Astrology program that shows aspects to 4 cardinal points

Post by tattersol »

I am looking for an astrology program that will calculate sidereal charts, with equal houses based on the Ascendent, geocentric latitude, parallax moon and complete aspects to all four cardinal points in the equal house system. For the present, I transfer house and planetary positions to a database program that calculates the distance of the planets to the cusps. It would be faster if I could find a program that would do this for me. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Solar Fire will do all that.

Many thanks for the information! I still have a 1979 1st edition of your book, "Interpreting Solar Returns". I liked that it used the equal house system exclusively, though you did not explain why. It was not until I read the American Astrology November-December 1979 article, Astrology's Not Perfect! by Moby Dick that I was convinced that the only viable house system is the equal house based on the ascendant.

It didn't use the equal house system :)

Don Jacobs and, especially, his son Jayj were good friends back in the day, though.

Might be worth mentioning here. Many of us don't use any house system. Those that do usually use Campanus. Campanus is based on dividing up the Prime Vertical so it shows proximity to angles better than other house systems.

But many of us don't use any house system at all, because there's very little evidence any house system works for anything. If you look at recent charts Jim has posted, they show the MC-IC axis and the horizon line. No houses at all.

Most of us also don't use horary style stuff like the ruler of the first house is exalted in the sign in the 8th house meaning something or other so really we don't need houses.
