Jupiter and Cancer

Post by sotonye »

The Cancer Moons and Suns I know come off to me as acutely Jupiterian and I'm very confused by this, they have the same way of carrying themselves, the same self importance, the same generosity and professional ambitions as the Sagittarians I know! Before looking at the charts of these individuals I had been prompted to do so by the pomp of their character, I had no doubt I'd find some involvement of the great benefic in every instance, but found only the home of the Moon! I'm having a hard time drawing the link between the two, I mean Cancer is the sign of Jupiter's exaltation, but does that really mean the sign is uniquely jovial? Is the Moon similar to Jupiter?

You got it right: Cancer is Jupiter's exaltation. Exaltations are indifferent from rulerships in the sense that they both mean the sign is observed to be substantially like its dignified planets and unlike its debilited planets,

Therefore, we expect Cancer to be like Moon and like Jupiter, while unlike Saturn and unlike Mars.

Similarly, you can observe the difference between Taurus, which is venereal but also lunar (with many obvious similarities between Cancer and Taurus), while Libra is venereal but saturnine. The Saturn tone of Libra vs. lunar tone of Taurus is dramatically obvious when you look.

Similarly, Virgo and Gemini both have only Mercury dignified; but Virgo is opposite Pisces, so it is un-Venus and un-Neptune (while Gemini has no pointed absence of those traits), while Gemini is opposite Sagittarius un-Jupiter (while Virgo has no pointed absence of those traits).

Bottom line on your question: Yes, Cancer and Sagittarius are the two Jupiter constellations.
