Andrew Johnson impeachment

Post by Jim Eshelman »

I haven't looked at this one before. President Andrew Johnson was impeached February 24, 1868. Articles of impeachment were finalized in the House March 2, 1868, with the trial beginning March 5. A first vote failing to convict occurred May 16, and final acquittal was May 26.

Johnson was born December 29, 1808 in Raleigh, NC. The usual birth time given is 0:34 AM LMT, but it's of uncertain source. If the birth time is correct, then his SSR had a precisely angular Jupiter and widely angular Saturn (conjunct his natal Saturn), which is about right. Impeachment occurred with Uranus opposite his Sun, Neptune on his Descendant, Pluto square his Venus, and a Sun-Saturn square touching his Neptune. The trial began with much the same outer aspects, and Mars exactly square his Saturn. Final acquittal occurred with those transits having backed off - none of them in partile orb - and Jupiter just entered into partile square to his Sun.

The Capsolar is dormant. THE CANSOLAR has Neptune 32° from IC, with a Moon-Uranus mundane opposition. THE CAPLUNAR a few days before impeachment is not too remarkable, having Moon exactly on IC, and a widely foreground Neptune.

On the date of impeachment, transiting Mars squared Capsolar Asc. CapQ wasn't all that remarkable except for a positive (and perhaps judicial) tone, having Jupiter a degree or so off its MC and ingress Moon exactly on IC. Neptune sat on Cansolar IC for the whole time.

A more thorough exploration of this event begins here:

It appears that the trial is a much more interesting event astrologically than the impeachment.

The actual trial culminated in a vote May 16th 1868, 1:00 PM LMT, in Washington.

If judged dormant, it is worth observing the Canlunar, which again had Uranus closely angular - this time, rising.
