration they seem to seize the right moment to do the right thing and therefore excel in politics, adventure, sport, and science.

Sun-Neptune aspects
PRINCIPLE: Ego-dissolution, fantasy, forging an ideal
SUN-NEPTUNE
Love of drama, music, fantasy, mysticism, general surrealism. Active imagination. Nurtures an air of secrecy or mystery. Potential to move and inspire others if they acquire focus and perseverance. Sensitive to ambient impressions; exaggerates the “feeling tone” of a time and place. Self-view is unrealistic or disproportionate (excessively poor or grand).
Notebook #93 observations: (OPPOSITION-SQUARE) All are sincere and committed in principle, and do "as well as they can" in action; but their life circumstances tend to be too complex for them to be "full up" participants. (This last is a STRIKING trait and life pattern!)
(TRINE-SEXTILE) Very devoted and helpful; or, in the alternative, accustomed to being unrebutted empresses in their own small pond.
From Visions & Voices: Close Sun-Neptune conjunctions, oppositions, and squares are common in the horoscopes of enormously successful politicians (e.g., Bobby Kennedy, Al Gore, Sarah Palin, George Moscone, Edward Kennedy, and 10 U.S. Presidents), business visionaries (like Bill Gates), religious evangelists (like Billy Graham), and more A-list entertainers than I could list on this page. It seems to me that the common denominator in all of these is the entertainer, the weaver of a particular reality, and the sensitive with an unusual ability to read an audience effectively. [Later note: They especially know how to tell a story or weave a narrative.]

GARTH ALLEN wrote:...Sun-Neptune aspects denote a pliable, adaptive sort of idealism which can attach itself to any target and make that target of the affections "the one and only." Hence, a Sun-Neptune man finds it easy to propose to whichever girl he happens to be in love with at the moment, for the girl seems to fulfill the qualifications conveniently. the qualifications, of course, are so elastic and ephemeral that no spiritual conflict arises until another infatuation allows of yet another alteration of the ideal. The familiar metaphor, "sea of matrimony," is more astrologically appropriate than we had guessed... inasmuch as Neptune's foremost symbol is the sea. [...] Sun-Neptune aspects denote the urge toward self-projection as well as elasticity of the heart. [...] The sun-Neptune man finds the institution of marriage an especially useful device for the blossoming of his selfhood.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:These people are often gifted with large doe-like eyes. They tend to live, as artists, in a world of their own making, a world of fantasia, of drama, music, dance, and make-believe, divorced from the harsh world of reality. If compelled to live in such a world, as most are, they like to translate it into art. Having very abnormal and sensitive imaginations they are temperamental and are quick to "blow their top." Essentially escapists, there is a danger of addiction to drugs or drink as they are fascinated by temptation. They are the habitues of the entertainment world from grand opera to pop music.

A “law unto themselves,” “the exception to the rule.” Little respect for arbitrary expectations. Antiauthoritarian, needs to be free from arbitrary or incompetent control. Comfortable as “outsider” or “congenial bad boy.” Often seems aloof, unresponsive, but rarely harsh; usually kind, “live and let live.”
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION) May be poorer than the other aspects at being part of a group, due to isolationist tendencies and antiauthoritarian posturing.

Alack of warmth in human relationships makes them the separatists they are. The tendency can be dangerous and lead to antisocial activities. It can also manifest as outstanding ability, unique in its way, which can lead to a commanding position. Sun-Pluto people can rank among the great class of men of genius.

STATISTICS wrote:Few murderers (Bradley). However, Pluto was found foreground a great amount of time in the same study. MY ANALYSIS: Because Sun-Pluto is uncommon for murderers, we may be obliged to regard it as indicating high frustration tolerance. Could this possibly be true? I suspect that Sun-Pluto people deal with stress by leaving the situation - something different from Neptunian avoidance behavior. They go off to solve their problems on their own. In particular, among charts in my files, the Sun-Pluto conjunction seems more self-destructive than others-destructive, although this is so for the other Sun-Pluto aspects to a lesser extent. There must be an inner confrontation with Thanatos.
Very common for male sexual dysfunction especially erectile failure. (Sensitivity to pressure or coercion?)
Well represented for 99 heads of state
Present for 71% of rape victims (Davis). However, while it showed for 82% of the survivors it was perfectly normal (57%) for those who were killed. It is therefore conceivable that this is not specifically a rape-prone aspect but one with a survival theme in it. Notice that something similar occurred with Sun-Mars.

Moon-Mercury aspects
PRINCIPLE: Intellect/perception fused with subconsciousness/emotion
MOON-MERCURY
Intellect fused with the emotions, especially with subconscious patterns; thus, quick at assessment, intuitive, strategic (cagey, deceptive). Personality dominated by intellect & nervous system. Tremendous mental output & capacity to absorb knowledge (apt at languages, good memory). Can seem ‘all business’ in emotional matters & emotionally stubborn in factual ones: Under duress, “reasonableness” competes with reactive emotion.
Notebook #93 observations: (TRINE-SEXTILE) Possibly some difficulty with focus of effort and attention.

Moon-Venus aspects
PRINCIPLE: Female essence, nurture, love instinct
MOON-VENUS
Attractive, charming; much sexual charisma. Gracious (ingratiating), affectionate, sensual. Fond of social niceties. High frustration tolerance. (Passive-dependent, moody, can be blindsided by strong feelings, often preoccupied with whether they are liked.)
(NOTE: At root, this aspect highlights and accentuates the feminine principle. All of the positive traits are described by this; and, more importantly, every problem traceable to Moon-Venus, from a markedly passive-dependent nature to moodiness to being blindsided by strong feelings, stems from insufficiently accepting and developing the full scope of one's femininity. – Men, therefore, are more vulnerable to the negative manifestations.)
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION-OPPOSITION-SQUARE) Much more insecurity than they show at first. Nearly to a one, there is preoccupation with whether or not people like them. Most have a fairly strong passive-dependent streak.
FURTHER NOTES:
I think Moon-Venus aspects basically can be understood as a highlighting and accentuation of the feminine principle in an individual. All of the positive traits certainly fit here. Also, and perhaps more to the point, is that every problem I can connect to Moon-Venus aspects stems from the inability to accept the full scope of one's femininity.

MOON-MARS
Active & reactive, temperamental, thinks & acts rapidly. Detests idleness, rarely still. Driven, competent, ambitious. Impatient, acerbic, irritable. Too frank & sharp-tongued (hence friction in close relationships). Needs physical, emotional, & mental “room to breathe” (little domestic instinct). Substance abuse not uncommon. Moon-Jupiter aspects
PRINCIPLE: Optimism, fortune, ambition as adaptation, family
MOON-JUPITER
Ambitious, desires success, aspires to take the lead. A natural ‘host,’ likes to play ringmaster in all life areas including in social & sexual hospitality. Usually good-humored, entertaining, kind, generous. Drawn to quality, desires only the best (things & circumstances) for self & loved ones. Strong beliefs (often religious or patriotic intensity, moralistic, judgmental). Social elitism (possible feigned superiority, aristocratic conceit).
Notebook #93 observations: (OPPOSITION-SQUARE) Noble and service-oriented.
(TRINE/SEXTILE) Many excellent traits; but usually (not always) has difficulty with focus of effort and attention, and with applying themselves.
Celebrities who had serious money problems (small pilot) had an excess of these aspects. (Was it the celebrity or the money problems that showed? They do live high on life.)
ADD: Sexually, "just have a good time" (esp. hard aspects).
OBSERVATION: They are especially comfortable as the "ringmaster." This is how they entertain ('producing' an evening). I've seen the same behavior quite often sexually. And, among celebrities, there are quite a few 'hosts' (Johnny Carson, Arsenio Hall, Merv Griffin, aside from the very controlling dictators and other political figures). - It's as if the natural can't be permitted to interfere with the excellence of the contrived???

Some thoughtful exploration of Moon-Jupiter is here: https://www.solunars.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2957Fagan & Firebrace wrote:Whilst Neptune seems to denote quantity, Jupiter symbolizes quality. Those who have the Moon configured at birth with the greatest of the benefics aspire to the best things of life and like to surround themselves with them. They like to move in the best circles however humbly they themselves may be born, to take of the best of food and drink and to attend good schools. The height of their ambition would be to be a politician, if not a statesman. Others prefer advancement in the church or in the professions or in academic life. They impress by their education, culture, seeming sagacity, tact, diplomacy, optimism, and good humour. This latter trait could be hilarious if Jupiter is also configured with Mars, which can add a touch of coarseness. These people usually succeed in life not only because of their qualifications but because they manage to live respectably and decorously, doing all things in moderation.

Moon-Saturn aspects
PRINCIPLE: Emotional loss, survival adaptations, hardship, sadness
MOON-SATURN
Proud, self-made. Dynamic, hardworking, persistent, self-driving. Encourages growth in others (expects them to do something worthy of their abilities). Usually emotionally reserved, private. Definite tendency (often unconscious) to seek total control of situations and relationships. Parent-themed issues (nourishment-deprivation, etc.) to work through. Judgmental (intolerant). Can be pessimistic, distrustful, little self-confidence, passive-aggressive, feeling inferior, anxious, depressed. Many enter religious or social work for mixed motives of service, self-immolation, and seeking control.
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION-OPPOSITION-SQUARE) A definite tendency (perhaps often unconscious) to try to take total control of situations. This makes them seem like good potential leadership material on first impression; yet, as the result of these behaviors, they often cause a certain amount of friction in a group where they are not actually in charge. (When in doubt, they tend to bluster ahead and assume control of something or other.)
(TRINE/SEXTILE) Seems to be uncomfortable with anyone setting rules for them, and they deal with it through passive-aggressive behavior, excuses, etc.
POWER SHADOW
The predominance of people in the ministering and helping-healing professions, of famous religious figures, etc., is partly understood in terms of the power shadow. As Guggenbuhl-Craig wrote:
OPP/SQR: James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Grover Cleveland, Warren G. Harding, Herbert Hoover

The two worst economic periods in the nation's history were during the terms of Presidents with Cancer Moons in hard-aspect to Saturn.)

POWER SHADOW
The predominance of people in the ministering and helping-healing professions, of famous religious figures, etc., is partly understood in terms of the power shadow. As Guggenbuhl-Craig wrote:
In relation to this, note the high number of psychotherapists with this aspect. My list of trines and sextiles is literally filled all but to the brim with "helpers," many of whom are astrologers. Many cases of Moon-Saturn hard aspects are highly insistent in the "protesting too loudly" sense. All those active in the social professions, who work "to help mankind," have highly ambiguous psychological motives for their actions. In his own consciousness and to the world at large, the social worker feels obliged to regard the desire to help as his prime motivation. But in the depths of his soul the opposite is simultaneously constellated - not the desire to help, but lust for power and joy in depotentiating the "client." ... In general, the power drive is given freest rein when it can appear under the cloak of objective and moral rectitude.
Donald Bradley in AA 6/70 wrote:An accumulated hoard of resentments about one's early life, especially in connection with toilet-training and the development of "good" behavior as opposed to "bad" behavior... prone to suffer needlessly from feelings of guilt implanted in them by a too-orderly upbringing liberally riddled with quotations from Proverbs and Paul... Cyril Fagan called our attention to the fact that the most telltale configuration in the charts of hippies and other anomic types is Moon-Saturn... [they] know there has to be something more meaningful in life than to have a neat haircut and clean ears, show the proper solicitude toward elders and superiors, and never to burp audibly or scratch where it itches when anybody is looking...
GARTH ALLEN wrote:...it is miraculous how untrammeled and unscarred a Moon-Saturn "victim" can wind up his allotted span.
GARTH ALLEN wrote:...the mental faculty of automatic awareness of the unseemly side of human nature, a taking in stride of the darker corners of the mind. It has rightly been written that if you are born with the Moon and Saturn in configuration, you can easily brush shoulders with dirt and not get any on you.
Garth Allen on Sir Richard Burton wrote:His Lunar opposition to Saturn is suggestive of Burton's personal untidiness, his interest in the seamy, shady side of human behavior, and his rigid nerve in emergencies.
Fagan & Firebrace wrote:Because those who have this configuration at birth tend to suffer from some sort of chronic disability of that part of the body which comes under the dominion of the constellation holding the Moon, they tend to be depressed, melancholy, morbid, pessimistic, laborious, ponderous in thought, absent-minded, hesitant in speech, and given to philosophic brooding. These qualities do not make for success or popular appeal. They know hardship, frustration, and even failure and poverty. In constant fear of tomorrow they clutch at money coming their way and tend to hoard it. There is a fear of insecurity and on account of this they may feel resentment. Their work tends to keep them in the background. If Saturn is configured with Pluto the life of an anchorite would make strong appeal to some.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan, AO Ch21 wrote:...the anti-social Saturn's aspects to the Moon incline toward impotency, frigidity, unwholesome contacts, and secrecy

Moon-Uranus aspects
PRINCIPLE: Emotional renewal, discovery, new responses
MOON-URANUS
A specie of genius (intellectually rebellious, roving, curious, investigative) is bursting to express itself – not wholly comfortable accepting outside guidance, often wondering why others don’t recognize its nature. Inquisitive, original, futuristic, seeking novelty & needing variety (“will try anything twice”). Free-spirited: psychologically lives outside of convention; but subject to tensions and stiffness from emotional stress.

GARTH ALLEN wrote:Freedom From Boredom is the dispensation of Moon-Uranus, the roving-spirit combination in astrology. Easily impressed and persuaded at one moment and just as easily neutralized and dissuaded the next, the Moon-Uranus native is apt to enmesh himself in endless trivia and indefiniteness, often changing hobbies or so dispersing his talents as to give the impression of aimlessness in life. Gadgets and new ideas fascinate him no end and his thoughts are cloudlike in that no two are exactly alike, yet all are airy. As for appetites and sensations, he'll try anything once just because it's something to try.
Fagan & Firebrace wrote:In contradistinction to Saturn, the significator of all things that are stale, hoary, traditional, Uranus betokens the eternal spring of youth, the quality of freshness, newness, the original and the yet untried. Ideas that may be novel today, and so under Uranus, tomorrow may become stale and pass under the dominion of Saturn. Hence the effects of Uranus and Saturn are antithetical. Those having the Moon configured at birth with Uranus are "born before their time." Ahead of others in thought, they are looked upon as odd, eccentric. Being free from tradition they see and seize opportunities which others pass by. their originality make for marked success. In all fields of life they shine, especially in those of commerce, speculation, gambling, and sport. Many millionaires have this natal configuration.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan, AO Ch21 wrote:Uranus, the symbol of the young, the fresh, and the untried, is the general promittor of deviancy, and when aspecting Moon it appears to be responsible for the inclination towards homosexuality and lesbianism, but its action, even in sexual matters, can be traced in many other fields

Moon-Neptune aspects
PRINCIPLE: Sensitive, vulnerable, instinct to lose oneself in others
MOON-NEPTUNE
Sensitive – often too much! Tunes into others on an emotional (psychic?) level: can be deeply understanding, genuinely sympathetic, but also emotionally (psychically) vulnerable, easily wounded, with abiding fears of rejection. Self-defense through avoidance (non-confrontation) & slamming shut senses & good sense. When wounded, withdraws & introverts (often with excessive rumination, imagination working overtime, worry, moodiness). Drawn to the imaginative, surrealistic, and creative. Genius, if present, coexists with deeply, visibly disturbed character.
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION-OPPOSITION-SQUARE) A very strange group of people (especially the squares and oppositions). Hard Aspects are usually a danger signal - but not invariably so. The Conjunctions shows pronounced passivity, including a marked tendency not to confront problems or issues. The Oppositions-Squares are much the same, but - while they still are actually passive in the deep sense - they tend to be "acting out" types rather than passive in the way they create commotion and depart.
(TRINE-SEXTILE) Curious intellectuals who throw themselves into their inquiry. Quite unlike the 0-90-180! (This doesn't appear to be an indirect involvement of Moon-Pluto aspects.)
(I was asked to elaborate what "dangerous" behavior I meant by the above notebook note:) Not usually physically dangerous, but a wide range of problems are possible for themselves and for groups in which they try to function. Much of it has to do with the consequences of acute sensitivity manifesting as various kinds of acting out, emotional disturbances, extreme projections, generally stirring emotional volatility (by no means is this always intentional or conscious). - With the close hard aspects between Moon and Neptune, on the one hand you get a capacity for genius (visible in the famous and infamous), but also a for significant instability. An example of the extremes: Heinrich Himmler and the Dalai Lama. Yet... look closely to see what both of these men have in common! (The differences may make you miss it.) - Among the geniuses, you get actors like Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, and the gifted-while-notorious Robert Downey, Jr. In music, you get the uncompromised genius (but also acute sensitivity and visibly disturbed character) of, say, Ludwig von Beethoven and Michael Jackson.

Fagan & Firebrace wrote:Being supersensitive souls - the consequences of an exaggerated imagination - they are all too easily stung by an unkind word. These people fight shy of the harsh realities of everyday life and like to escape into a fantastic world of their own creation, or superstition, of memories of the past, of mythology or a world of art, music, or dancing. For some it is a world of drugs and opiates. With their overwrought imagination they are easily imposed on. In the world of reality they tend to adopt a distinctive pose or to dress artistically. Being temperamental they are prone to hysteria. When forced out into the open they dither get worried and flurried. This is a marked characteristic of an afflicted Neptune, The average Neptunian is regarded as somewhat irresponsible.

Moon-Pluto aspects
PRINCIPLE: Anomalous instincts, emotional eruption, purging automatic patterns
MOON-PLUTO
Bold and forthright, questioning and challenging, maverick and alien; independent, “marching to a different drummer,” resisting authority. Avoids habitual conformity (rebellious?); resists conventional conditioning and being made to concur with others’ values and codes. Restless, unwilling to be still for long, can uproot or take to the road on little notice. Deeply inquiring into existential mysteries, often igniting remarkable intuitive insights.
Notebook #93 observations: (CONJUNCTION-OPPOSITION-SQUARE) In an organizational setting, most, though loyal and staying, have at one time or another needed a period of time away, often arranged through travel, job, etc. It is almost like too much closeness and connectedness for too long throws a circuit breaker in them, and something happens to interrupt it!
(TRINE-SEXTILE) Quite willing to "march to a different drummer." That is, whatever their feelings may be about the matter, most of them don't act as though they are overly concerned about how other people have decided life should be lived or enacted. (The hard aspects have this too, but they seem more often to go out of their way to be obvious - at least a little "noisy" - about their rebellions.)
Regarding the mother: Often there is an absence or separation from the mother, but equally often there is something remarkable, maybe offbeat and out of the ordinary, about her (or an important maternal surrogate).
NOTE: The word "shy" is accurate but misleading, in that most are quite bold.

Fagan, AO Ch21 wrote:Pluto, when aspecting the Moon, makes for sexual bashfulness and thus will tend towards sexual relationships which are more imaginary than actual, and when the native does mix with his fellow men he will be apt to play the role of a masochist or even a transvestite.
U.S. PRESIDENTSFagan & Firebrace wrote:The most antisocial of the planets, Pluto is the significator of detachment, isolation, and extreme loneliness. Those having this configuration at birth are shy when forced to appeal amongst others, are quickly bored and take the first opportunity to disappear. They always appear in a state of revolt and are beings apart. Some have to flee from the law. They can stand alone and be unique. Those mingling with society always manage to preserve their independence and detachment. Difficult members of a team, averse to the party system, many distinguish themselves on stage or platform, retaining their aloofness in spite of the applause of the multitude. Sometimes their shyness makes them self-defensively aggressive. This is more noticeable if Pluto is also configured with Mars.

Ebertin found it characteristic of schizophrenia (nearly always hereditary). (NOTE: As with Moon-Uranus, the reported schizophrenia symptoms, if measured by MMPI Scale 8, may simply mean an abrupt dissociation from conventional reality.)

Moon-Eris aspects
NOTE: Examination of Eris is relatively new. Please consider what follows tentative and exploratory.
PRINCIPLE: (not determined)
MOON-ERIS
Mischievous, curious, trickster, outlier, and disruptor: Naturally navigates the swarm of chaos more easily with practical advantage (but thus also leaves a wake of chaos, disrupting imposed orders and conditions, from having little native resistance to disorder). At best, finds new order in the incomprehensible, manages outlier possibilities.
