Jupiter-Pluto aspects

Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions, oppositions, and squares occurred on the following dates. These come and go fast enough much of the time that it's hard to track, but I thought I'd do a quick scan of events within about a month of these dates.

As I start this survey, my current standard mundane Jupiter-Pluto interpretation reads: "Events challenge or assault existing value systems, ideologies, and the political and other power systems that support them, leveling what has been built up over time and inviting unprecedented new conditions. Attempts at political destabilization may occur. – A stunning blow to economic conditions (even economic ruin to a region). – Outlandishly freaky weather events." (Principle: Outlier ambition, singular, extraordinary achievement or fall.)

Some observations near the conjunctions.

Some events studied (in the SMA catalog) that occurred near these dates give some insight into the broader picture (I haven't checked these for orbs of the aspect, just for calendar proximity): Jupiter conjoined Pluto in the near-aftermath of the San Francisco earthquake, which had severe financial impact on the whole country (and other big Earth events that year like the destruction of Naples by Vesuvius). It occurred as World War I was wrapping up and our allies were zeroing in on victory (and is an important aspect for the armistice). The late 1968 conjunction was a time of considerable social change, coming near the end of the year that King and Kennedy were murdered among many other things. In 1981, Reagan was shot and Sadat murdered, and Charles and Diana were married in the on-ramp to the aspect. 1994 I only find (on the larger landscape) the transition from the Simpson-Goldman murders to the trial that would dominate the next year.

On a first impression, many of these are "aftermath" timing and seem not just to reflect certain kinds of destabilization but, especially, to show the recovery and healing time. (Now for the main study of these dates:)


Cnj Jun 26 1906 - Pure Food & Drug Act enacted and signed (first of its kind)
Cnj Aug 10 1918 - World War I building to its climax with numerous important battles and increased ally teamwork. Russian Revolution and communist take-over of Russia, including the murder of the Romanov family (and Lenin shot).
Cnj May 26 1931 - A lot of political destabilization e.g. Spain including the Madeira uprising and political assaults on the monarchy and emergence of the Spanish Republic. Leadership changes and restructuring of the American Mafia. Empire State Building construction finished. Pope Pius XI issues "On Reconstruction of the Social Order" (a very Jupiter-Pluto title!).
Cnj Aug 1 1943 - Allied fleet invades Sicily, starting the larger Allied invasion of Axis-controlled Europe; then invasion of Italy a month after. Mussolini arrested after the Grand Council of Fascism withdrew its support.
Cnj Nov 2 1955 - Numerous key movie releases including Rebel Without a Cause & Oklahoma. Diem proclaims Vietnam a republic, essentially starting the Vietnam War November 1.
Cnj Feb 7 1956 - Elvis charts for the first time. Kruschev openly attacks the veneration of Stalin (interesting distinction! - it is the cult of Stalin he attacked om his "On the Cult of Personality & Its Consequences").
Cnj Jun 16 1956 - United Methodist Church grants women full ordination status and to end racial segregation in the church. Montgomery bus boycott. Arthur Miller appears before HUAC.
Cnj Oct 13 1968 - A time of protests internationally, including The Troubles (North Ireland ethno-nationalist violent conflicts). Pentagon announces involuntary second tours for troops in Vietnam. LBJ announces cessation of all NV bombardment (ahead of the election). Nixon wins presidency. Yale admits women.
Cnj Nov 2 1981 - Church of England votes to admit women to holy orders. Luke & Laura marry on General Hospital. Reagan secretly authorizes CIA recruitment in Nicaragua.
Cnj Dec 2 1994 - Republicans take over House in mid-terms, broadly seen as a repudiation of Clinton's first two years. Exchange rate correction on peso causes massive financial meltdown in Mexico.
Cnj Dec 11 2007 - (Essentially nothing. A lot of maneuvering around the EU with an amended treaty and changes in relations.) Subprime mortgage crisis is underway (early stages) but public generally doesn't know it yet.

Some observations near the oppositions.

The 1950 opposition is near when the Korean War began. 1962-63 was at the height of the Cold War and booming space race. 1975 was almost exactly the end of the Vietnam War (with the fall of Saigon) and the fresh post-Watergate period. 1988 was in the aftermath of the October '87 market crash. In 2000 it concentrated around the election and the Bush v. Gore case; the next one was during the development of the 9/11 attacks (but also the Bush massive tax cuts). 2013-14 was a peak in Islamist terrorist attacks plus much legal reshuffling on social matters.

Opp Feb 9 1925 - Mussolini's rise begins. Diphtheria antitoxin reaches Nome by dog sled to combat an epidemic.
Opp Aug 11 1925 - Scopes trial (teacher accused of teaching evolution, contrary to state law). Hitler publishes first part of Mein Kampf. Large KKK march in Washington.

Opp Apr 22 & May 29 1937 - (Spanish Civil War is ongoing.) Coronation of King George VI (following his brother's abdication in 12/26). Neville Chamberlain becomes PM.
Opp Dec 18 1937 - (Sino-Japanese war is ongoing.) Italy leaves League of Nations. Hitler rise continues. Ireland's constitution comes into force, confirming it an autonomous free state. New Estonia constitution comes into force.
Opp Feb 13 1950 - Alger Hiss convicted of perjury. Knesset declares Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Lots of spy-related Cold War stuff. India constitution promulgated. Truman orders development of hydrogen bomb. WV coal minor strike. Credit cards begin (first use of Diners Club). USSR-China mutual defense treaty.
Opp May 4 1962 - Adolf Eichmann hanged in Israel.
Opp Aug 18 1962 - A time of many independence steps in Africa (and elsewhere) with new nation formation. Marilyn Monroe's death.
Opp Jan 15 1963 - "Big freeze" winter in U.K. (no frost-free nights for three months), with severe winter weather across western Europe. Cuba embargo begins.
Opp Apr 18 1975 - Microsoft founded. Vietnam War ends (withdrawal of U.S. troops, fall of Saigon).
Opp Apr 27 1988 - U.S. strikes Iranian oil platforms and naval vessels (Operation: Praying Mantis) as a retaliation.
Opp Sep 4 & Oct 13 2000 - 2000 presidential election. Mac OS X beta released. Western Europe floods (from heavy rains). USS Cole bombing (10/12).

Opp Aug 7 2013 - Egyptian President Morsi deposed in a military coup; violence erupts, thousands of anti-coup advocates killed. Ghouta chemical attack in Syria.

Opp Apr 20 2014 - Crimean crisis (various actions). Boko Haran attacks increase. WHO labels new polio spread a worldwide health emergency. Thai coup.

This is exactly what I see the Virus doing to the value (money)systems with so far 5.2 Trillion total packages being voted through on a bi-partisan basis. So different in 10 years: Obama felt he had to keep TARP under a trillion dollars and so settled somewhere around $700 to $800 million. Economists at the time were estimating that the economy lost $3 trillion that the government should have dropped into it, but there was no political path to it.

Its unreal (Pluto) Jim. For the first time in my life I can't think my way through to the end game. As you pointed out, the financial crises of 2008 was just a drop in the bucket compared to the $ numbers happening in DC now. The health officials are telling the economic minded political heads: Don't you dare open the economy back-up. If t. Pluto partile conjunct 2020 Capsolar Sun manifested the timing for this Virus/Economic crises--what is the 2021 Capsolar telling us with Cap Sun partile conjunct Pluto?

Something I've learned from this quick historic survey is that Jupiter-Pluto has often meant recovery, healing, or correction, often by heroic measures, of something "wrong" (often meaning that it is unjust, dangerous, undermined, or broken). It means turning a corner, or reversing the tide.

As a specific example of this, there are several explicit instances of it meaning healing disease, and specifically addressing an epidemic! There was a diphtheria epidemic where antitoxins were delivered to Alaska by dog sled, the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, the recent new polio spread that was contained. It's a specific category of a broader principle - let's say, "reversing conditions to make right something that is wrong" - but quite interesting that it has explicitly shown for this.

Yes, makes good symbolic sense in the context of the curve flattening out and going down; but, I hope they find a miracle (Pluto) benefic (Jupiter) cure or killing drug against the Virus, but I guess it would need to be found soon before Jupiter separates from partile cnj Pluto. My best guess is more $ for Main Street for the next two exact conjunctions of Jup-Pl June 30 & Nov 12. They have got to find quick tests for all Americans and a medicine to kill Virus if infected---otherwise the sheer psychological damage already inflicted will keep people from gathering in large economic numbers putting at least a bad recessionary drag on economy. If nothing can be done until a vaccine---then I think the economy will continue to spiral into another Depression---but maybe not as hurtful as the Great Depression because the Country now has a quick acting Federal Reserve as somewhat an economic backstop for Main Street.

Bradley taught us Pluto can symbolize miracles which I have seen in sporting events with angular Pluto. So, lets hope this Virus just goes away with a Jupiter-Pluto miracle.

The estimate when this first broke was that (based on the normal course of medicine development, even with accelerated approval) that no vaccine let alone cure would be obtainable until the first half of next year - 12 to 18 months of development.

But in terms of something coming surprisingly quick, here is my already-published interpretation of Trump's SLR that occurs today:

President Trump has one of his most positive Lunar Returns since he has been in office. By the orientation of its angles, he gains a natal Mercury-Jupiter square that doesn't exist in his natal horoscope. This Mercury-Jupiter square is activated by Sun. All three planets fall close to angles.

Specifically, natal Jupiter is 2°22' before Descendant, natal Mercury 2°30' before IC, and transiting Sun 3°30' before Ascendant. This gives three mundane aspects: natal Mercury square Jupiter (0°08'), transiting Sun square natal Mercury (1°00'), and transiting Sun opposite natal Jupiter (1°08'). The Sun-Mercury symbolism doubles up because the midpoint of transiting Sun and transiting Mercury is 0°33' from Ascendant.

These placements and aspects bespeak great success and well-earned bragging rights. Possibly it comes from negotiations. Were he a greater orator, we would expect epic oration. It may center around matters of commerce or trade. Plans, long in motion, likely come to a successful conclusion. The aspects suggest causes for celebration and probable honor, achievement, and recognition.

There is also deception. Transiting Mercury closely opposes natal Neptune. His mind embraces fantasy before fact. He shows he can charm, weave, and enchant.

While the current patterns are so positive, other energies still move in the backdrop, though fruit likely will not drop from their boughs until a later period.

Me too Jim. A-lot of psychological damage has been done to the people's psyche. We are seeing possible future Depression type unemployment #s and this causes people to tighten spending for longer periods of time. Its a complete different economic ball game now with this Virus Center Stage. Even though the death #s are low, if the World ever needed a miracle eradication of this Virus ---it needs it now.

One good thing that has come from this is new laws in China that create a difference between wild animals and livestock, and what can be sold for meat. It also creates a "companion animal" category which covers cats and dogs and doesn't allow them to be sold for meat, and delineates cruelty to animals and makes it illegal.
