The Mary Turner lynchings

Post by Jim Eshelman »

May 19, 1918, noon, near Little River, GA
[Note: I can't find coordinates for Little River. - not the one in that county I'll use Valdosta for now.]

This is one of the most horrible stories you'll ever read. Therefore, please don't clock the link and read it unless you are really prepared for graphic details of inhumanity. (All of you know I will dare much, and this one draws a line in the sand for me.) Here is a good summary: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_1918_lynchings

The main points are this: In 1918 a man named Hampton Smith was murdered. Numerous lynchings occurred in response. One man lynched was Hayes Turner, hanged (theoretically) abducted from sheriff custody and then May 18, 1918 near Valdosta, GA. He was left hanging from the tree for several days.

His wife, Mary Turner (eight months pregnant), openly denounced the lynching and denied her husband's guilt. A mob turned on her and she fled, but was seized (by a mob of several hundred men and women) May 19, 1918 at noon. She was taken to the Little River river banks near Folsom Bridge: Though I can't find it exactly, there is a modern town of Little River, GA that is near a river of the same name and is close to Valdosta, so those coordinates are probably sufficiently good. Events surely took a few hours but noon is a good enough time and did mark a specific event.

What then occurred to her were grievous atrocities that I won't describe. They were sufficient to fuel NAACP anti-lynching literature for decades.

This was the most egregious of the lynchings, but hardly the only one in that dark burst of lynchings. Notice that she was seized by the ob as Saturn (conjunct Neptune) rose, mundane square Mercury on MC. - There is a lot of Jupiter in these charts (enough to cause me to technically score them as poor charts); but Jupiter has already established itself as the planet of social, racial, economic, and religious bigotry, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise.

Little River Ga set-up a very nasty symbolic theme for its 1918 Capsolar-- with a tight mundo angular Saturn/Neptune=Moon. Definitely not a good location for possible benefic events, but a possible prime location(s) for malefic events.!!! And in 1918 for this small rural area we know this racial injustice was the main event/theme for the Capsolar year. I have noticed when there is racial injustices-- SMA charts have a propensity for Neptune wired into other symbolic factors.

Yes, there was a Moon-Mars conjunction when she was siezed, among other things.

I don't think that's the right location for Little River. There are three, all near each other, but this one has to be almost next to Valdosta, which is 3° in latitude. I'll use Valdosta for now and try to pin it down better in the future.

Valdosta, Ga 1918 Capsolar:

Valdosta, mundanely shows a most powerful mundo midpoints with this planetary picture, I think.

Saturn/Neptune =Moon/ASC, under 1 degree orb, mundanely.

I'll look later. More simply, Sa/Ne is half a degree from Dsc, which is the most distinctive thing about the Capsolar.

Also, as discussed earlier on another matter, the angular Moon alone shows the "mob" temperament - in this case, of hundreds of people! These days (in Hong Kong), that's called a riot :)

So, Steve, that Saturn + Neptune that caught your eye was the real mark of the event.

History records she was seized by the mob at noon: Saturn was rising at the time, with Neptune only a few degrees away.

The Capsolar has its problems (especially the partile foreground Venus-Jupiter mundane square), but it does have Moon exactly rising opposite the Saturn-Pluto on Descendant - mundanely, Sa/Ne is 0°29' from Descendant and 0°25' from Moon or, as you indicated, Mo/As is 0°27', Sa/Ne is 0°29'.

Other solar ingresses, especially the Cansolar and Libsolar, are quite good, but our normal procedure would not have us examining them - so I'll not dwell on them here.

The Bridge narrowed the time of year. Saturn and Uranus transited Capsolar angles May 6 to June 24, pointing to the Arisolar quarter (even though the Arisolar itself was mostly dreadful).

We started to get serious with the Caplunar, which nonetheless was Jupiter-heavy (but with Mars starting to stir things up). Then the real breakthrough is the Week chart: this MOON-based chart has Sun angular with Saturn-Neptune as the SOLAR ingress of the year had Mon angular with Saturn-Neptune.

The only real trigger of the day was Sun hitting Capsolar IC, setting off the Saturn and Uranus transits to the Capsolar.

Yes, this geographic location (Valdosta) was symbolically conducive with angular SA/NE=MO/AS, both of these midpoints being partile cnj Valdosta's Capsolar horizon for these terrible events. The Capsolar is always the Master Chart of the Year for all its geographic locations, particularly with tight angular activity. Its kinda like when we have seen many times a Super Bowl winner fit the benefic symbolism of the cities Capsolar, although the event of the Super Bowl itself happens later than the Capsolar. Or like when we have seen with your panic markets research, the actual panic happen months after the symbolic Capsolar showing panic symbolism. Given the choice of being in a benefic location for the same musical concert in different geographic locations, I want to always avoid any possible malefic Capsolar locations and if possible choose the most benefic Capsolar location for the musical festival. Musical Festivals are major events for a Country and its City and Capsolars are Mater Charts for a given location.

Thank you for posting this.

I need reminders like this because I do have difficulty seeing reality and how ugly some people do get.

It serves me well to keep in the front of my mind that many many many people have cold mean hearts and that I am not doing anybody a favor by pretending the world is love and light at heart.

I only wish that the ancestors of the buttheads who did this could pause and see.....but unfortunately they are most likely still running on hate and fear.
