Transits to progressed planets

Post by Antares5 »

Are transits to progressed planets valid? And if so, how would you interpret them?

I think thisisall in that thread, but to address it afresh:

Technically all progressed planets and points are subject to transit. The question is, how useful are these individual transits?

In practice, anymore I monitor only transits to progressed Sun and Moon. Transits to progressed Moon are well-documented as being of major importance, and I thik transits to progressed Sun are about the same.

I watched day-to-day transits to all progressed planets for years, and I finally just gave up - almost altogether - on using them. Dropping out the non-luminary contacts cleared up all that "noise."

How about angles? Nope! At least, not the "primary (approximately degree a year) angles that have proven so valuable when they hit natal or progressed planets (and they're really valuable for that). Transits to the same points are worthless, as ifthey're fictitious points that don't really exist.

There is one other situation, though, that deserves attention. When a progressed aspect is very close to maturing, a transit to those specific progressed planets often will be a trigger. I'm not sure though... haven't watched closely enough or kept good enough notes... maybe I've only seen this when it's a progressed-to-natal instead of progressed-to-progressed, or when a progressed luminary is involved - and the "rules" I gave above would already say they're fair game.

Yes, that's what I wanted to know : transits to the progressed luminaries. As I have noticed some happenings when planets cross the middle of a fixed (hub?) sign, leo, scorpio, aquarius and taurus. Eventhough I have nothing at around middle of hub signs that could be aspected by a square, opposition or conjunction, nor do I have anything at the beginning of rim signs that could get a 45 or 135 degree aspect, but then I noticed that my progressed Sun is at 17 Leo, so I thought that this could be the answer.

It's a good guess that it's so, yes - depending on exactly where the exact aspect hits (which longitude it is closest to) and the flavor of the transit.

The only other thing I can see is that the asteroid Vesta was at 16°17' Leo when you were born. You also have some of the more important midpoints there - Moon/Saturn, Sun/Mars - but these would give a more specific quality of their own.

A transit to progressed Sun is a cleaner hit.

Oh, wait... better yet, I think... Your current Solar Return Moon is 0°01' Capricorn. If this phenomenon goes away after your upcoming birthday, I think you can credit it to that. Your progressed Sun is almost 18° Leo, and you did say this happens near the center.

Well the last significant event happened on July 21, when Venus was in conjunction with my progressed Sun. I also noticed some events happening when planets hit the mid hub and beginning of rim range. You're right, that could be the transits to my Solar return Moon.

I forgot to mention : there is one particular degree that keeps popping up very frequently as I was going through some more or less significant events over the last years. 13 Leo. I have no clue what it could be, maybe some significant midpoint. I'll do some research.

Well, though I've been busy debunking this elsewhere, honesty requires that I mention that your Asc/MC midpoint is 13°33' Scorpio, so 13°33' Hub would all be exact ecliptical centers of the four quadrants of your chart. You don't say in which sense these are significant.

Something else that I don't think is strong enough to be a recurring factor, or responsive to transits, is that your Mercury South Node is 13°36' Leo.
