The time is from Al Jazeera and stated in GMT. As Kolkata (Calcutta) is 5:30 ahead of Greenwich, this would have been 5:00 PM local time.

Unless the story is how limited the injury was, these are quite poor charts - until we get to the quotidians.

September 6, 2018, at 3:45 PM EDT, New York Tmes published an op-ed of historic importance, written by an anonymous senior Trump administration official documenting a significant group of administration officials intentionally blocking many of Trump's actions and generally finding ways to corral and contain him. (I take the time of "publication" as the time the breaking news email was sent, which was 3:45 PM EDT.)

At the time it hit, Moon opposed Pluto 0°02' (along Washington's Capsolar meridian). In Washington, Saturn was 1°15' above Asc, Venus 0°10' past MC, the two in 1°05' mundane square (and Venus also square Mars: It's clearly an afflicted Venus, marking betrayal etc.). In New York at the same moment, Mars squared MC 0°01': I take this as an act of war and justice (it's a well-aspected Mars in the same way it's an afflicted Venus).

Washington's CapQ has Dsc 2° past STATIONARY transiting Saturn but only 1°32' past ingress Saturn; and MC 1°46' shy of transiting Neptune or 1°05' past ingress Neptune. Transiting Sun has been hovering near CapQ IC for months, and for this event it was 0°10' away, partile opposite ingress Neptune. In short, it's a pure Saturn-Neptune chart with powerful solar involvement that is perfect symbolism for humiliating, wounding, and bringing down a leader.

The timing is interesting since the current Caplunar occurred August 23. For Pyongyang, Saturn is rising and Venus (the precipitation planet) on MC.

A shooter in Bakersfield killed five people and then himself yesterday. Police responded to the first shootings "just after 5 p.m.," so 5:00 PM is a reasonable estimate.

The shooter and his wife were at "a trucking business," an argument ensured, and the husband shot the man at the business then shot his wife and someone else who suddenly appeared at the store. He then went to house nearby (apparently simply because he was fleeing) and killed two people in the house. After the police cornered him, he shot himself.

So Bakersfield was in the line of fire yesterday.

Ah, but the Week chart gets us where we need to be! Mars is 0°54' from Descendant in Capricorn square an opposition of Venus in Libra and Uranus in Aries. (Venus-Uranus is only 0°01' wide.) How's that for a fight with your wife that got out of control!

The CapQ doesn't make the grade: Mars is just over 3° from an angle and I actually expected it to be dead angular for this day of violence suddenly hitting town. The transiting Mercury-Neptune opposition falls across local Capsolar angles for a minor fit. - Absent anything at all from the CapQ, we expect the CanQ to come through.

But it doesn't. Nothing on the CanQ at all. Transits to the Cansolar angles reiterate Jupiter.

So far, BTW, neither the CapQ nor the CanQ has been wrong - neither of them has said anything (only transits to the ingress angles have had anything at all to say) - we we're quite entitled to look at minor angles for this local "event of the day."

We find something in the LibQ. Universally, LibQ Moon squares s Pluto 0°34'. Local to Bakersfield, transiting Mars conjoins MC at the outskirts of the usual orb (2°) and transiting Uranus is 0°19' from EP.

if we check the PSSI rate to the four solar ingresses (mean PSSI) we get:

Super Typhoon Mangkhut (aka Ompong), hailed as the most powerful storm of the year and one of the most powerful ever, has made landfall in the Philippines with 165 mph maximum sustained winds and gusts of 200 mph (effectively a Category 5 hurricane). It is expected to match the impact of Super Typhoon Haiyan, which is discussed in SMA.

Location: Identified as "northern Philippines" and as "the northern parts of Luzon Island." Based on this description, I'm going to pick Gonzaga as marking about where it hit (preferring it to something like Tuguegarao because Gonzaga marks the longitude of the eastern coast better).

UPDATE (10/12): 134 deaths (127 in Philippines), $1.59 billion in damages. Peak sustained winds were 180 mph. Landfall is now given as Baggao (17N56, 121E46) at 2:00 AM PST on 9/15, but sustained winds then only 125 mph and gusts at 165 mph (clarifying the note above). The charts below need to be reworked slightly.

Notice that, with transiting Pluto at 23°49' Sagittarius today, the Philippines Cansolar Asc is 23°41' Pisces and the Wrightsville Beach, NC Capsolar Asc is 24°18' Virgo.

CNN reported this morning:

There’s been a "horrific escalation of violence" in the central African nation of Cameroon. About 400 civilians have been killed this year in attacks between armed separatist groups and security forces in English-speaking parts of the country, including cases of kidnapping and a beheading, Amnesty International said. Most people -- and the central government -- in Cameroon speak French, and English speakers say they’ve been marginalized in educational and legal systems. Some English speakers want to secede, but Cameroon's government has allegedly used its military to tamp down that sentiment.

Run an astro-map for the Capsolar and you will see Uranus and Pluto lines intersecting right in the middle of Cameroon. Or set up the Capsolar for Yaoundé, the capital, and see Pluto 0°02' from Asc and Uranus 0°45' from IC, in 0°43' mundane square (plus the Moon-Mercury-Saturn the world has: That perpetual Moon-Saturn has been rough this year.)

Today's Caplunar puts a Mars line right through the country. For the capital, Mars is 0°23' from EP and 2v from Asc. They also get the Venus-Uranus opposition along the meridian (square Moon), but not as closely as the Mars.

Shooting at Rite Aid dispatch center. Three killed plus the shooter (unusually: it was a female shooter); three more wounded. Time of 9:06 is for the first call to police.

This was the third major ("high-profile") shooting in roughly 24 hours, all in the immediate wake of a new Caplunar with an exact Mars-Uranus square dominating the angles for Washington. Considering the rarity of female mass shooters, I find it interesting that in my monthly forecast I wrote, "Widely angular Venus and Moon are unlikely to soften this. Rather, Moon and Venus likely identify the context or target, such as children or perhaps women figuring vividly in the events." The angles for the shooting are approximately those of the Caplunar.

A "dangerously overcrowded" ferry overturned on Lake Victoria killing at least 44 people (the actual number is difficult to ascertain because the number of passengers on the boat is unknown; it was possibly 400-500). 37 people were saved. The accident was somewhere between the islands of Ukora and Bugolora on Lake Tanzania. UPDATE 9/23: 224 dead.

No time is given. Reports of rescue efforts lead me to believe it was in the afternoon.

A spot about halfway between Ukora and Bugolora (near Kweru Island) is 2S03, 32E58.

Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, who appointed and has supervised the Mueller investigation, is headed to the White House where (he says) he expects to be fired this morning.

UPDATE: He's not getting fired today. He's meeting with Trump Thursday to discuss his future. Interestingly, Thursday is also when Dr. Ford is testifying, and is the day after a treacherous Arilunar.

In the "isn't it gone yet?" wake of Hurricane Florence, the three rivers that bound Georgetown, SC have been expected to break their banks today or tomorrow unleashing 10 feet or deeper flooding throughout the town.

Like much of the East Coast, Georgetown has Pluto on IC in the CAPSOLAR (0°39') and Uranus in orb of WP. In the CANSOLAR (again like much of the East) Moon rises in PVP square to Neptune.

This week's destructive assault potential is marked by the CAPLUNAR:

Today transiting Pluto is 0°36' from Capsolar Nadir and CapQ MC exactly squares transiting Saturn (with Dsc moving into orb of Pluto within about a day and lasting the rest of the week).

Floods are normally marked by Uranus and Jupiter, backed by Saturn. No Jupiter this time - which makes a lot of sense because the rain isn't right now, it was a wee or two ago, and there are no structural failures such as a dam rupturing. There's just water from overloaded rivers finally bursting their banks and likely wiping out a town more or less.

UPDATE: As of 26th evening, this hasn't hit yet and is now expected to be less than 5 feet deep. (Big difference!)

This one should show marks of travel/vehicular crises plus at least one main chart with clear, dominant Jupiter and Venus for a good outcome, especially since the cause was sudden weather shift with pounding rain.

A Boeing 737 with 47 people aboard attempted to land at Weno, Micronesia airport and came down before the runway (fell short). It crashed in the Pacific. Everyone survived (and apparently nobody was even hurt) thanks to local fisherman mobilizing within minutes to pull them all out.

I don't have a time, but noon is fine for a quick check. Photos show it was indeed daytime. I have the coordinates for Weno itself above (it doesn't seem to appear in the American Atlas). ADDED: Time was 10:10 LT (0:10 UT).

The CAPSOLAR has Neptune on MC (and the universal Moon-Mercury-Saturn). Oops!

The CANSOLAR has Jupiter square MC as its primary feature (with secondary Mercury and Mars - not a bad chart, actually). Mars-Jupiter are square in mundo.

The CAPLUNAR has a Sun-Mercury conjunction exactly on IC - transportation stuff would be the news, for example - and more widely angular Saturn and Neptune. Again, the proportions of all this are right.

The ARILUNAR has Venus half a degree from Ascendant and even closer to IC - with Mars square Uranus. Again, all the right pieces are here in the right proportion, except (if this were the only chart we had to go on) it could use a Mercury presence.

the CAPQ has transiting Jupiter and ingress Mars square Ascendant, with Jupiter closer. Again, perfect proportion! (More than one planet can have voice, but Jupiter is on top, Mars comes secondary yet strong.)
