Update your Solar Fire atlas / time zones

Post by Jim Eshelman »

Scales pointed out yesterday that Solar Fire didn't accurately catch daylight saving time in Beirut.

However, Astrolabe periodically publishes time zone / atlas updates. The Lebanon issue was already correct last October, and there is another update from April 2020. However, you have to go look for these updates and run them. Go to alabe.com or, specifically, here:

The file in concern that gets updated is named "Ettt.res", located in (Your local disk)/Program files (x86)/SolarFire (either 8 or 9; I use SF8). So one may also choose to instead back up that specific file before updating.
