for the four weeks beginning JUNE 26, 2021
If you are unfamiliar with the methods and interpretations of Sidereal mundane astrology, please see my free book Sidereal Mundane Astrology. (A link can be found near the top of the Publications sub-forum.) For standard interpretations, see Chapter 8 of the current (17th) Edition.
LONG-TERM (Solar Ingresses)
Capsolar effective Jan 14, 2021 to Jan 14, 2022. (Summarized from my original interpretation in the Jan 13-Feb 9 forecast.)
- More severe than 2020, but a year of action instead of paralysis.
- Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn continues to define conditions, emphasizing autonomous survival and solitary self-sufficiency.
- MARS square SATURN (0°34', exactly angular). Harsh, hateful, hurtful, destructive hardship, e.g., deadly violence, fires, explosions, financial crises. Fosters hate + conflict arising from feeling powerless, shamed, diminished: Primitives competing for basic survival amidst widespread hardship.
- JUPITER square URANUS (0°42'). Recovery and salvation through scientific advances and social revolution. Collective optimism anticipating good change. Broadly, boldly liberal government or political activism: Ideological rebellion, remapping the larger social contract, liberal social agendas (demanding wider horizons, expanded and diversified opportunity, civil liberties). Invention, futurism, new tech (or tech vision), and “good science” engage imagination. (Uncommon for disasters except floods.)
- Activity and activism, rarely gentle or well-behaved.
- Mars-Uranus. Explosive: physical or psychological "bombshells," surprise attack, sudden action, "lightning war" (blitzkrieg). Moon-Uranus. Swiftly changing circumstances requiring rapid adaptation and response. Moon-Mars. A broad sense of emergency: Violence, fire, disaster, damage, assassination (or other severe crisis for leaders).
- Economic difficulties: Economic crisis and threatened markets (Jupiter to Mars-Saturn). Shifting conditions in banking and economic management (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn). The upside: We surely need to consume significant resources for economic recovery.
- Structural investment. Rebuilding economic foundations and physical infrastructure.
- Spinning up the wheels of industry, economic expansion: Greater industry and productivity (from the same aspects).
- Mars-Jupiter is stormy (including destructive weather). Forward momentum, expansive, with an enterprising spirit useful to recovery. Post-pandemic era of opportunity for new entrepreneurs, renewed entrepreneurial spirit, readily available capital investment.
Effective Apr 14 to Oct 18. (Summarized from my interpretation in the Apr 5-May 2 forecast.)
- Jupiter on Dsc (0°38'), sq. Moon (1°37'). The best six months of the year. Increased prosperity overall: Return to work, a stabilizing economy, increased optimism and sense of well-being. Communities feel stronger, more secure. More good news than bad across the six months.
- Saturn on WP (1°17). Survival challenges continue concurrent with emerging good news. Seriously rough times overlap the sense that things are improving. "Getting better" is gradual.
- Saturn-Uranus square. Independence vs. restriction and liberal vs. conservative polarization. Long in restrictive lockdown conditions, people want to get out, to get back to their prior lives despite (or defying) the risks. Freedom vs. safety, the "old way" and "new way." Political opposition and gridlock threaten when we can least afford them.
MEDIUM-TERM (The Bridge)
Until July 15: Neptune Uranus Saturn. Saturn and Uranus (in square) transit Capsolar angles. Neptune squares progressed Cansolar Moon. In an uncertain time, when doubt and insecurity have overflowed the banks for weeks, something new has broken through to shake things up, dislodging stuck circumstances. Tensions between safety vs. liberty return. Political polarization (gridlock) hovers. It would be foolish to rely on any result landing exactly as one hopes: Success, if obtainable, is best measured in all parties being equally unhappy with the deal.
Beginning July 17: Pluto Uranus Saturn Sun. Although the new Cansolar is dormant for Washington, it has a partile Moon-Sun-Pluto T-square that creates transiting Pluto square Cansolar Moon plus CanQ Moon square ingress Pluto and Sun beginning July 17, atop the Saturn-Uranus transits to Capsolar angles. This dramatic configuration shows upheaval, confrontation of the people with their government, assault on those in power and ruling institutions, and defiant lawlessness as part of the overlapping Saturn-Uranus trends. (Possibly they signal mass existential confrontation, e.g., inevitability of overwhelming death; choosing optimism, I will suggest that we are past this threshold before now.) These luminary aspects aren't limited to the U.S., though: Moon-Sun-Pluto effects will have impact worldwide. The cultural impact and volatility will be reminiscent of 1968. New York City is especially in line for a high-impact crisis that turns stable conditions inside out.
Within these zones, three periods involving Mars transits signal heightened threat:
Jun 28-Jul 4: Neptune Uranus Saturn Mars. Mars crosses Capsolar Ascendant opposite Saturn and Descendant and square Uranus. These days will be explosive with fires, violence, struggle, and general alarm, all within the broader description of Neptune, Saturn, and Uranus above. At its best, Mars may strike such a sense of urgency or emergency that it begins to dislodge stuck conditions.
Jul 8-11: Neptune Uranus Saturn Mars. Mars opposes Capsolar Moon. This resembles June 28 to July 4 except that Mars conditions aren't limited to the U.S. Worldwide, Neptune and Mars operate together which, from the late 2020 perspective from which I'm writing, stirs fears of increased sickness and its emotional consequences. By this point, though, vaccines are presently expected to be in wide circulation. Regardless of the details, then, let us say Mars opposite Cansolar Moon creates a heightened state of emergency with increased violence, blood, fire, inflammation, bombs, accidents, and other destruction. War is historically common under this aspect but seems unlikely in a world collectively battling a pandemic. Threat of death or similar crisis of world leaders increases.
Jul 18-22: Pluto Uranus Saturn Mars Sun. Saturn and Uranus transit Capsolar angles. Progressed Cansolar Moon aspects Sun-Pluto worldwide. Mars transits opposite CapQ Moon worldwide. This is substantially the same as July 8-11 except with the new, intensifying Moon-Sun-Pluto elements. Threats of assassination increase and, if not war, then the spirit of war.
SHORT-TERM (Lunar Ingresses)
Caplunar (Jun 26)
Effective June 26 to July 23, especially the first week, June 26 to July 2. Moon conjunct Pluto (0°05') occurs with both planets within 1° of square Ascendant. Like late May, these weeks mark a turning point in current issues and larger matters that have been in transition for years: It likely will more strongly ignite the chief themes of Pluto in Capricorn.
Moon-Pluto aspects signal events that stun our sensibilities and halt the mind with their intensity, marking unprecedented conditions and irrevocable, socially impactful shifts. Though this aspect and this result have been evident week by week for the last two years, this new month brings that radical intensity with even greater fervor, changing the course history now will flow like a large rock dropped into a stream.
Overall, this is a terrible month with every week marked by signs of volatility and violence. As in May, I expect strong uprising of mass-mind erupting into collective defiance (and, likely, effort by government to suppress the defiance). Mars and Saturn are angular across the Northwest and northernmost California, and also in New England, so some of the harshest manifestations are expected near one or the other Portland. Surprising, breakthrough technology news likely will flow from Silicon Valley or Redmond.
Arilunar (Jul 2)
Effective July 2-17. Affairs foretold in the Capsolar come to a head during these two weeks because the same two planet pairs are in play: Mars, 0°15' from Descendant, opposes Saturn 1° from Ascendant, while Jupiter squares MC and Uranus squares Ascendant.
These combine explosively (and I don't just mean the 4th of July): Mars squares Uranus (0°34') much like the Capsolar, and forms a Mars-Saturn-Uranus T-square like current transits to the Capsolar. Also foreground, Venus opposes Saturn and conjoins Mars suggesting major fires on the one hand and loss of life (probably to violence) on the other. Mars-Saturn is harsh, hateful, hurtful, and destructive.
Canlunar (Jul 10)
The Canlunar is dormant. - California, especially within 50 miles of the coast, gets the worst of things this month (which sounds quite bad for the vineyards).
Liblunar (Jul 17)
Effective July 17-30. The Cansolar, half an hour earlier, has Moon square Sun-Pluto - all partile, but only widely foreground. In this Liblunar, the same three planets fall within 2° of angles in Washington. All aspects are within about half a degree: Sun square Moon is 0°01'. Moon-Sun aspects and angular Pluto show radical "phase shifts" that alter existing conditions. Moon-Sun especially shines a spotlight on government in general and the Chief Executive in particular. Adding a close mundane Moon-Saturn square and the July 18-22 Bridge, President Biden's safety and well-being are at risk. Moon-Sun aspects this powerful have also historically ignited major, impactful shifts in rhythmic or phase-like phenomena, like the stock market.
With ingress Mars (square Saturn) exactly angular in the Capsolar Quotidian for Washington July 17, the Secret Service is advised to be at their best. Also, the longitude shared by San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle is under fire for these two weeks (perhaps literally), with Seattle getting the worst of it.
