Battle of the Alamo

This famous battle of the Texas Revolution was fought February 23 to March 6, 1836, ending with much death and the overwhelming of American fighters by the Mexican forces that then reclaimed the mission. Between 1,800 and 6,000 Mexican Republic troops faced off against about 200-250 American troops. Almost 100% of the Texan-Americans were killed along with a few hundred Mexican troops. (Texians and Tejanos regrouped and finally defeated the Mexican Army a month and a half later.)

I choose a priori the end of the battle - the final fall of Texan resistance and slaughter of essentially everyone present - as the critical astrological event. The final day's Mexican attack began "in the early morning hours," which I take to be soon after sunrise (I just learned it was 5:30 AM, just as Mars rose conjunct Uranus: sunrise wasn't until 6:20, so they advanced in the dark). Fighting went on for some time, it taking a third wave to overwhelm the Texians. The battle was over by 6:30 PM, with Moon having nearly reached exact conjunction with Saturn and just as the Sun set. I think 5:30 AM is as good a time as any for our purposes for studying the event.

The Capsolar sets it up well enough (though with a puzzling Moon aspect). The Week chart is stunning for a place and time of such horror and death. The quotidians were stronger for a day or two earlier (e.g., Mars on CanQ MC) but were fine enough for the day it all ended.
