Welcome to Solunars. So, to be clear, you were born in Des Moines?

I'll get a chart diagram added here when I have time to prepare the graphics, but here are some written notes. The chief factors in your chart (which then need to be woven together) are:

CONSTELLATIONS. Sun in Gemini, Moon in Aquarius. Next most important is Mars in Virgo.

ANGULARITY. No planets are closely foreground. The Pluto (that, at first glance, looks like it's exactly angular, is over 9° from the angle. Mercury is about 7° above Ascendant. Mercury and Pluto are your two angular planets, but these are weaker influences (because they are so wide). They both tend to reinforce your Gemini Sun characteristics.

ASPECTS. Aspects, roughly in order of importance, are:

Moon-Venus (square 1°51')
Moon-Neptune (square 2°37')
Moon-Saturn (opposition 3°32')
Saturn-Neptune (square 0°55')
Venus-Neptune (opposition 4°58')
Venus-Saturn (square 5°23')

Mars-Saturn conjunction (4°23')
Mars-Neptune (square 5°18')

Mercury-Mars (sextile 1°53')
Mercury-Uranus (trine 2°31')
Mercury-Saturn (sextile 2°31')

Moon-Uranus (trine 3°41')
Venus-Pluto (trine 2°42')
Mercury-Pluto (square 5°11')

I know this is a lot or data. I may be able to give you a written summary later today, and my colleagues can help point you to where, in the natal interpretation section, you can find summaries of these factors.

Pay especial attention to your Gemini Sun and Aquarius Moon - these are the biggest factors in the chart. Next, the aspects in order of how I've clumped them, with the Moon-Venus-Saturn-Neptune "grand cross," then add the Mars aspects, then the next three, then the last three. Get an integration of data at each level, and then use that to layer in the next level.

I'm sure various people will have more to offer as they wander into the forum.

Ah, it worked: (I've been developing a way to automatically generate "starter" information on a chart. What follows is a preliminary version of it, but it might help you get going.)

These notes on your SIDEREAL NATAL HOROSCOPE are provided for your reference and study. They are not a full interpretation of your birth chart; rather, they are the building blocks from which such a full interpretation can be built.

Each factor listed below contributes strong parts of your character. These individual parts commonly repeat or contradict each other. (We all have contradictory sides to ourselves.) Though it does not necessarily take an astrologer to fuse these together into a balanced picture of you and your life, it DOES require knowledge of human behavior and the ways that people support and sabotage themselves. Your astrologer, having these skills and knowing this symbolic language, can help you in this process. However KNOWING YOURSELF is a life-long undertaking. I encourage you to read through these notes, feeling your way through all the words and reflecting on what you know of yourself, to see how the many facets of your nature interweave and for the larger picture of who you are.

The paragraphs are brief. I have sought to pack in everything essential, to use a few words to imply a great deal more. Not every phrase will apply, of course. Some will be more important than others; but the gist of each section should clearly reflect truth about you. When you have spent time with this and have new questions, consult your astrologer to discuss them.

Character is destiny. Who you are determines the life that is yours to unfold. "Know thyself" is the goal.

DahcSelyob - Male Chart

Des Moines IA, 41°N36'02'', 093°W36'32''

MOON IN AQUARIUS
Instinct for interconnection (all things) & breadth (diverse interests) as sources of genius. Intellectually rebellious, curious, investigative, futuristic. Science, analysis, discovery. Free spirit + social responsibility. Sexually curious; strange marital conditions. Humane: sympathetic to others’ troubles. Social idealist, reformer. Avoids “herd mind.” Occultists.

SUN IN GEMINI
Acute nervous system. Speed, rhythm, variety (dispersion). More reason than belief. Courageous. Rejects forced stratification: “What’s expected” often makes no sense to them. Play, youthful; needs affection, connection; feels loneliness deeply, often alienated. Music, arts, business. Mechanical, technical.

ASPECTS
MOON SQUARE VENUS Orb 1°51' Separating
Attractive, charming; much sexual charisma. Gracious (ingratiating), affectionate, sensual. Fond of social niceties. High frustration tolerance. (Passive-dependent, moody, can be blindsided by strong feelings, often preoccupied with whether they are liked.)

MOON OPPOSITION SATURN Orb 3°32' Applying
Proud, self-made. Dynamic, hardworking, persistent, self-driving. Encourages growth in others (expects them to do something worthy of their abilities). Usually emotionally reserved, private. Definite tendency (often unconscious) to seek total control of situations & relationships. Parent-themed issues (nourishment-deprivation, etc.) to work through. Judgmental (intolerant). Can be pessimistic, distrustful, little self-confidence, passive-aggressive, feeling inferior, anxious, depressed. Many enter religious or social work for mixed motives of service, self-immolation, and seeking control.

MOON SQUARE NEPTUNE Orb 2°37' Applying
Sensitive – often too much! Tunes into others on an emotional (psychic?) level: can be deeply understanding, genuinely sympathetic, but also emotionally (psychically) vulnerable, easily wounded, with abiding fears of rejection. Self-defense through avoidance (non-confrontation) & slamming shut senses & good sense. When wounded, withdraws & introverts (often with excessive rumination, imagination working overtime, worry, moodiness). Drawn to the imaginative, surrealistic, and creative. Genius, if present, coexists with deeply, visibly disturbed character.

VENUS OPPOSITION NEPTUNE Orb 4°28' Separating
Idealistic, future-looking, longs to be enchanted. Wants things perfect. Can become jaded, disillusioned, and cynical from repeated hurtful betrayals. Emotions run strong. Most sees beauty in people and things, thus has blind spots (especially in romance). Trusting, naturally confident of others’ goodness (poor discrimination in selecting friends). Good-hearted, caretakes others, devoted friends, romantic, humanitarian. Natural people-readers (when not personally involved), natural psychologists.

VENUS SQUARE SATURN Orb 5°23' Separating
Work, duty, devotion give especial pleasure. Also, various restrictions (even hardships) in love. Work (with an eye to service) is inherently gratifying; ordinary pleasures may be delayed or sacrificed for responsibilities. Many seem comfortable alone (unpartnered), though there is rarely any sexual restraint (often quite the opposite). Childhood hardship or deprivation often exists (physical or emotional) that shapes adult patterns; many move far from their birthplace to restart their lives. Sober, responsible. Willing to pragmatically sacrifice (even sell-out) whatever they need to, for something more important to them.

MARS CONJUNCTION SATURN Orb 4°23' Separating
Struggle marks these lives, sometimes from early (physical or psychological) hardship, sometimes from prejudice. Some (activists) struggle for something, others struggle only against. All are hardened, tough survivors, self-sufficient, maneuvering for control, who seem to make everything harder than necessary. Three typical types are those who (1) accept the hardship and focus most on “getting through”; (2) act meek, frail, gentle, inoffensive; (3) overcompensate as bullies, pushing around those weaker than them. Suppressive experiences leave feelings of weakness, shame, and inadequacy they ultimately need to heal. Conflicts especially with father-authority equivalencies. Most are serious and reserved, cautious about enthusiasms.

MARS SQUARE NEPTUNE Orb 5°18' Separating
Obsessive, concentrated, with enormous psychic power to fascinate and move minds and reality, in a thriving life of high drama. Requires rapid conformity of reality to his wants (and usually gets it); surges into temptation; impatient with frustrated gratification, yet often can mobilize great stamina for long-term vision. Imagination and emotion are supercharged; thrives in conditions of stirred passion. Evangelical enthusiasm for interests and convictions. Can compel a nearly religious following, as if by pure will. Aggressions can be dramatic; unresolved anger patterns trigger in response to frustrations. High IQ; can be manipulative. Sexually magnetic yet wrestles with sexual demons and doubts. (This aspect is most comprehensively expressed by high dopamine levels and dopamine-driven behavior.)

MERCURY SEXTILE MARS Orb 1°53' Separating
Mind is high-powered, quick, dynamic, strategic. Physical and mental responses are both fast. Forthright, candid, speaks directly, independent of thought, enjoys a good argument (mental/verbal competition). Predominantly a creative type. Quick wit, edgy sense of humor. Talent with hands. Prone to irritability, nervous frustration, faultfinding, obstinacy, opinionation. High vulnerability to addiction.

MERCURY TRINE URANUS Orb 2°22' Applying
Independent thinker. Curiosity and investigative spirit in most things. Mind unfettered by formality and standards, solves problems and integrates data more intuitively. Rejects linearity, lacks rigor in learning. Many interests, diverse, often unusual (including astrology or occultism). Speech engages others’ attention, usually has something interesting to say; challenges convention or authority, dares to speak despite consequences. Gentle rebellious behavior (“bad boy/girl”) seems rooted in, “Don’t tell me how to think.” Socially odd, but not ostracized for it.

MERCURY SEXTILE SATURN Orb 2°31' Applying
Organizes and formats information in orderly arrangements. (Often blazingly quick thinkers once the framework is established; cf. a spreadsheet.) Methodical, logical, often routinized thinking processes. Skeptical, scrutinizing (distrustful). Obstinate in the absence of new evidence. Hesitant until oriented, then decisive, e.g., learning starts slowly, then catch up quickly. Gifted with considerable mental power, but easily discouraged (doubting). Treats life seriously. Needs to learn how to play.

VENUS TRINE PLUTO Orb 2°42' Separating
“All or nothing” emotional intensity instinctively rejects others’ (moral and other) arbitrary constraints on love, sex, art. Typically has few intimates, and those of unfiltered intensity. Halfway measures are not enough; in human connection, the feeling is, “go cosmic, or go home.” Those expressing the ALL mode seek deep, penetrating connections (sometimes overwhelming intimates, sometimes inadvertently challenging social codes). Those in the NOTHING mode may choose it innocently or withdraw from people in response to repeated rebuke and ostracism. For both, sexual development may come late, as adolescent social rituals seem perplexingly arbitrary. Either may experience eruptive trouble in relationships. Either, by their intensity, can be commandingly charismatic.

MARS SEXTILE URANUS Orb 4°14' Separating
Uncompromisingly individualist (but rarely ungraciously so). Bold, often stand out as highly distinctive characters in their circles. Natural rebel, challenges prevailing thinking, brutally honest. Always into something new, often offbeat. Takes risks psychologically (sometimes physically). Industrious, resourceful, shows initiative. Mentally quick, not necessarily intellectual; knack for astute assessment of situations, analytical, mechanical instincts. Sexually uninhibited, enthusiastic (lifestyle may challenge social standards; actions may challenge the world to try to stop them). Trusts own instincts more than outside advice.
