Natal Chart Insight

Post by BrandonReid »

Hello,

I've read alot up on astrology, but I appreciate the disposition I'm finding in these forums. My birth data is:

September 29, 1990, 8:30 AM, Richmond, BC, Canada

Any insight would be appreciated as to my planetary formations. :) Thank you.

Brandon, welcome to Solunars. Here is a copy of your Sidereal chart. For starters, I'll run down the highlights of the chart, and you can look up interpretations in the corresponding sections of the Natal Astrology section. - Notice, please, that we are currently in a month of taking a closer look at Capricorn Moons (like yours), here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1851

I recommend looking for the very strongest factors in each of the main categories of chart factors, to see how these come together to form a core picture of your character.

CONSTELLATIONS: Your most important sign placements are Sun in Virgo and Moon in Capricorn. Completing the intellect leaning "Earth" triad, your Mars is in Taurus, and this is probably the third strongest sign placement.

ANGULAR PLANETS. You don't have any planets really close to the angles, but your closest is Saturn, 7-8° from IC. You can look this up in the "Angularity" sub-forum. Most of your planets are placed in moderately-expressive parts of the chart, neither too emphasized nor too suppressed, but Saturn (which also is the main planetary force of your Capricorn Moon sign) is the most expressive of the set. (If you are no longer in BC, let us know your current location - other planet forces might have come to the fore if you have moved a long distance from your birthplace.)

ASPECTS: I'll list these in groups, starting with the strongest and most pronounced aspects, and then suggest other layers to add after you've understood the closest.

FIRST PRIORITY ASPECTS:
Sun-Uranus (square 0°32')
Moon-Mercury (sesqui-square 0°01')
Mercury-Saturn (trine 1°16') [rulers of your Sun & Moon signs]
Moon-Jupiter (opposition 3°04')

SECOND PRIORITY ASPECTS:
Moon-Sun (trine 1°13')
Sun-Jupiter (sextile 1°51')
Sun-Neptune (square 5°34')
Mercury-Pluto (sextile 3°52')
Mars-Jupiter (sextile 3°27')

Brandon, hi, welcome on board!

A very short breakdown of your natal chart factors:

Constellations:
Sun Virgo, Moon Capricorn, Mars Taurus

Aspects:
Sun sq Uranus 33'
Sun tri Moon 1*14'
Sun sxt Jupiter 1*51'
Moon ssqsq Mercury 00*00' (!)
Moon opp Jupiter 03*05'
Mercury tri Saturn 01*16'

Angularity
Saturn is the only planet close to angle (sq AC from ND 01*09', if measured eclipto; 07*26' of IC, measured mundo)

Other things of interest
Your Mars is in its detriment sign (and near the star Aldebaran), and except for a wide sextile with Jupiter (03*27') has no direct connections with other planets.

I saw this, too, and wasn't sure what to say about it. Pointedly, Mars is exactly in the middle of the quadrant, and Mercury exactly on a cadent cusp. They are the least angular of all the planets, and normally we would expect low expressiveness. Yet Mercury traits are obviously quite strong with a Virgo Sun, and Mars traits in a Capricorn Moon (the constellation where Mars is exalted). I was next going to take the tactic of emphasizing that, with the background Mars in Taurus, and softer, Taurian qualities would show more than the usual aggressive Mars traits; but this wasn't entirely right either, since the third least angular planet is Venus (and Virgos are rather anti-Venus in some key ways - it takes a little work to get the distinctions - plus, once more, Cap Moon will have distinct Mars traits).

So I decided to ignore it and just hint that he might want to look up the Taurus Mars eventually :)

The recurring themes are intellectual, inquiring, independent, and yet mindful and respectful of others and their needs. Any Mars "striking out" is likely to establish his individuality, not so much to compete with or challenge others. The luminary signs are service minded and keenly intellectual and inquiring )add Moon-Mercury 01'). Other "inquiring" aspects include Sun-Uranus and Mercury-Pluto. Meanwhile, there is a great deal of assertion of individuality with the Sun-Uranus, the angular Saturn, the Cap Moon. Let the pieces float around each other and see the overlaps and reinforcements in the strongest factors.

Wow, well thank you both for the information. My mind is blown really, as I'm used to the tropical zodiac, so this is rather refreshing. Fascinating stuff, and yes Jim I'm still living in BC; in fact I refuse to move over to the major city Vancouver even... not sure how that's reflected in my chart however. Thanks for the readings on Moon in Capricorn, amazing. Thanks again!
