Interpretation files in Solarfire

Post by SteveS »

Jim/anyone, when you have a Natal Chart highlighted in Solarfire, to you have your own personal written content in SF Interpretation file? For example:

1: Highlight a Natal Chart
2: Click Interps on Tool Bar
3: Click Interpretation Files
4: Click Natal
5: Should be defaulted to Standard's int
6: Click Edit
7: An Interpretation Editor window appears.

Is anyone using SF using this Interpretation feature?

I don't use it. I'd like to one day, but I don't have the kind of written material completed that I'd like to include in it. Just fragments. For example, the most important thing would be getting the luminary sign interpretations down to one tight four-line paragraph each, and I've only done this for less than half of the Sun-signs and none of the Moon-signs.

I understand Jim. This is a nice feature in Solarfire and I certainly see certain advantages with its possible implications.

If I evert get back to tweaking them, I'll provide the file for whatever good it is. Here, for example, is what your chardt looks like, Steve, with the "not toiuched in a long time, incomplete" version I have. (I set the orbs at Class 1 level to simplify it.)

SOLAR FIRE INTERPRETATIONS REPORT

[THIS INTRODUCTION NEEDS TO BE REWRITTEN. IT IS THE DEFAULT INTRODUCTION THAT COMES WITH SOLAR FIRE AND IS NOT TEXT CREATED BY JAMES A. ESHELMAN.]

CHART POINTS

THE MOON

THE MOON IN SCORPIO
Text for this interpretation has not been prepared.

THE MOON IN THE 1ST HOUSE
Restless, moody, subjective, changeable, eager. Response to a given situation not dependable. Strongly responsive to environment. Emotional “feelers” extended; feelings prominent; eager to help a friend.

ASPECTS OF THE MOON
SEXTILE NEPTUNE Orb 0°39' Applying
Highly sensitive. Deeply understanding, genuinely sympathetic, yet easily wounded. Sensitive to rejection; strong security needs. Thrives in subjective, artistic, intuitive realms of painting, music, drama, mysticism rather than amidst concrete, practical details. 'Tunes into' others on emotional or psychic level. Imagination can work overtime. Moody, introverted, autistic, withdraws within self when wounded.

THE SUN

THE SUN IN VIRGO
No interpretation has yet been prepared for this.

THE SUN IN THE 10TH HOUSE
Awareness of authority within self and others (paternal bias). Achievement-oriented, responsible, managerial. Proud. Probable success in career.

ASPECTS OF THE SUN
SQUARE URANUS Orb 0°44' Separating
Progressive, future-oriented, perhaps revolutionary. Colorful, stimulating, original, creative. Strong love of freedom. Bows to no authority other than self. Lives for the excitement & novelty life brings. Uninhibited outlook on living. Adept at problem-solving. Self-perspective generally clear and founded in objectivity.

MERCURY

MERCURY IN THE 11TH HOUSE
No text available for this topic.

ASPECTS OF MERCURY
SEXTILE PLUTO Orb 0°04' Applying
Thinking is individual, unusual, outlier, perhaps branching to bizarre, little-explored topics. Investigative, seeks primal (seed) causes, thinks deeply about things. Mind may skirt the cliff-edge of normalcy (may slip off): acute enthusiasm, possible burnout. Extremely excitable, especially about inquiries and discoveries. Impatient (irritable in the face of obstacles; tolerates frustration poorly). Instinct for abstract mathematics (manifests in composers, chess players, physicists).

ASPECTS OF VENUS

MARS

MARS IN THE 8TH HOUSE
No text available for this topic.

ASPECTS OF MARS
TRINE JUPITER Orb 0°08' Separating
Exalts strength, competition, and conquest with a zest for living. Common for successful competitive athletes; in most others, it shows vitality and enthusiasm for bringing an ever-improving “personal best.” Confidence in their own strength adds impermanence to any defeats. Morally, if not physically, courageous. Enterprising, resourceful. Sexually, both men and women are ardent, lusty, eager, popular, on the hunt. “Money to burn” (generous or extravagant; rarely holds onto cash for long; seems confident in the stream of resources). Aggressive in their beliefs, evangelical in their lives (irrepressible enthusiasts, missionaries, barnstormers of doctrine or other interests).

JUPITER

JUPITER IN LIBRA

JUPITER IN THE 1ST HOUSE
No text available for this topic.

ASPECTS OF JUPITER
Jupiter has no aspects to subsequent chart points.

SATURN

SATURN IN CANCER
No text available for this topic.

SATURN IN THE 9TH HOUSE
No text available for this topic.

ASPECTS OF SATURN
CONJUNCTION PLUTO Orb 3°49' Separating
Shouldering unwanted burdens, a person with this natal configuration often feels he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. He has a fear of being manipulated, hence is not interested in confederations or alliances. This lone-wolf tries desperately to dissociate himself from all labels and categorizations. The Saturn-Pluto aspect normally causes one to disregard any opinions or beliefs which do not immediately fall in line with his own established attitudes and ideas.

8-) Excellent Jim! Dead on with my aspects! If we ever got a large influx of new students on the forum, it sure would be nice to be able to provide your work in this SF interpretation file for others, as long as we could figure out a way to cover costs. Maybe, a possibility for people at Solarfire to provide a free link on your forum for only your interpretations in a special file, probably not practical--just thinking out loud. But SF may see good means for advertising their astrological program. :?:

Notice that one of the problems is that there is no way to get this file to automatically detect angularity because almost none of it is ecliptical. ("Conjunction with Ascendant or Midheaven" isn't reliable.) So it would be Sidereal astrology without angularity :(

Yes, this is a problem, but the aspects which were angular could be quickly copied as the main natal theme and the other aspects delegated as less effect. I have someone now who is going to help me look into SF's interpretation function, but it may take a-while for final decision what I want to do. It would be nice if we had your words in this interpretation file and as a second reinforcement Ebertin's "Principles" with a reference to his book COSI. Could infringe on copyrights though.
