Is the worst yet to come? (Happy birthday, America!)
For months, we've all been looking forward to 2021 being so much kinder than 2020. Looking at the United States' new Sidereal Solar Return, I have to ask - is the worst yet to come?
The chart I've found to respond best to events in U.S. history is Llewellyn George's final rectification of the "shortly past noon" Hazelrigg-George chart: July 4, 1776, 12:14:42 PM LM, Independence Hall, 39N56'56", 75W09'00". In the next post (below), I give two consecutive Sidereal Solar Returns for this, first for July 8, 2020, and then for July 8, 2021. (Three and a half degrees of precession accumulated since 1776 has pushed the Solar Return date three or four days later than July 4.) - I'll delete them later, but this will give you the chance to easily see them for now.
The 2020 chart is so clear for last year. Calculated for July 8, 2020, 1:49:52 AM EDT in Washington, its relevant features are (1) the partile Jupiter-Pluto conjunction at MC in mundane square to Uranus less than a degree from Ascendant. For those interested, Eris is also only 0°45' below Ascendant, as Uranus is 0°56' above it. (2) Saturn, also near MC, in close conjunction with natal Pluto and opposite natal Mercury.
Even in its broad strokes, this describes the biggest events of the last twelve months: (1) An unprecedented kind of year in U.S. history - no comparison to any prior year - almost amounting to a new revolution. (2) The overthrow of the regime in power. (3) Hardship and loss feeling apocalyptic and bringing much of the nation's commercial activities to a standstill.
Key events happened as Saturn hovered at its station minutes from this MC throughout October, Jupiter moved forward to transit MC in November, then Pluto entered Capricorn and crossed MC in January. Uranus only in recent weeks has transited across the SSR Ascendant, just in time to concentrate the Saturn-Uranus (and now Mars-Saturn-Uranus) energies there - but these were also transiting the Washington Capsolar angles.
But we have a new national birthday today, and a new astrological collective birthday with the week. What does this new year bring?
Regrettably... if not objectively worse, it seems it will at least feel emotionally worse. The second chart below (calculated for July 8, 2021, 8:00:45 AM EDT, Washington, DC) shows a Venus-Saturn opposition across the horizon (Saturn 0°15' below Descendant, Venus 1°04' below Ascendant). This one aspect will most describe the new year. Venus and Saturn square Uranus and are joined by Mars.
Foremost, this describes a year of mourning. It seems that will be the chief characteristic of the next 12 months for the U.S.
Other angularities support the same picture: Natal Pluto is about 1° from square MC (on the Westpoint in longitude) while transiting Pluto is about the same distance from the Westpoint in RA. (Two angular Pluto's, not yet all that close to conjunction, but both on angles in the same chart.)
Of course, that Venus-Saturn opposition can (and surely will) mean many different things; but they will share the characteristic of powerful love coexisting with severe loss, as in grief for the loss of loved ones, spoiled fun, a sense that "the party is over," and even roused hate, remorse, and loss of alliance. It's also an aspect of severe fires.
The one thing that excites me in a positive way about the chart (though I'm probably being too optimistic about this) is that natal Mercury is exactly on EP and, besides its permanent opposition to natal Pluto, is opposed more closely by transiting Pluto. From this might we expect a true paradigm shift? That's what we need, and that's what this planet-pair at its best brings. Besides that, expect "collision" (whether of information, communication, or vehicles) to be keyword of this year's events. The threat of invasive cyber-hacking of primary national systems grows. The nation's energy matrix is at risk.
A paradigm shift would be good, though.

Venus and Saturn :: Loss of children, who can't be vaccinated right now. And are often the focus of 4th of July parties. People attending parties today will be at the end of the incubation period in 2 - 3 weeks and we'll start seeing the death tolls rise again, but this time, it will be 20-somethings and children. We need to make a meme of the Pied Piper of Hamlin with the head replaced by the Covid Virus with Trump's face.Jim Eshelman wrote: Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:26 am Regrettably... if not objectively worse, it seems it will at least feel emotionally worse. With Saturn transiting across Capsolar Descendant right now... yes, I think we're about to go into a month of rising numbers.
So... un... necessary...

I thought I'd test this timing: Your projections come (roughly) July 18-25. This month's national predictions already say:Jupiter Sets at Dawn wrote: Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:57 am People attending parties today will be at the end of the incubation period in 2 - 3 weeks and we'll start seeing the death tolls rise again, but this time, it will be 20-somethings and children.
I think this is pretty consistent (sometimes exactly so!) with what you're suggesting. Adding the lunar ingresses, the map is a math, though my interpretation of it emphasizes a different direction:Jim Eshelman wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 12:47 pm Beginning July 17: Pluto Uranus Saturn Sun. Although the new Cansolar is dormant for Washington, it has a partile Moon-Sun-Pluto T-square that creates transiting Pluto square Cansolar Moon plus CanQ Moon square ingress Pluto and Sun beginning July 17, atop the Saturn-Uranus transits to Capsolar angles. This dramatic configuration shows upheaval, confrontation of the people with their government, assault on those in power and ruling institutions, and defiant lawlessness as part of the overlapping Saturn-Uranus trends. (Possibly they signal mass existential confrontation, e.g., inevitability of overwhelming death; choosing optimism, I will suggest that we are past this threshold before now.) These luminary aspects aren't limited to the U.S., though: Moon-Sun-Pluto effects will have impact worldwide. The cultural impact and volatility will be reminiscent of 1968. New York City is especially in line for a high-impact crisis that turns stable conditions inside out.
Within these zones, three periods involving Mars transits signal heightened threat:
Jul 8-11: Neptune Uranus Saturn Mars. ...Worldwide, Neptune and Mars operate together which, from the late 2020 perspective from which I'm writing, stirs fears of increased sickness and its emotional consequences. By this point, though, vaccines are presently expected to be in wide circulation. Regardless of the details, then, let us say Mars opposite Cansolar Moon creates a heightened state of emergency with increased violence, blood, fire, inflammation, bombs, accidents, and other destruction... Threat of death or similar crisis of world leaders increases.
Jul 18-22: Pluto Uranus Saturn Mars Sun. ...This is substantially the same as July 8-11 except with the new, intensifying Moon-Sun-Pluto elements. Threats of assassination increase and, if not war, then the spirit of war.
Caplunar (Jun 26)
Effective June 26 to July 23... Overall, this is a terrible month with every week marked by signs of volatility and violence...
Liblunar (Jul 17)
Effective July 17-30... Moon-Sun aspects and angular Pluto show radical "phase shifts" that alter existing conditions. Moon-Sun especially shines a spotlight on government in general and the Chief Executive in particular... President Biden's safety and well-being are at risk... With ingress Mars (square Saturn) exactly angular in the Capsolar Quotidian for Washington July 17, the Secret Service is advised to be at their best...

Re: Is the worst yet to come? (Happy birthday, America!)
Covid numbers are going up. Doubling in some of the less vaccinated states. Children on ventilators. It's starting to be a news story but not the top of the newscasts. Tennessee has stopped all outreach trying to get children vaccinated.
Next week it should be the top story again. Along with the fires in the west, floods in the east and the hurricane force straight line winds on the plains states. Saturday AM saw almost 200,000 people in the Omaha metro area waking up without power. Still 30,000 without this morning. Crews from outside the area are working on getting the lines powered again, but they did all the easy stuff already, and now it's about getting huge old trees off the lines and the lines put back on houses.
The storm hit here (and my power went out) about 12:15 AM July 10, 2021 CDT. My power came back on about 7:30 AM.

I've been thinking a lot this last week about how right you were that children would be the next horror story.

Tennessee has halted all outreach to minors about vaccines. Not just the Covid vaccine. All vaccines. And apparently all health screenings.
Is it possible, you think, to arrest tv commentators and doctors who haven't seen a patient in years for practicing medicine without a license or malpractice or something like?
Because I think we really need to go there. That and describing the disabilities people who survive Covid often have.

Does the place you work your day job have anybody who might be interested in politics and protecting people, especially children, from medical malpractice?
Maybe somebody knows somebody?
I don't actually need an answer to that question.

We do firmwide an enormous amount of that pro bono
It's complicated... The right factors have to come together and some specific person has to be personally passionate enough to run with it. Often what will happen is that an organization like the ACLU or SLLC will take a matter at the front end then request we support them and bring top litigators to the trial level.
So I think the best starting point is to get a good non-profit group like ACLU interested. If the matter has legs, they Will get the best people involved at the right stage.

I don't know how to do that.
I don't care about the adults. Hey don't want to get vaccinated? Outta the gene pool and thanks. But kids are more vulnerable.
And then there's Tennessee...
