MSM natal chart
According to my birth certificate, I was born at 2:53 am, on February 11, 1977, in Harbor City, California, USA.
*At the moment, I'm primarily concerned with gaining some insight into what I might be able to do to protect myself from the impending Saturnian doom that started today and continues through May.

Re: MSM natal chart
I forget exactly where on the forum Jim was discussing a type of general forecast for the nation and the world regarding Saturn entering Capricorn. He cited historical trends and events that occurred during other similar periods. That's what I was referring to since I know my Sun sign is Capricorn. I'm extremely inexperienced with sidereal astrology so if I'm way off with this I apologize.

Re: MSM natal chart
This post?
Your natal sun is at 28 Capricorn 11:03 which Saturn will reach about March 2022 and pass back and forth through January 2023. Saturn will oppose your natal Saturn around January 2022. You've lived through Saturn aspecting your Sun and your Saturn before. I wouldn't get too excited about it. Saturn is restricting. You don't have enough (often enough money) to do what you want. So maybe start putting some away now so you have enough during the transit.
Seriously, two planets being in the same sign at the same time isn't usually meaningful, other than you'll notice more of the sign than you would otherwise.
You have a partile square between your Sun and Jupiter, with the Moon about 4° away from squaring both. That's a good thing.
I'll try to get a workup done for you tonight.
Edited to give Saturn dates.

SIDEREAL NATAL HOROSCOPE
Provided for your convenience by Jupiter Sets at Dawn from Jim's template
MLM – Natal Chart

Harbor City, CA, 33°N47', 118°W18'
Sidereal Zodiac – Campanus Houses
INTRODUCTION
These notes on your Sidereal Natal Horoscope are provided for your reference and study. They are not a full interpretation of your birth chart; rather, they are building blocks from which a full interpretation can be built.
Each factor listed below contributes to your character. These paragraphs commonly repeat or contradict each other. (We all have contradictions.) Though it does not take an astrologer to fuse these factors into a balanced picture of you and your life, it does require knowledge of human behavior and the ways that people support and sabotage themselves. Your astrologer, having these skills and knowing this symbolic language, can help you in this process. However, knowing yourself is a life-long undertaking. I encourage you to read through these notes, feeling your way through the interweaving ideas and reflecting on what you know of yourself.
The paragraphs are brief. Jim has sought to pack in everything essential, to use a few words to imply much more. Not every phrase will apply, of course. Some will be more important than others; but the gist of each section should clearly reflect truth about you. When you have spent time with this and have new questions, consult your astrologer to discuss them.
Character is destiny. Who you are determines the life that is yours to unfold. “Know thyself” is the key.
ANGULAR PLANETS
Angular planets are the most expressive in your horoscope. Here follows the meaning of any angular planet(s) in your horoscope.
Angular Venus 1° west of IC
VENUS portrays our affection needs (to love & be loved, give & receive nurturing; affiliation, sex, shared play). Psychologically it is giving & receiving love; harmony, pleasure; gentle, esthetic, receptive, but natural, guileless, searching for meaning. These faculties are especially strong in your character.
Charming, attractive, popular. Friendly, amiable, gracious. Kind, considerate, benevolent. Flirtatious, affectionate (sexually more receptive than aggressive). Loving, caretaking, mothering. Drawn to beauty, pleasure, peace, tranquility (not pain, violence, turbulence); averse to cruelty & harm. Needs to experience pleasure & beauty; requires harmony & ease (reduced stress & friction). Stubborn & fierce toward injustice (personal or social).
Angular Neptune 5° south of Asc
NEPTUNE portrays our merger and reality-forging needs; that is, the process of forming our selective reality through selective perception; the experience of the ACTUAL derived from the IDEAL; the individual submerged within the Collective; and connection, absorption, and complexity. These faculties are especially strong in your character.
Sensitive, vulnerable, feels strongly (tunes into others deeply, not always accurately; feels exposed, over-response). Naturally absorbs & mirrors others’ traits. Sympathy, compassion, empathy (or emotional drama, insecurity, easily hooked, betrayed). Lives in own reality, tenacious with their viewpoint, impervious to logic, passionate about what uniquely frames their view (forges perception of the actual from their concept of the ideal). Favors complexity over simplicity. Dwells within the unknown, choosing mystery over revelation.
MOON
MOON portrays our adaptation and response (instincts, plasticity; adaptation to physical, social, & psychological habitats). Psychologically it is receptivity, adaptability, sensitivity, appetite, imagination, the immediacy of feelings, personality (mannerisms, idiosyncrasies, tastes), and that which we reveal most easily, which adapts us to our environment and absorbs conditions around it.
Moon in Scorpio
Socially active party-people: good-natured, friendly, humor. Willing to be outlandish. Factually forthright; emotionally cautious (withholding); senses others’ motives. Sexual volcanoes: built pressure needs explosive release. Sexually pragmatic. Frequent relationship drama; combative. Easy to anger (it passes). Bold, adventurous, restless, “try anything.” Gossip (sometimes vindictive). Beliefs likely unorthodox.
Moon square Sun (4° orb)
Energetic, dynamic, terrific drive, forceful. Psychic vitality, a mental-emotional attitude biased toward success. At home with power. Intense desire in whatever they undertake. High vitality (unless the luminaries are afflicted). Sexual desires also particularly strong, passionate, though often narcissistic. Possible vanity, self-exaltation, and obstinacy.
Moon square Jupiter (4° orb)
Ambitious, desires success, aspires to take the lead. A natural ‘host,’ likes to play ringmaster in all life areas including in social & sexual hospitality. Usually good-humored, entertaining, kind, generous. Drawn to quality, desires only the best (things & circumstances) for self & loved ones. Strong beliefs (often religious or patriotic intensity, moralistic, judgmental). Social elitism (possible feigned superiority, aristocratic conceit).
SUN
SUN portrays our individuation needs (the Hero’s Quest). Psychologically it is our sense of identity and purpose (direction); “What you are” at the core of your identity; and all forms of authority, power, eminence, leadership.
Sun in Capricorn
Survival and autonomy needs foremost. Sociable; not self-disclosing. Humor, storyteller, prankish, music. Good resource manager. Struggles against tough odds. Discontent, combative, resists persuasion and conformity. Values past; defies status quo. Emotions cautious initially. Extreme libido.
Sun partile square Jupiter (0° orb)
Generous, kind, warm, amiable, upbeat, tolerant. Visible self-confidence. Strong need for acceptance and friendship. A general dislike of problems (seems to float through life with amazingly little care for circumstances). Lucky: confident the universe will bail them out, problems usually resolve remarkably easily, but has a hard time persevering against real adversity when it finally strikes. (Extravagant, prodigal, loves leisure, overly reliant on luck.) Mind is philosophical or religious.
MARS
MARS portrays our power needs (aggression, dominance, controlling others, opposition, independence, defense). Psychologically it is aggression, competition, need for physical expression, sexual aggression, courage, strength, effort, struggle, and pain.
Mars in Capricorn
Courage, stands own ground (prefers action to complaining). Confrontational, discontent: creates unnecessary struggle & conflict (over authority, control, father issues). Private, secretive, self-veiling. (Mysterious façade, or deceptive; to avoid control, look good, or not be found out). Much unresolved shadow; vulnerable to dark moods; carries past darkness around. Sexually forthright (strong needs + practicality).
Mercury conjunct Mars (1° orb)
Mind is high-powered, quick, dynamic, strategic. Physical and mental responses are both fast. Forthright, candid, speaks directly, independent of thought, enjoys a good argument (mental/verbal competition). Pre-dominantly a creative type. Quick wit, edgy sense of humor. Talent with hands. Prone to irritability, nervous frustration, fault-finding, obstinacy, opinionation. High vulnerability to addiction.
MERCURY
MERCURY portrays our information needs (e.g., curiosity, gaining & sharing information). Psychologically it is curiosity, perceptiveness; the gathering, storing, interpreting, and sharing of information; mental faculties, communication, and nervous sensitivity.
Mercury in Capricorn
A quiet (playfully perverse) pride in their disagreeable opinions & autonomous thinking. Enjoys shock value of spouting unusual ideas. Mind inquisitive, enthusiastic, with a sense of the macabre. Resists being convinced. Careful, methodical, orders information effectively.
VENUS
VENUS portrays our affection needs (to love & be loved, give & receive nurturing; affiliation, sex, shared play). Psychologically it is giving & receiving love; harmony, pleasure; gentle, esthetic, receptive, but natural, guileless, searching for meaning.
Venus in Pisces
Fantasy relationships. Tender, vulnerable, exploring mystery of another. Wants “true friend” who won’t betray. Charmers, weave endearing image (tend to get their way). Seducible, easily enticed, suggestible. Fond of strong erotic imagery & sensory stimuli. Passions easily aroused, torrential. Mystic; God connection. Receptive to beauty; artistic interests. Can be unreasoning, led by instinct (a few are plain crazy).
Venus opposite Pluto (6° orb)
“All or nothing” emotional intensity instinctively rejects others’ (moral and other) arbitrary values on love, sex, art. Typically has few intimates, and those of unfiltered intensity. Halfway measures are not enough; in human connection, the feeling is, “go cosmic, or go home.” Those expressing the ALL mode seek deep, penetrating connections (sometimes overwhelming intimates, sometimes inadvertently challenging social codes). Those in the NOTHING mode may choose it innocently or withdraw from people in response to repeated rebuke and ostracism. For both, sexual development may come late, as adolescent social rituals seem perplexingly arbitrary. Either may experience eruptive trouble in relationships. Either, by their intensity, can be commandingly charismatic.
Venus trine Saturn (4° orb)
Work, duty, devotion are gratifying. Restrictions in love; ordinary pleasures may be deferred. Many seem comfortable unpartnered, though there is rarely sexual restraint. Childhood hardship or deprivation shape adult patterns. Sober, responsible.
JUPITER
JUPITER portrays our ambition needs (for achievement, recognition, exhibition, & esteem). Psychologically it is our draw toward the highest and best, to better oneself, to be liked and included; fortune, optimism, enthusiasm, generosity; religious urges & the striving for superiority.
SATURN
SATURN portrays our materialistic needs (to acquire, construct, order, retain, including especially the survival instinct). Psychologically it is self-preservation, survival; the need for self-reliance, emotional distance, & material security; inhibition & withdrawing. It limits, restrains, restricts, and defines.
Saturn square Uranus (1° orb)
Well-developed autonomy, firmly defended; self-willed (acting out). Resists persuasion: navigates life and makes decisions on own terms (cantankerous obstinacy but not necessarily confrontational about it). Hard to pigeon-hole, thinks and acts outside of stereotypes. Need to “find their own word” and give it voice. Much of their life is about “holding it together” (some succeed, some don’t).
Saturn trine Neptune (3° orb)
Bridges ideal with actual, renders a vision concrete (creativity realized). Devoted, loyal. Often indifferent to material security: Many withdraw, retire, enter seclusion or asylum. Chronic physical or psychological affliction (disabling?), can include dark states, depression, distrust, struggles with demons.
Saturn sextile Pluto (1° orb)
“Runs their own show,” needs autonomy, makes up own rules. Lone wolf: solitary path is more natural; partnership requires more effort. Stubborn, tenacious (entrenched, defiant). Hard-working, responsible. Takes everything on own shoulder (vulnerable to burn-out).
URANUS
URANUS portrays our freedom & renewal needs. Psychologically it is freedom, discovery & disclosure, revelation, revolution, liberation; the IDEAL forged from experience of the ACTUAL; the Individual distinct from the collective; delivery, release, birthing, uniqueness; and the simple, naked, candid, and exposed.
NEPTUNE
NEPTUNE portrays our merger needs. Psychologically it is the process of forming our selective reality through selective perception; the experience of the ACTUAL derived from the IDEAL; the individual submerged within the Collective; and connection, absorption, and complexity.
Neptune sextile Pluto(2° orb)
Open to shifting point of view, alternative perspectives, variant possibilities: Potential to forge a new worldview and enroll others. Uncertainty feeds desire for certainty, regarding things a certain way and not other.
PLUTO
PLUTO portrays our existential (authenticity) needs. Psychologically it is the uncompromisable SEED-ESSENCE of being, “The Hidden One” (being one’s inherent, singled-out self aside from all conditioning and selection) buried in our inmost depths; and the miraculous.

Re: MSM natal chart
When you moved to Tuscon, you put Pluto right on your Midheaven.
You retain your natal angles as well. This is added on top, and often feels more immediate.

Social outliers needing to be authentically themselves, without labels or arbitrary standards or expectations. Eccentric, antisocial, outrageous; won’t melt into the conventional collective. Singularly unique in their context, on their own path (vulnerable to persecution). Gentle, inoffensive, innocent, shy. (If severely afflicted: cruel, unfeeling, inhuman.) Grapples with spiritual actualities.

Re: MSM natal chart
Ok, so, I often find it challenging to shine the spotlight on myself. I usually feel like it will bore or irritate people since the majority of us are primarily concerned with ourselves and not other people and their individual interpretations of their personal reality tunnels. I typically defer (a learned Codependent habit) to other people and feel more comfortable in the role of the listener/consoler/counselor. However, I tend to be a wordy fellow when I feel comfortable and allow the floodgates to part. So, I'm forcing myself to stay with this awkward discomfort and indulge for the sake of knowing myself better since this forum was created for people to do just that (among other things).
With that preamble out of the way, I am most surprised at how little my horoscope says about my past choices and the ways I've chosen to display my public persona up to this point in my life. What I mean by that has to do with the idea of contradictions that you touched on. While much of what was described is, in fact, the deeper truth of myself that I know well at my secret center, there was little that described some of the traits and habits I've purposely employed in order to "protect" my inherent vulnerability/sensitivity. I've felt the need to act and portray myself in a way that is more in line with what is stereotypically/socially acceptable as "masculine" while my sensual nature is much softer (dare I say feminine). I learned to feel shame about my natural sensitivity and caregiving/nurturing instincts. However, this helps me understand why the few times I allowed myself to act in ways adversely opposed to my true nature they ended up in some of the most disturbing and painfully upsetting experiences of my life. What I gather from this is that I have been living a lie much of the time; playing a twisted type of tug-o-war with a perceived adversary who was actually MYSELF. That was startling for me. I've been fighting myself, stifling my instinct and withholding my nature out of fear of judgment, condemnation, criticism and embarrassment. I was operating under the assumption that I had to change things about myself (who I truly am) in order to "become" a "real man". It's a bizarre realization but one that is welcome and long overdue.
Another point that stuck out to me was all the talk/description of power and being a leader and driven etc., is something that I have turned away from since I can remember. I don't relate to that at all. I'm puzzled at how that might be expressed in a way that is more in tune with my sense of self? Or could I simply (perhaps, more honestly?) be so disconnected from my true nature that I feel/experience the mirror image of those qualities as more authentic to myself?
Anyway, I could go on and on but...

Re: MSM natal chart
I'm on the road so haven't been able to respond to much. The almost three-year Saturn in Capricorn passage is universal - everyone in the world - and not distinctive to you personally. Perhaps the fact that your Sun is in Capricorn (in the exact exaltation degree of Mars, 28° Capricorn), if anything, equips you better for a time when the world likely will struggle with survival demands, narrowing space, and issues of self-sufficiency.
Your natal chart is somewhat split in this regard. On the one hand, you have strong innate traits that make you a natural survivor - Sun and Mars in Capricorn with Moon in Scorpio. On the other hand, your exactly angular (exalted) Venus and more modestly rising Neptune gives you more of an esthetic, sensitive temperament. You are more of a natural for peace, love, and art than for struggle and you have unusual empathy for a Capricorn. Your exact Mercury-Mars conjunction is also creative, with a keen and strategic mind bursting with ideas fighting too get out, perhaps bridging these two sides.
Saturn will move across your Mercury, Mars, and Sun, opposite your Saturn, and then on to square your Moon and Jupiter over the next three years. These will have their individual challenges and growth opportunities when they occur but don't warrant deep worry. You went through something similar beginning about 7 years ago and about 8 years before that. (You might think back to review what the two to three years beginning 7 and 15 - I'm estimating - to see what you dealt with, where you had to struggle, what you learned from it and how you were changed by it.)
Neptune squares your Neptune at present. It's been going on a while, so you're headed to wrapping it up over the next year. This sometimes seems like nothing is going on other than unease and a little distrust of conditions, or sometimes it may seem like a bigger deal transit. I think the major feature (that combines all of these) is that your subconscious mind is much more active, demanding much more of your psychic energy, perhaps pulling energy and "presence" (awareness) from the conscious mind. (If you are indeed an artistic, esthetically creative type, then this Neptune has likely enhanced your esthetic sensitivity.)
Turning to your Solar Return, if you've spent any significant part of the last year in Tucson it's probably been rough. Your nearly-complete Sidereal Solar Return has Saturn and Pluto (especially Saturn), with Saturn square your natal Pluto. You can look all these up but, basically, it means things are rough, demanding, taking things away, pushing separations. This is almost over.
Your new Solar Return February 12 carries some of this forward since Pluto and Saturn square MC in Tucson. (Same Saturn-Pluto, but Pluto emphasized more than Saturn.) I think Tucson isn't a good place to spend your birthday - you can set up a better year somewhere else. (There is a nice Moon-Venus opposition square Ascendant, so its not all rough.)
LA isn't ideal either, with Mars rising. You do have Jupiter rising on a curve from mid-Oklahoma to mid-to-north Minnesota. For example, it goes right through Wichita. You also have that nice Moon-Venus opposition square Asc along a curve from mid-Colorado through the Dakota's - the Denver area and other northeast Colorado is a good spot. (Just get to the east side of the Rockies to put the Saturn-Pluto lines behind you.)
I'm changing my mind on LA. It's complicated. Mars is rising but Jupiter is exactly square MC. It's a bold, enterprising chart, tipped even more positive by the Moon-Venus. It may be pretty good.
Of course, we can help you navigate wherever this chart sets up, but if you can be in a place reflecting the kind of year you want, you have more control over the year.

Re: MSM natal chart
Many thanks for the insight!
Unfortunately, getting out of the area for my birthday is not a viable option at this point. Any ideas on how I might weather the storm while stuck in here in the desert? Despite what my chart is pointing at, my creativity feels rather impotent at the moment.

Wow. It's like another language. I better get to learning how to decipher all of this.
Re: MSM natal chart
I forgot that both of those time frames of the "turbulent periods" of the past (2007 and 2015) involved me making careless decisions and ending up in legal/financial trouble which contributed to significant physical and emotional stress/dis-ease accordingly. How much of this stuff and the "predictable(?)" events foreshadowed in our horoscopes are actually avoidable or preventable, per se? I mean if it's already "written in the stars" what is one to do? Run from that area of the globe where it affects you more severely? Or are we to hide indoors until the energies pass? As I stated before, I am a complete newbie to sidereal astrology and have trouble knowing what to do with all this technical information. I'm used to simply enjoying the synchronistic novelty of browsing through personality traits that resonate with me that traditional tropical astrology presents.

If there is a pattern of poor decisions, one can take every effort to make better decisions. This requires other traits, such as concentration, integrity, emotional clarity.MSM wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2020 2:11 pm I forgot that both of those time frames of the "turbulent periods" of the past (2007 and 2015) involved me making careless decisions and ending up in legal/financial trouble which contributed to significant physical and emotional stress/dis-ease accordingly. Sometimes. Or just endure it. Or find something else that the same energy is good for....what is one to do? Run from that area of the globe where it affects you more severely? Or are we to hide indoors until the energies pass?
I'm hoping others will jump in. I won't have time or opportunity to give it sufficient attention for several days, so I put the technical information out there to make it easier for others to contribute. As I stated before, I am a complete newbie to sidereal astrology and have trouble knowing what to do with all this technical information.

Exactly! Astrology is a refined higher learning language meant for the individual, imo. One's Natal Horoscope is a tremendous tool for the study of individuality. I have been studying astrology for 38 years and imo Jim Eshelman is great astrologer for synthesizing the Natal Chart into a whole so an individual can better understand how to better harmonize their souls, the Psyche (their Natal Charts). Since you live fairly close to LA and if you ever have the time, I would highly recommend you getting a full detailed Natal Reading from Jim where Jim would be able to better understand how certain aspects in your Natal Chart has been functioning. Speaking from experience, I was fighting many things in my life by not understanding important astrological symbols/aspects in my Natal Chart. When I got to know myself (“know thyself”) with key symbols/aspects in my Natal Horoscope—it started a process which greatly improved/changed my attitudes about certain things, which allowed a tremendous amount of more harmony to enter my life.Wow. It's like another language. I better get to learning how to decipher all of this.

Re: MSM natal chart
You can find a key in Jim's book Sidereal Mundane Astrology (aka SMA) which you can download for free from a link in the publications forum. See especially pages 13, 20-21, and Chapter 3.MSM wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2020 2:05 pm Wow. It's like another language. I better get to learning how to decipher all of this.
You also need to read about ease of expression and angularity.

I graciously thank everyone for their comments and suggestions. I’ll post again once I’ve spent some time with the copious amounts of data and translated/digested it all as much as I’m capable.
