New Interest

Post by mikestar13 »

Over the last two weeks or so. I've acquired an entirely new interest. I'm working rather diligently on becoming a writer of erotic fiction, and my first story is awaiting the editors' decision about publication on another website (Literotica, com). I am working on my second story now. I have been for reader for some time--I inhabit a very broken body confined to a nursing home, what else is there? But I don't understand this drive to write erotica.

I wouldn't call it an obsession, I can easily put it aside for other activities such as casting horoscopes, or curating my music collection, or taking a meal in the dining room and socializing with other residents. But I really want to do this. I have the feeling that I may lose interest if I receive too many rejections, but I I get some positive feedback by seeing a story of mine published, this may become a persistent interest.

My question is about the astrology of this. I can see the potential in my nativity: Sun conjunct Venus in Pisces (Venus'' exhalation) sextile rising Mars in Taurus (Venus dignity), combined with the Moon-Mercury conjunct across the Aries-Pisces cusp fits very well IMHO. But I have no astrological answer to why now? I have a hunch I'm overlooking something obvious/

I think the luminary signs, and that rising Mars in Taurus say it all. Pisces are, after all, indulgent - sensationalist - imagination - etc., and Aries Moons really don't need zippers on their pants. :D

You said it,bro ;) If my parts still worked, I'd be the most popular guy in this nursing home, and not just with the residents. I once said to a CNA who my roommate had called (among other things) a much nastier synonym for "ugly bitch" (with no basis in reality), "now I know he's bat-shit crazy. In an alternate world where I was able-bodied and we were both single, I'd go for you in a New York minute." She smiled and thanked me for the the much needed ego-boost after my roommate's abuse, but there was a definite subtext of "damn, I wish it were true."

My first story was well-received, garnering a 4.4 out of 5 rating from readers. I'm nearly finished with writing my second story, I have a pretty good outline for my third, and a hazy general idea for my fourth. Some observation about my writing style:

I can't write third person. The only way I can tell s story is first person--I develop a literary alter-ego who tells the story, so far I have two very different ones, and the third looks like he will will also be different from the other two. Too early to tell about #4. The others have different ages, orientations, personalities, and physical characteristics. The only common thread is they are all male (unsurprising), though I wonder if someday my writing skills will be up to writing a believable female viewpoint character.

Either I have a hefty dose of Pisces/Neptune imagination, or undiagnosed dissociative identity disorder. The two possibilities don't exclude each other.

Aries Moon and rising Mars manifest in the ability to get down and dirty. OTOH, my first story moved many readers to tears, including me as I was writing it, and and one particular scene got tears from from me on the tenth re-reading after publication. On the third hand, I can sneak in a good laugh now and then.

But the most striking thing is I can't tell an erotic story that isn't in the final analysis a love story. It all about that Venus...

My second story is now published, it's been a shade better received than the first. I ended up writing, rewriting, re-rewriting, etc. until I got it right. I thought It would rate significantly less well than my first, but I missed my guess about reader reaction. I did some fairly meticulous research, including looking up operating hours, menu and dress code for a Donovan's Steak and Chop House, in San Diego, CA that I used fictitiously as the scene of the lead character's big date. Maybe I actually can write!

Actually being in love changes everything. I no longer have any wish to write about love, I'm living it.
