A fire broke out on the 20th floor of the Address Hotel, a 63 story hotel in Dubai, UAE about 10 PM local time. Apparently no alarms went off.
People are calling for the fireworks display planned to start at Midnight (in about forty minutes as of now) should be cancelled, but the fire department says the fire is about 90% contained and they will have this fire under control before the fireworks start.

Dubai, UAR has the Mars-Saturn square on the Capsolar angles this year. They've come off amazingly well so far, all things considered.
The Libsolar has Saturn tightly on Descendant and Venus square Ascendant, a more nearly perfect chart for the event.
But it misses Mars, and that's brought by the December 14 Caplunar, which has Mars exactly on MC, opposite Uranus on IC (and Mercury rising near Pluto: that sounds like arson to me).
The current Week chart, the Canlunar, in addition to the universal Moon-Mercury-Mars close T-square, has Saturn 1°50' from Ascendant, Jupiter 2°51' from MC on the other side. The mundane Moon-Mars square is only 0°08' wide for Dubai.
The CapQ has fascinating angularities all over the place, of diverse kinds, and does not look like this sort of event. The CanQ is actually better, having ingress and transiting Pluto on IC and square Ascendant, Uranus on Dsc, Mars-Pluto opposition along the meridian, etc. Transiting Mars also squares the Cansolar MC. (I've been noticing that when Cansolar factors feed the Bridge, as in this case, that the CanQ is often more expressive, despite it's usual second-seat to the CapQ.)

It appears one side of the hotel is on fire and the other isn't, so people were able to escape. 16 injuries, 14 of which are "minor" mostly smoke inhalation, one was a fatal heart attack. It's mostly on the outside of the building, so there's no way to get water up there to put it out, but the inside is being well watered, so the place isn't likely to collapse.
Dubai was expecting international attention for it's fireworks. Well, that's what happened.
