Officer shot at Omaha Mall in critical condition

About 4PM CST March 12 2021, an officer responding to a "help an officer" call during a shoplifting incident at the WestRoads Mall (Dodge St and I-80) was shot. The Mall is shut down, and people in the Mall at the time are slowly being released.
The officer was taken to Nebraska Medicine hospital in critical condition.

Suspect caught at 5:42 PM between Gretna and Lincoln after high-speed chase with every available state trooper, sheriff's deputy and local police officer in pursuit. They used stop sticks and took him into custody.

Injured officer resting in stable condition, and will have operation later this evening.
