Maine's deadliest natural disaster ever was the North American Ice Storm of 1998.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_1 ... _ice_storm
Ice storms (freezing rain for 80 consecutive hours) raged through large areas of Canada and U.S. were affected, with the worst effects being in Canada. However, it remains Maine's is given as Maine's worst natural disaster. 35 people died, 945 were injured, 4 million people lost power (700,000 in Maine), ice was as thick as 5 inches in places (1.5" in Maine), and $5-7B in damages occurred.
January 4-10, 1998. It sounds like Maine began to be hit January 5. I'll use noon on that day, and Augusta (the capital) for a location. Aa this wasn't the central location, but was marking a worst for the state, I'm curious how strong and precise the indicators will be.
