RIP Aretha Franklin

The acknowledged Queen of Soul died in Detroit this morning. She was born March 25, 1942, 10:30 PM, on Memphis, TN.

A Pisces-Gemini, she was an obvious example of the Pisces luminary tendency to produce true divas. As the voice ofscores of songs that became anthems of the civil rights movement and successive human dignity movements, her Saturn-Uranus conjunction is on Westpoint and Venus on IC. She was stunning and moving in every respect.

Having first developed pancreatic cancer years ago - an unusually painful cancer that usually consumes someone very quickly - her final SSR had natal Saturn minutes from square MC and Moon conjunct her Pluto. Her final SLR was less obviously terminal other than the ongoing Moon-Pluto opposition; I'll let everyone study it on their own for its interesting features, especially in the mundoscope.

Death was evidently a release, with transiting Jupiter recently retrograding across her Ascendant. Sun is just starting to cross her Midheaven this morning, so there is an obvious signal of two days of her being duly honored and on everyone's lips. Transiting Pluto opposed natal Moon (41').

As a final signal, transiting Mars is partile opposite her progressed Mars - normally not a serious transit, but it rotated to her SNQ Ascendant this morning.
