Indoor pyrotechnics ignited plastic foam (sound insulation) on walls and ceilings. "The blaze reached flashover within one minute," igniting everything and unleashing thick black smoke that filled the club in minutes. 100 died, 230 injured, 132 escaped unharmed. As usual, some blocked exits made matters worse.

Wikipedia says this is the 4th deadliest nightclub fire in US history (after Iroquois, Cocoanut Grove, and Conway, presumably). I also have Beverly Hills Supper Club (165 died) and Rhythm Club (200 died) which were rightly "club fires."

The fire began with Mercury-Neptune conjoined on the Nadir opposite Jupiter on the Zenith.
