Shamrock Hotel Grand Opening [Good]

Post by Jim Eshelman »

On March 17, 1949, in Houston Hotel the Shamrock Hotel opened (it was St. Patrick's Day) with possibly the largest social event in Houston's history, termed "bedlam in diamonds" to one journalist, and with about three thousand people present (where only 2,000 had been expected). You can read about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamrock_Hotel

Wouldn't we expect this grand event to be foremost a Jupiter event? (As I write this, I haven't looked at any charts yet.) I don't know what time this began (and it doesn't matter much for present purposes) but, since it was a dinner event, I'll assume the "bedlam in diamonds" was underway by around 7 PM.

Year: Capsolar {+2}
(What a great start!)
Moon on WP 1°54'
Venus & Jupiter more widely foreground; Uranus & Neptune distantly foreground
-- Uranus-Neptune sq. 0°02' in mundo
-- Venus/Jupiter on Asc 0°41'
-- Jupiter-Neptune sq. 1°41'
-- Venus-Uranus op. 3°28' in mundo
Moon-Sun op. 0°57' in mundo

Bridge (None.)

Month: Caplunar {+3}
(What a fantastic chart!)
Jupiter sq. Asc 0°23' (on IC +1°01')
Moon on IC -1°29'
Neptune widely foreground.
-- Moon-Jupiter 1°40'
-- -- Mo/Ju on IC 0°14'

Week: Liblunar {+2}
(I wondered when Neptune would stake a claim: Here's the "bedlam in diamonds.")
Neptune sq. Asc 1°11' [sq. non-foreground Jupiter 1°09' in mundo]
Sun & Mars more widely foreground.
-- Sun-Mars conj. 0°08'
-- Sun sq. non-foreground Uranus 0°43', Mars sq. Uranus 0°34'
Moon-Jupiter sq. 2°09'

Day: Capsolar Quotidian {+1}
(Fine enough for the bedlam but not the most descriptive; so the event is spectacular except it doesn't end strong.)
p MC sq. t Mars 1°58', op. t Uranus 1°34'
-- t Mars-Uranus sq. 0°24'

Day: Cansolar Quotidian & Transits Dormant.)
