Retrogradation

Post by sotonye »

If retrogradation is just an illusion and not really anything more, wouldn't the angularity and aspects made with a retrograde planet be illusory too? Since its apparent position is not its real one?

Geocentrically (the perspective from which astrology is generally practiced and dependent), its position is its real position.

Seeing it from a different perspective is no more real than seeing it from this perspective.

Okay thank you Mr. E.

Does retrogradation have any affect at all on the nature or expression of a planet? Or can it be disregarded

I'm on the run today, older threads here discuss this lengthily.

If you type "retrograde" in the search box (upper right of any page on solunars,) you'll get 5 pages of hits. If you go to the last page, and page forward from there, you'll see the posts we deemed most useful when we moved the forum over to the new site. They're all dated early May two years ago. I think the second to the last page covers a lot of bits from Donald Bradley's columns.

Is the slight suppression of a retrograde planet's nature still apparent when that planet is angular?

I can't discern that it is. In fact, I'm not sure ive ever discerned it honestly in any condition, though it does have a weak statistical discernment (the groups were all vocational.)

Okay thank you Mr. E, I'm confident then that I can ignore it
