Roseanne Barr

Post by Venus_Daily »

Actress, comedian, and self-admitted prostitute, Rosanne Barr has come under fire today for tweeting out racist tweets (something she's known for). Subsequently, the reboot of her hit show was canceled after it was renewed in March for a second season. The show was only supposed to run for one season, but it was renewed and then abruptly canceled because of Rosanne's harsh and insensitive words toward businesswoman and former government official, Valarie Jarrett.
DOB:
3 November 1952
Salt Lake City, Utah

Planets:
Sun: 17'16 in Libra (fall)
Moon: 11'07 Tauraus (exhaltation)
Mercury 9'19 Scorpio
Venus: 21'20 Scorpio (fall)
Mars: 22'24 Saggitarius
Jupiter: 22'26 Aries
Saturn: 26'42 Virgo
Uranus: 24'24 Gemini
Neptune: 28'05 Virgo
Pluto: 29'04 Cancer
Asc: 13'10 Capricorn
Mc: 4'32 Scorpio
East Point: 29'59 Capricorn

First, and foremost, her luminaries very much describe how she arrived into show business in the 80s. Even before Roseanne premiered in 1988, Barr was very much an empowered woman trying to make a name for herself, which is symbolic of her Sun in Libra. In 1985, on the Johnny Carson show, Roseanne described herself as a domestic diva in keeping with her Moon placed in Taurus. Her foreground Mercury in Scorpio opposite her natal moon made her a quick-witted and sharp-tongued businesswoman, who was known for her epic smackdown of Rosanne producer Tom Warner. For having Venus dominated luminaries, Rosanne's actual Venus is weakly placed in Scorpio very close to the middle ground possibly describing her lack of social grace, bumpkin demeanor, and inability to remain married. Roseanne's Sun/Jupiter opposition softly aspected to Mars makes up for her badly placed Venus and imparts a "warrior" quality who always "comes out swinging" for what she wants. This Aspect also reinforces her Moon/Mercury opposition on the meridian. Her toughness is also reinforced by a close opposition between Mars/Uranus, which is also symbolic of a woman with a unique type of sex appeal. Barr's Pluto is "angular" on the West Point in Cancer. Fagan described Pluto in Cancer as possibly detrimental to the family unit, which along with Venus, could describe Barr's failed romantic relationships and marriages. Pluto in this light also places Rosanne as an outlier and a lone wolf of sorts.

Last but not least, Barr has a close conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Virgo (background). Obviously, Barr's chart describes an incredibly intelligent woman, so her tweets are probably incredibly engineered to be Political (Libra Sun) and to get her as much attention as possible (Venus Luminaries). With her Neptune/Saturn, the symbol of the abdicator, I believe Barr probably got tired of the pressure of the show and decided to quit on her own terms by firing off racially derogative tweets, unconsciously motivated by her Neptune/Saturn complex.

Yes, her Neptune/Saturn also connects with her Moon which may cause unhappy mental states. And Saturn in the 8th house may be an explanation for her life battles. I have seen a few women with Taurus Moon behaving like crazy, something you'd not expect, imo this may also be something to consider.
Her Sun in Libra (fall) is background and may not be the cause for making a name for herself, I am not sure.

Flo

Venus, yes, it's a remarkable chart. I wish Pluto were closer to Westpoint (it's a bit over 2°), but it does seem to be the peg of her identity in addition to the Libra-Taurus themes you mention. Third would be her Mars aspects: Background and in Sagittarius but closely opposite Uranus and 03' from square Jupiter. Besides the WP Pluto, Mercury is the only foreground planet.

Where the Pluto becomes especially important is when her chart is relocated to Los Angeles, where she broke out. Pluto is within 1° of square MC.

Transiting Pluto now squares her Saturn, taking a jackhammer to the concrete of her security and life-psyche structures. Neptune squares her Venus exactly, meaning unclear. Perhaps most telling, today transiting Mars conjoined her Los Angeles Asc.

Her current SLR (May 15) has Pluto exactly rising with her natal Mars, plus some Mars, Mercury, and natal Sun. Her May 29 Demi has transiting Venus closely angular (with some Saturn and Uranus), but her natal Saturn-Neptune setting, meaning that Venus is paran-square her natal Saturn-Neptune on the angles.

My first impression was that this was an easy was to take the show out. The charts suggest there was nothing voluntary (even subconsciously) about how this all came out. The real sadness is that, since cable networks have permanently cancelled the reruns of her original show, all of her fellow cast members just permanently lost residuals that were probably (in some cases) a significant part of their continuing income.

Speaking to the "involuntary" idea here, she blamed taking Ambien, which she was prescribed for insomnia, for her racist tweets.
Sanofi, the maker of Ambien, responded: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."

Maybe Johnnie Galecki can get the writers to add the rest of the Roseanne cast to Big Bang as his mother's family or something. Won't help the crew, but..

ROFLMAO.

As for the crew: It's always sad to see people lose their job, but the crew is in a business where jobs pop up and disappear quickly. The show is also filmed in LA, not in an obscure location. All or most of them will have another job soon (we're exactly in the time of year that production is gearing up for fall shows). And they aren't due residuals, so they're not losing future income from the cancellation of this show or the pulling of its earlier incarnation off the rerun circuit.

But I'm betting several of the lesser cast members (those who have done little or nothing after the old show) have been counting on that regular residual check, and their economic security depends more than a little on it. No more reruns, no more residuals.

If i needed my residual income to make ends meet and lived near Barr, I would at least cause some damage to her car if possible, maybe let the air out of her tires. Make me feel a little better. :)

Actually, I was thinking they may have grounds for a successful law suit. Her unseamly actions led to consequences that deprived them of income. She has enough money (she's worth $80 million at the moment), there is a direct line of the damaging consequences. Insist on a jury trial for the civil suit because ordinary people are likely to be more {nassed} off than a judge and, in LA, to be especially more {nassed} off at Roseanne.

Hell yes, lets see some law suits! I guess it would depend on the Judge as usually the case to allow a full jury trial.
