Pain in the Neck
I mean I have one, and not just "I musta slept wrong." I got it settled down last night enough to sleep, but yesterday and today it keeps getting worse through the day. My doctor gave me a muscle relaxant but it doesn't help and aspirin doesn't touch it, just gives me tinnitus.
Anybody have any suggestions about what aspects, transits, progressions, directions might be related to this, and most important, when it will go away?

Re: Pain in the Neck
Yikes, that kind of thing is not fun at all . Do you think it is something in the cervical area of the spine or lower? (A lot of neck-bindings arise from compensation or defense from mid-back stuff.)
When did this start? Yesterday, or farther back?
Let's look at the charts...
Checking transits, the first thing I see is Pluto square your Moon (currently half a degree), which would usually be more emotional purging and various psychological "letting go" matters but could, of course, somatize on its way out.
Venus is square your Saturn, again suggesting an emotional matter (and I'm proud of you because that transit usually means "resistant to asking for help"). Since your Saturn is in Leo (the spine axis) and Venus is in Taurus (the neck axis), we have to consider that this aspect is actually describing what's going on - which would mean that it's fast.
You have a new SLR today just before 7 PM and would have been feeling it for about a day in advance. It's main feature is your Saturn (in Leo) at MC squared by Venus, again suggesting an emotional matter stirring this up. If it's this SLR that's timing the pain, then it should resolve within 2 weeks. (That aspect is also on your 26°29' Taurus SSR Ascendant.)
I keep getting the idea from various coming-and-going aspects that there's something you're resisting doing or saying. For example, in addition to the above, transiting Mercury just opposed your SSR Mars and transiting Mars is about to do the same.
The Mars is on your SQ Nadir yesterday - suitable for a "pain day" or two - and, if that's the exciting factor, it should clear in another day or so. Oh, and your SNQ has natal Mars on IC, peaking today, with another day or so to clear orb. This seems to be the acute phase.

Re: Pain in the Neck
Thanks for the kind wishes, Veronica.
Jim it's in the muscles on the right side of my neck. Hurts to touch outside, hurts to swallow with head tipped back (like draining a glass.)
It's better in the morning and worse as the day goes on. I don't think it's emotional, although I suppose anything's possible.
Tomorrow or Friday I'm going to the doctor.
I'm already tired of this. The microwave died Sunday about 2:30 PM, and the big computer upstairs needs a new CMOS battery, and I found the stems so I can fix the leaky faucet, but I can't do any of that because I hurt too much.
Thanks for taking a look, Jim. I really appreciate it.

Re: Pain in the Neck
I missed saying. It started Sunday afternoon, got really bad Sunday night. It's worse in the evening than it is in the morning. It's better this evening than yesterday I have done less today.
Re: Pain in the Neck
Jupe,
Years ago my wife experience a very painful neck situation. She went to her Doctor who prescribe muscle relaxants, which did not work. Finally my wife went to a Physical Therapist here in Springville, and my wife stated getting immediate results for the pain with the Therapist's treatment. My wife had to do special follow-up home exercises with instructions from the Therapist to get her neck back to normal. My wife can’t remember exactly the Therapist’s diagnosis of her neck problem, she thinks it had something to do with frozen muscles in her neck. If your neck pain does not improve back to normal and if you think it may help you with your decisions in the future, I can go to the Therapist in Springville and get em to pull my wife’s file for the Therapist's exact diagnosis.

Re: Pain in the Neck
Thanks Steve. I don't need an exact diagnosis. My doctor will send me to PT if I ask. But first he'll test me for West Nile (we have the highest instance of West Nile in the US here) and tick-borne diseases, since I just took a tick off my arm Sunday.
I think it's just I overdid at the wrong time and need the @#$%^& high pressure system to move out. I get a lot of pain that suddenly goes away when the weather changes. Which won't be for another week.

If it's those quotidians, they should be lifting about today. Any relief?

Re: Pain in the Neck
The heating pad is helping this morning. I'm also getting used to turning my whole body instead of just my head, so that's helping too. Moving wrong is still punishing, but better is still better.
I appreciate your asking.

Re: Pain in the Neck
Very sorry about your neck pain, JSAD
I hope that this is all just some tight, stubborn muscles and that it all gets well soon.
I had neck pain (the "slept wrong" type) early in my 2016 SSR, it seemed fitting for the rising Saturn in Scorpio (neck & throat) that was in the chart. It took a week to fully get okay, my mother got an Indonesian to massage my neck and upper back. And yeah, moving wrong was very punishing.

Thanks Scales.
It's much, much better today. Still need to be careful, but I can turn my head! Things, including me, are looking up.
