Florence: forthcoming SSR (2014)

Post by FlorencedeZ. »

In about three weeks my new SSR will come up and it doesn't look too good. In fact it looks bad and I'm not particularly looking forward to this year, especially after my current Venus year. I really wish this one would last. Although my dad passed away which was a sad time for all of us, my surroundings were extremely supportive and harmonious.
So perhaps I should cave myself in for the year to come or am I being too sensitive?
Saturn makes a partile in Mundo aspect conjunct the Ascendant. And the Moon is conjunct Saturn. I am not sure what to make of an almost partile Jupiter square to the Ascendant and a partile square to the Moon. The Lunar Returns don't look too good either and I suppose this is what one can expect with a transiting partile Saturn in the SSR. I would appreciate any feedback on my SSR for learning if possible. Many thanks in advance.

This affords all of us a good learning opportunity for discussions with both foresight delineations and hindsight with the events produced. When I get the time, I will post my thoughts about this dynamic SSR as to its psychological effects it is foretelling using main Sidereal Astrology guidelines for Interpreting Solar Returns. Also, I can quickly see with SSR Moon placement-- there is high probability when sp SSR Moon matures into a partile cnj with SSR Saturn—some type of Saturn event should manifest with its Saturn psychological effects.

SteveS wrote:Definitely a main planetary theme at some point within your solar year is mundo Saturn partile cnj SSR Asc, with SSR Moon cnj Saturn. However, Jupiter is partile 90 SSR Asc so it appears this could help mitigate the harsh Saturn influences, but I don’t know for sure, this prominent Jupiter aspect could very well have something to do with manifestations completely different than the main Saturn theme. Very rarely do we get return charts which feature a planet partile cnj a return angle in mundo. But when we do, we should all pay very close attention to its intrinsic symbolic meaning—the universe is speaking to us in a very loud voice and we astrologers are in a unique situation where we can prepare our conscious being or our clients being with illuminated insight.

One of astrology’s basic doctrines, handed down through the centuries, is that the angles of the horoscope –the horizon and meridian—represent the most powerful, active, dynamic areas of a map.

So, we shall start with mundo Saturn partile cnj your SSR Asc. Then with Jim’s ISR teachings we should note where he says:
…This then isolates the Moon as the most crucial agent in a Solar Return after the angles. Lunar aspects to natal and solar planets can never be treated lightly, even when rather wide in orb. So remarkable is this single factor, if lunar aspects are nearly exact while the foreground planets (angular) are not exceptionally close to the angles, the solar Moon can be considered the primary theme-setter of the chart for the year ahead, bar none.
So, we see here a unique case where not only do we have mundo Saturn partile your SSR Asc, we have the SSR Moon cnj your SSR Moon with its secondary progressed movement maturing to a partile cnj with SSR Saturn in early 2015. This Moon-Saturn aspect in your SSR is ‘by far’ the most dominating feature of your 2014 SSR. When during your solar year will this potent Moon-Saturn manifest itself?

SteveS wrote:Cyril Fagan writes from his book, ‘Primer of Sidereal Astrology:’
The Arabic system of progression, day-to-year or secondary, has proved its worth. It has recently been discovered that planets in a solar return or ingress (known as Solar Planets) can be progressed by the secondary rate with very accurate results (* involving partile hits with the conjunction and opposition.) It will be rare that solar planets, other than solar Moon with an average motion of some 13 degrees a year, will close to an exact aspect during the solar year.

So we see here Florence, your 2014 SSR is a “rare” situation involving Solar Moon. Its secondary progression of 13 degrees during your solar year will calculate an exact conjunction of secondary progressed Solar Moon to solar Saturn Feb 21-22 2015. Continuing with Fagan teachings:
Experience has shown that the secondary progression of Solar Moon to the (partile) conjunction or opposition of any planet during the solar year gives a very accurate timing for an event of the nature of a planet.

So Florence, Fagan is telling us when your secondary progressed SSR solar Moon matures to a partile cnj with your SSR Saturn (app Jan 21 2015) a Saturn event is likely to manifest within this partile time frame to whatever is going on in your immediate environment. I would expect as sp SSR Moon gets closer and closer to your SSR Saturn you readily be able to indentify the "stage" of this event. Are there any other Sidereal Astrology teachings which can clue us in to WHEN and maybe WHAT this Moon-Saturn theme will manifest during your solar year. Yes, there definitely are most excellent Sidereal Astrology teaching from Donald Bradley. to be continued.

Thank you very much Steve for your comments. I always appreciate your insights. I find it very stimulating.
Yes, I can see that it is defenitely a Saturn/Moon theme during the SSR year. This morning I have been reading in Jim's book again: Interpreting Solar Returns.
When I'm stuck, Jim's book gives me guidance.
This made me think that perhaps the Saturn/Jupiter square 3'29 when it comes to the angles could be the theme setter as well? As both Saturn and Jupiter are aspected by the moon?

t. JUPITER & t. SATURN (copy from web-site)
"...it presages a long-term period of sobriety, settledness and stability. Contracts are drawn up and signed, property is purchased and frequently mortgaged and the native settles down to a humdrum if beneficial daily routine. Under the dual transit of these two bodies youths are induced to abandon their wanton lives. Having squandered their inheritance, they settle down to a job where they are paid by stipend and promoted by seniority. Mutual configurations of Jupiter and Saturn denote inheritance, trustee property and the like where the interest only is expendable."

In a way this would make sense. My mother might sell the house as her health is deteriorating and she is not so well since my dad passed away in March this year. (she is a Taurus with Capricorn Moon and is going through a strong liebestot bias, or tragic love syndrome since they were together since they were 12 years of age)
I need to have a look when the progressed Moon joins Saturn. Saturn is transiting Venus starting 27 January and leaves first of May and will return briefly later in the year. To me, it seems there is defenitely something going on as well, like you say.
I always pay close attention to the SSR since they have all been so accurate, especially this year.
Regards,
Florence

It is a gold mine of detailed Sidereal Astrology principles not only for the SSR but other charts as well. When I first discovered Jim's book, I had to read it a dozen times taking many notes for correct understanding. For several years I knew of no Sidereal Astrologer to ask questions.

I understand Florence, so sad. If there are not any other possible Moon-Saturn conditions in your immediate environment, I would suspect this Moon-Saturn SSR could indeed have good probability of manifesting with the "deterioating health" of your Mother, but understand this is speculation. From a timing and symbolic insight I think a couple of your future SLR's are most revealing which I will address in the next post.

SteveS wrote:Donald Bradley writes from his book Solar & Lunar Returns:
Lunar returns (SLR), while more powerful in immediate effect, are (somewhat) subservient to the preceding solar return. Therefore, we must look to the lunar return for proof that lunar returns usually “time” the major occurrences foreshadowed in the solar return chart.

I have discovered Bradley’s above words very useful in my practice, so let us take a-look at your future lunar returns to see if we see any striking SLR’s. Whenever I see a dynamic SSR such as your 2014 SSR, after analyzing foreground angular contacts, I then analyze the Solar Moon and its contacts with natal and solar planets as Jim teaches, then any possible partile secondary progressed SSR Moon contacts within the solar year. Then, I want to take Bradley’s above words and quickly scan all the SLR’s (including demi lunars if no first harmonic SLR is found), first looking for partile planetary mundo conjunctions with lunar angles. If isolated, I then want to bi-wheel these lunars with the natal chart (this is Fagan’s & Jim’s teachings) to see if any major natal configurations or natal planets themselves fall close to the lunar angles. We must remember return charts are transit-based charts (as Jim teaches) and when we find an angular lunar planet partile aspected a natal planet, then we have found a solid timing frame for considering WHEN the SSR symbolism will manifest. When we find a SLR like this we want to pay very close attention to ALL partile/close aspects in the SLR. It only takes 5 minutes of time to quickly see if a SLR fits the above criteria with Solarfire. Here again, it should be noted before a serious student of Sidereal Astrologer can begin to see the par-excellent symbolism with teachings guidelines of Sidereal Astrology, one has to become technically proficient with calculating the correct charts, preferably with an astrological computer program for quickly calculating all of the SLR’s within a solar year.

SteveS wrote:Florence, before I get into a couple of your SLR’s, we need to take note of the placement of your Natal Mercury in your 2014 SSR. Natal Mercury 29,14 Lib is almost partile cnj SSR Saturn 28,10 Lib—so this means t. Saturn cnj your Natal Mercury will be in the fore for your solar year. As Jim writes from his book:
Solar Returns are transit-based techniques. They consist of transiting planets at a given moment in time, near or on one’s birthday, locked into collusion with natal planets for a year to follow.

So we see here a ‘special’ Saturn transit ‘locked into collusion’ with your Natal Mercury for your solar year. Mercury situations can ‘bear upon a multiple of subjects’ and you and your immediate environment will see this Natal Mercury situation for what it truly is, but Jim's teaches you will 'react' to the influences of your 2014 SSR in more Mercury mannner. Natal Mercury is un-aspected so you only have to consider straight-out Mercury symbolism. Now to the SLR which I think is very important to consider.

SteveS wrote:On Dec 21 you have a SLR with mundo Venus partile cnj SLR Dsc, with a partile eclipto cnj of SLR Venus-Pluto. Also very important to note with bi-wheel—your partile Natal Mars-Saturn 180 falls tightly on your Dec 21 SLR Asc-Dsc axis. I strongly suspect you will start to see/understand what your 2014 SSR is foretelling with its prominent Moon-Saturn symbolism with this SLR.

And then your Feb 14th SLR features mundo Pluto 1,29 cnj your SLR Dsc. Also, your natal partile Mars-Saturn 180 falls tightly on this SLR Asc-Dsc axis partile cnj SLR Pluto. This Feb 14th SLR times when secondary progressed SSR Moon is almost exact cnj your Solar Saturn. Transiting Saturn is partile cnj your Natal Venus. If you are to lose your Mother to poor health, this will more likely be the time when this life event would take place, but please understand we never actually know what event(s) will manifest the symbolism, only our psychological reactions to the planetary symbolism.

Sometimes we can gleam important symbolism with the sign the SSR Moon occupies according to Jim’s SSR teachings. SSR Moon is in Libra and Libra sways Venus symbolism and your Solar Sun is partile cnj SSR Venus indicating a personal Venus situation/symbolism with this SSR--solar Moon symbolism is so important as Jim teaches. If you can get through your Feb 14th SLR without any major damage as a malefic main life event, I then think the partile SSR Moon-Jupiter 90 will begin to manifest to improve malefic psychological influences. Regardless, we still expect this SSR Moon-Jupiter to manifest and Jupiter partile 90 Asc. Stay strong with a prepared conscious to these malefic planetary influences—which as a learning astrologer I am sure you will, and keep us posted for Sidereal Astrology learning purposes.

Thank you very much Steve for everything you wrote. And thank you for explaining it so masterfully thorough. It really helps to do it step by step and I clearly see the pattern now. With this awareness I will have less fear and this will guide me through the SLR of Feb 14th in a better way. Also with Saturn angular I will pick my manifestation and live accordingly so it can certainly be a good year as well I hope.
Would you have a clue of how SSR Sun in Libra conjuct SSR Venus would manifest? I understand it is quite a "narcissistic" aspect. Does that mean that one becomes selfish? Or that one gets attention, asks it?

In the context of your 2014 SSR I would not expect Venus partile cnj your Sun to manifest as a “narcissistic” aspect, but I don’t know the actual life priorities/objectives within your current environment. I interrupt your partile Sun-Venus in your 2014 SSR as having something to do with a Sun (personal) Venus (love) relationship, and then when I note you receive a partile cnj transit of Saturn to your Natal Venus in your solar year, then again, this indicates to me certain relationship issues, maybe, with your Mother (a Venus love relationship). I interrupt your partile Sun-Venus conjunction in your SSR as manifesting with something to do with mundo Saturn partile cnj your SSR Asc cnj solar Moon which is the main ‘theme’ for your solar year.

Oct 25, 2015

Today my new SSR started and I thought I'd give an update about the SSR year that has just finished. Thank you Steve for your comments last year.
It was a good year despite t.Saturn being exact on the Asc together with the t. Moon. T. Saturn partile conjunct r. Mercury was the main theme. And to a lesser degree but quite noticeable t. Nep conjunct r. Venus. T.Jupiter was also angular.

Things at work went quite well, my reports were positive and I received good feedback. In that way it was succesful and I received promotion.
What I did experience as much more difficult were the heavy schedules and long work hours. The 28 hours a week I worked felt like 70 hours a week, that describes it quite well. Demanding schedules and claiming me during my days off. Tiring. And left little time for planning my social life well.

My mother is doing a lot better despite her health issues. She lives in the country side and has many people helping her with practical things which lifts the pressure to have to go there all the time. In that way there is a lot of relief. We did talk all the time this year about whether she would move and sell the property and she waits until a much liked new aged care development is approved.

What did stand out the last SSR year was my Libra Stellium. I experienced my environment as gentle, loving, supportive, non aggressive and I felt I was living my Sun in Libra much more this SSR year. I felt calm and peaceful. This could also be due to the partile Sun-Venus aspect as well as t. Sun to r. Venus. Although neither were angular.

It was a serious and busy (r. Mercury) year. My concentration was good, I had very little anxiety. Also, I demanded elbow room and freedom. (r. Uranus) This was quite evident. I didn't care for much romanticism, attachments, except for perhaps something unavailable, out of reach, something Utopian.

Regards,
Florence
