Athens Fires

Post by Jim Eshelman »

The fires that broke out Saturday (8/22/2009) near Athens, Greece are worth a look.

The current Capsolar for Athens has IC 18 Sag 36 and Mars 19 Sag 11 - within a degree of the angle.

This was much better than the New Moon a few days before the fire - which, for Athens, had Jupiter exactly angular (but, admittedly, Mars on the Antivertex. Still...)

The Canlunar 4 days earlier has Mars broadly foreground for Athens, but not convincingly close to the angles for my tastes. It was, however, partile square Uranus. Perhaps more relevant is that Saturn was close to the Ascendant.

Besides the partile angular Mars of the Capsolar, added pressure was applied (but more on a global basis) by the partile Mars-Uranus conjunction partile square the Moon of the April 14 Arisolar - but this wasn't angular in Athens. (It nonetheless affected all locations on the globe.) Progress it to the start of the fire, and transiting Neptune is exactly conjunct the Quotidian Ascendant (hysteria).

Finally, the current Cansolar placed Saturn on the Ascendant for Athens.

There was at least a pile-up of unfortunate angularities, with the key one of the year being the exactly angular Mars (on the IC!) in the "master chart" Capsolar.
