ROSA's birthday
Tomorrow is the 44th anniversary of the founding of the Registry of Sidereal Astrologers (ROSA) by Karen Wilkerson and Joan Piszek. Although ROSA did not last many years, it was a critical step in the drawing together of Sidereal astrologers and starting relationships and communication that have borne us all through nearly half a century since.
I mention it now primarily because I'd like to challenge those here convened to think how to honor the 45th anniversary one year from tomorrow.
-- What can we do with this site, Solunars.com, to make our daily participation the best tribute to what was then started?
-- What event or events might you like to create (online or even in the non-virtual world) to honor the occasion on St. Patrick's Day 2019?
-- What else can you come up with?

Do you have any past statements (public) by Rosa?

I'd have to pull my copies of The Constellations out of storage. What are you thinking of?

Since I was never a part of this group, I would like to read as much as possible about their public statements to get a better feel for their spirit they were trying to project to public, if done so.

Maybe somebody who was a member of ROSA should make an entry in Wikipedia for it, so people know what it was?

If somebody wants to take that on, I'll be happy to serve as a resource for them, as far as memory permits.Jupiter Sets at Dawn wrote: Fri Mar 16, 2018 11:09 am Maybe somebody who was a member of ROSA should make an entry in Wikipedia for it, so people know what it was?

Re: ROSA's birthday
The reason I suggested it be a member is Sidereal astrology stuff tends to get edited by somebody who thinks tropical astrology needs to be defended on Wikipedia, and then other people who think that editor is an authority vote to lock out any attempts to change it back. So the person posting needs to have better knowledge and be able to prove it aka "I was part of ROSA. Google it."

They actually don't listen to first hand knowledge. They want web links and other documentable, referenceable stuff.
I'm a particularly bad person to try: Wikipedia editors have done a lot to block things referencing me where I was a principle and directly involved. One group of people even has a law suit on them pending. Editors have reported that if the person or entity isn't sufficiently identifiable from web references that have nothing to do with them (and those directly connected to them), then the person or entity is insufficiently famous to be discussed on Wikipedia. - So, an independent editor who collates citations is likely to be more successful.

Kinda reminds me what Fagan went through introducing Sidereal Astrology to mainstream Tropicalists.
Thanks JSAD for the link, most interesting.

Re: ROSA's birthday
That explains why your name wasn't mentioned at all on the wiki Thelema page! I corrected that a month or so ago (in the Literature section, contemporary authors). I see it's still there.Jim Eshelman wrote: Fri Mar 16, 2018 12:39 pm

And from my standpoint, you have been the only Sidereal Astrologer who has done something to continue the spirit of ROSA with this forum.Although ROSA did not last many years, it was a critical step in the drawing together of Sidereal astrologers and starting relationships and communication that have borne us all through nearly half a century since.

Each of us serious Sidereal Astrologers continue to help all serious new students for Sidereal Astrologers learn the awesomeness of Sidereal Astrology in proving ‘Timing is Everything’ and the Sidereal Zodiac is the one and only true Zodiac.-- What can we do with this site, Solunars.com, to make our daily participation the best tribute to what was then started?
Jim asked:
I am endeavoring to find a practical and affordable way to place on-line a free simple calculation program for the millions of new interested people in astrology to calculate their Natal Charts with Jim’s Sidereal Natal interpretations (his new Solarfire interpretation file), primarily to draw interested students to the field of Sidereal Astrology. I want this online possibility to be fully automated to charge a small fee which could allow Jim to retire and devote his full time to Sidereal Astrology, with the possibility Jim could set- up some kind of financial foundation trust for Sidereal Astrology preserving access to all the great books/stuff that has been written about Sidereal Astrology that never penetrated the masses in a good channel of learning. The great writings about Sidereal Astrology are too fragmented and needs to be put in a collected manner, otherwise it will be lost to history. ROSA began in the non-online personal computer days. I am hoping to make new contacts with my Jupiter Cycle expanding my Horizon with someone who knows exactly what to do with my online endeavors/dream answering all my questions in detail, so I can see the forest for the trees in this matter. If I can make the right contacts I will put this possible project together and maybe launch this project on St. Patrick’s Day 2019 in the honor of ROSA.-- What event or events might you like to create (online or even in the non-virtual world) to honor the occasion on St. Patrick's Day 2019?
You got to have a dream. If you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have the dream come true. Bloody Mary.
It’s better to get out there and try to do a thing and fail at it than to realize you’re going to fail and not try. Always go for the blue ribbon.

There was a mission statement, but the main purpose was to connect people first and see where things went from there.

What was the mission statement? I assume Solunars.com has something to do with ROSA's mission statement.

I understand about the task of finding some written words in 'storage somewhere.'
Re: ROSA's birthday
I had been thinking of Donald Bradley's upcoming 100th SSR and how he risked so much to bring us up to date, so to speak. I'm not quite Irish yet, still have about 500 posts, but I will get there. I came across a poem that reminded me of our beloved zoo, the zodiac, its 12 constellations and the sweet points of the MC and AC. It feels as if this poem is calling them by different names but they are the same spirit.
Donald Bradley and all his Students and especially Jim remind me of Voyager's exploring and landing on foreign soil just like this poem.
Happy Birthday ROSA.

🥰
50 years is almost my entire life.
It's a truly beautiful thing. Publishing personal identities like that is very courageous and risky and necessary.
You know what would be a beautiful thing to do for Donald Birthday if money wasnt a question...
I had the thought of secretly reproducing all the Sidereal Texts in beautiful binding and font, prelabeling them with the cutter numbers and barcodes, stamps and pockets and protectors, metadata on the go to drop into circulation in libraries across America on Donald's birthday...a hundred thousand library books that mysteriously appeared on the shelf ready to go.
If only I had my own printing press. I'd love to make bootlegged copies and sneak them into the stacks as a secret gift. Some libraries I would sneak more then one copy too, put them in a few different call numbers just to be sure they get checked out. ah that would be so nice.
Amazon Microsoft Apple PayPal, Meta all have such amazing Sidereal charts dont they.
