SSR 2021

Post by FlorencedeZ. »

I will write about my 2020 SSR in detail as soon as the Solar year is over. Another three weeks to go. :D
Thanks Jim for the great guidance, it was a bit of a drive to Valfleury and one of the most enjoyable holidays. I now save for my holidays around birthdays. :)

My 2021 SSR does have natal Jupiter foreground and to make it exact at 0'00' degrees I plan to go to a little village near Amsterdam called Zwanenburg. It's slightly more beneficial then staying in The Hague.
I tried looking where to go elsewhere and the West Coast near San Francisco would be great with t. Venus and t. Jupiter angular.

Travelling to the U.S. is impossible right now as far as I know, even when fully vaccinated. It's not an option.
If I stay in Europe, t.Neptune gets in the way and would like to avoid that.
I have t. Moon-Neptune partile anyway, that's enough. :(
Maybe I overlooked a destination for the holidays that would be good too, Jim and others would you have an idea?
Thanks in advance,
Flo

Looking at the SSR itself, Jupiter is quite far from the angles but the first thing to catch my eye is Moon opposite Venus. This does bring in transiting Neptune by square. While I'm tempted to play up the Venus, I'm not sure placing a partile Moon-Neptune square right on angles would be my best advice. It could be totally benign - happily dreamy - but it could also make some trouble (by confusion if nothing else).

Nonetheless, if you want to follow that lead, I would suggest Lisbon. You do get the Neptune also. I think this also puts natal Pluto on EP (if it interests you, I'll check this), but I know it puts Venus 0°41' before IC, Neptune 1°08' before Dsc, and Moon 8°31' before MC.

I'll calculate mundanely how close natal Jupiter is to IC for your intended location. - Oh, wait, your Jupiter only has 0N01 of latitude, so its ecliptical position angularity is the same as its mundane one. You're exactly on the right longitude.

Isn't this a fun way to approach, "What fun thing do I want to do for my birthday?"

Thank you Jim, lots.
Yes, it's absolutely fun, love it.
Honestly, if it were not for SSR's, I would have never travelled to certain places.
And I am really thankful for new places, even when they are very nearby, it's eye opening.
Friends also love it and find it exciting.
I am not sure if I'd pick Lisbon with t.Neptune angular as well as it is close to the angle. I feel it spoils the party so to speak, I'd rather avoid.
Do you think the exact natal Jupiter in Zwanenburg is my best option indeed?

Yes, if you're ruling out the love-drunk, bubblegum pink clown show and inebriated blind date of Venus-Neptune <g> then I think natal Jupiter on IC is your best within the region (or, of course, anyplace due north-south and nearby).

I think I saw transiting Jupiter cutting through some remarkable parts of western Africa, but I'm not sure I'd think that to be disease safe right now.

Looks like a magical experience :D fun, but so exhausting, crazy haha
I would prefer Venus only so will have to skip Lisbon and go for that natal Jupiter line, I guess playing it safe.
Do you still adhere to being there about 18 hours in advance and after or are less hours equally good?

I suspect that the only thing that matters is the exact minute. On some years of less importance, Marion and I have driven to a place up the coast for her SSR, pulled over at the exact spot for a few minutes, then driven on.

But, when I have the chance, I give it 30 hours after, since that's the time it takes the whole PSSR year to unfurl. It's likely excessive. It's an attractive theory but I doubt it matters.

It looks (from pictures I can find) that Zwanenburg is mostly the view of the Ringvaart and some lovely traditional houses. Ah, I just found an interesting looking gallery. Are there things that interest you to do there?

Not really. It's mostly runways near the airport.
I have a friend there and she could do with some help in the garden.
I might go to Zaanse Schans or Broek in Waterland afterwards.
If you and Marion ever come to the Netherlands we would be very happy to show you around these places, perhaps you can combine it with Keukenhof during Springtime.
