While the news is the pandemic, there isn't much else happening in the world, but here is the (tardy) thread for recording specific May events.

The Supreme Court unanimously threw out the convictions in "BridgeGate" (two aides to Gov Christy shut down the bridge from NJ to NYC to punish NJ mayors who wouldn't pledge support to Christy's re-election. They were convicted under fraud statutes, and the court said, nope, wasn't fraud. Was a bad thing to do, but wasn't fraud.

Interesting twist and actually good law.

I was watching yesterday and today because the Cansolar's Venus-Saturn opposition rotated to CanQ angles. I don't think this qualifies. (One might expect, under current circumstances, some non-speculative announcement concerning significantly higher death tolls etc. Haven't see that so far.)

The lesser ingresses (which often run the day for minor events) don't even show it, unless you count that the Libsolar still has both Pluto and Jupiter transiting square its MC.

Ah, but relocate this to Trenton - the NJ capital - and the CapQ puts ingress Venus on an angle, so somebody is throwing a party there tonight (and Mercury crossed Capsolar Ascendant just to show that there would be a piece of paper of some importance today - and CTTAI involving traffic). The Trenton Liblunar has Uranus 0°12' from Dsc, so they may have been genuinely surprised.)

No clue yet how bad this is going to be. The Hollister fire began about 2 AM 5/10/2020 near Hollister Ranch, in the Gaviota, CA area, which is at 34N29, 120W20. By 4 AM it had burned 200 acres. By 7 AM it was 10% contained. It was still blazing tonight amidst strong winds.

Fire season is off to a start!

In the CAPSOLAR, Mars squares Asc 0°11'. Neptune squares MC 0°27'. I'd targeted the area in the Capsolar forecast for heavy fires. I think this is just a slim start for the year.

CapQ Descendant has a triple conjunction of transiting Pluto on Capsolar Sun-Saturn. The Cansolar, which has Mars conjunct MC, has transiting Uranus 0°27' from Descendant.

An alert from the county 911 at 7 p.m. stated the failure of the Sanford Dam was imminent.
The dam never actually breached. The water from the Edenville dam overtopped it and washed a large hole out of the earthen berm over Wednesday night-Thursday morning, as it was designed to do in case the Sanford lake flooded. The concrete structure of the dam has not apparently been damaged.

The plan is to let all the water drain away, assess the dam, and try to rebuild it, according to the homeowners association that's buying the dam.

Thanks, I thought it was only topped, not breached, but the "continuing coverage" kept kicking the conclusion down the sidewalk. - The main event is Edenville's breach.

Shooting at the air base with the shooter now dead (but a possible second one). FBI said it was a terrorist act. The time 6:15 is "about" the time it started and security forces responded; the base was put on lockdown.

Immediately, as we enter a new Jupiter-Pluto cycle, we're back in the time of terrorist attacks - cultural, religious attacks intended to politically destabilize etc. Jupiter-Pluto is all over these charts! However, to my surprise, today's Venus-Neptune square is not highglighted.

May 23, 2020, about 4 AM Pacific, a fire broke out in a crab processing operation in a warehouse on Pier 45, eventually becoming a four alarm fire with over 150 firefighters on scene. It destroyed at least a quarter of the buildings on the pier before being contained Saturday afternoon and eventually brought under control and extinguished. One firefighter was injured with a severe cut to his hand. There were homeless people in the area, but no injuries have been reported.
The SS Jeremiah O'Brien, a historic World War II ship moored at Pier 45 next to the warehouse that caught fire was saved.

Edited to add:
This fire destroyed more than 5 million dollars worth of fishing gear, including crab, shrimp and fish traps. Crab pots stacked to the ceiling of the warehouse that burned were totally destroyed, wiand the Dungeness crab season will be affected.

I have waited since 1987 after reading the book 'Mundane Astrology' to get my eyes on Andre Barbault's Mundane work translated into English from French published in 2014. This book represents Barbault's final written conclusions on his life's work in Mundane Astrology. The authors of Mundane Astrology declared Barbault's Planetary Cyclic Index as the greatest Mundane World Predictor ever invented by an astrologer. This weekend I read my first book by Barbault only published recently in English in 2016. AFAIC, understanding Barbault's Mundane work combined with Sidereal Mundane Astrology by Fagan/Bradley/Eshelman, offers the Mundane Astrologer an acute professional interpretation for the World of Mundane astrology, including selected Capitals for Nations. On page 111 of Barbault's Mundane Astrology book he writes:

The coming of the triple conjunction of Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto in 2020-2023, with a dissonant Uranus-Neptune semi-square as well, promises to be like a new constellation of general imbalance in society. Exactly what will happen is uncertain but the greater risk is generalized chaos. Certainly terrorism hangs around like an endemic illness but it will be at this juncture of time that it will take on global proportion.

I have been repeatedly stating on this forum, DC's 2021 Capsolar is the most malefic aspected Capsolar I have seen for US entire history. Bradley taught us the Capsolar is the mundane Master Chart of the Year. Barbault offered 3 main possible delineations for Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto combos (2020-2023):

1: Spectre of a third world war.
2: Pandemics
3: Terrorism

I have acutely studied long term economic cycles in the US, and I am a firm believer there is a repeating 90 year depression economic cycle as some kind of natural law for the US economy. 2020-90 years = 1930 =Great Depression. It is an economic fact: So far, this pandemic is wrecking the US economy.
