Unusual Incoming Phone Stock Tips Today

Post by SteveS »

Jim, today from two seperate individuals I rarely hear from I got two very unusual Stock Tips.
1: 3:09 PM
2: 4:31 PM
When you have time would you do your Horary type analysis on these two times? Thanks

Starting with my caveat that there is no reliable evidence this astrological approach works, here is what you requested:

This one is terribly interesting just as an event chart, since its Ascendant is only 0°01' from your natal Ascendant (meaning also that your Jupiter was setting when you got this tip). As a first impression, at the very least it indicates a very strong connection to you personally triggering your lucky Jupiter.

Looking at the chart for this time on its own, today is a complicated Jupiter day since Mars exactly squares Jupiter in space (0°13' at the time of this tip). This is complicated because it's usually taken as adverse for money matters, though mostly this is because it is enthusiastic, risk-taking, uncautious, eager to leap into spending or investing - it's entrepreneurial and bold, winning (when it wins) because it wasn't afraid to make a move. Today is also the day of an exact Mercury-Neptune square, which is not good for financial decisions. At the very least, in any business matters today (or, actually, any matters at all), one needs to be sure of one's sources, of their honesty, and of the accuracy of the information. Before we get to this specific chart, today is frankly a day to watch out for criminal activity. Add to this: Moon at Midheaven is exactly square Mars in mundo, so there is an emotional need to make abrupt moves. (Add Uranus on EP. The whole chart screams an inner need to leap first and think later, which usually isn't the best strategy.)

Focusing more on horary thinking, rising Aries is consistent with the question (financial matters, the roller-coaster of business). Moon is in Capricorn on Midheaven, in the 10th house, putting focus on matters that are extremely public and exposed. All the financial, property, and gambling-risking houses are empty, with nothing to say at all, one way or the other (neither a good sign nor a bad sign; I'd take it to mean that finance, property, and gambling-risking aren't the main point of the question, as if it has another meaning to you, e.g., an intellectual intrigue or a relationship that needs nurturing).

Separating aspects, suggesting the recent past, don't show a lot of reliability. Those aside, the single most important signal is that Moon's next aspect is a conjunction with Saturn in Capricorn, applying by 4°. I have to read this as a bad sign that will come to fruition in four units of time - timing depends on what is appropriate to the circumstances, either in four days, four weeks, or four months.

With that in place, and reading back everything I wrote above as preamble, I have to say this will lead to a loss, probably due to secret matters that have not yet been disclosed. (Moon's next aspect will be a ripening square to Uranus in 12H [secrets], 2 units of time later than the Moon-Saturn matures).
2: 4:31 PM
Starting with the general remarks on the day - the need for care etc. from the day's partile aspects - I nonetheless say that this is a much better chart. (I haven't decided yet a final ruling, but first impression is excellent.)

Transiting Jupiter shines at Midheaven. It's close to square your natal Jupiter, but natal Jupiter is past the orb of its own angularity. This would seem an unconditionally good chart were it not for the condition of the exact Mars-Jupiter square. So: First impression is quite good, and Mars-Jupiter probably speaks to enthusiasm and willingness to risk, but Mars-Jupiter might mean it costs you. Let's go on...

My next caution involves Taurus rising. It has seemed to me that, in broad astrological symbolism, the rising sign at the time of a question needs to match the tone and nature of the question to show an alignment with emerging energies. Aries rising for Tip #1 was quite fitting for business, finance, and the roller-coaster of investment. Taurus rising (Tropical mistakes aside) has nothing to do with these topics. With the information you've given me, I can't validate that this horary chart is valid to read. However, if you see a clear Taurus correspondence to the matter (e.g., the company has a clear connection to Venus, Moon, cattle, or something else you easily relate to Taurus), you can validate that the chart likely is clicked into the question.

While Mars-Jupiter is active in both charts, this one is Jupiter at the top, Mars secondary, while the other was Moon-Mars with an angular Moon-Saturn, and the Jupiter secondary or tertiary. This is the better chance, and it has a bit of luck with it.

In fact, the strongest aspect is the 0°46' Sun-Jupiter mundane square (instead of the other chart's Moon-Mars mundane square). Mercury is also involved with Sun-Jupiter. These are prosperous aspects with good business underpinnings.

We still have Moon applying to conjoin Saturn - it's closer now, 3° wide, so would ripen in three units of time. This maturing aspect still warrants caution. But the closer aspect, coming to fruition much sooner, is the Sun-Jupiter.

I can confidently say (1) the entire day warrants caution and (2) this second tip came at a clearly more auspicious time than the first tip. There is risk involved, but the margins are better. If you are looking for a slam-dunk, this isn't it; but if you're looking for a risk worth taking, I can give it a qualified endorsement.

While writing all of this, I had the idea that my words would mean more to you - based on other information you already have - than they mean to me, and would put you in a better place to make your own decision.

Exactly Jim! And you nailed how I felt about Tip # 1 vs Tip # 2. I am very intriqued; how long have you being doing this type analysis? Do you do it for yourself in your daily life? It appears to me it could be a means for rapid and fairly reliable analysis. How long did it take you to do this post/analysis? Knowing me and my life style, what would you suggest for me how to use/test this type analysis between you and my questions? When I think I see something that may be important for me do I note the time the thought entered my mind and then ask for your analysis? It seems to be a means of doing Sidereal Astrology Horary--right?

I started it here with the first post in which I tried it. I'd have to search around to find that.
Do you do it for yourself in your daily life?
No, I never think to do it :)

10 minutes? 15?
Knowing me and my life style, what would you suggest for me how to use/test this type analysis between you and my questions? The rules of horary state that a question entering the mind doesn't count. Someone has to ask it outright - either aloud or, e.g., I'll take the minute someone posts a question on the forum (since we have the time stamp of the post. I think the underlying point is that something has to be born, has to emerge into the world. I've tried it in the past for myself when I simply think of a question, and it doesn't work - nothing got born.

It does seem a kind of Sidereal horary. Horary purists would disagree, btw. My view is that horary astrology shouldn't be separate from any other kind of astrology. I am more elastic - using a couple of forms of analysis that I don't routinely use (such as house positions, and drawing a difference between applying and separating aspects). The latter makes a kind of sense: We are caught at a moment when the querant has indeed experienced some patterns that already came and went, others that are building, and it's not unreasonable these would be felt subconsciously even though they don't seem meaningful in any way I know in birth charts etc. I absolutely refuse to use house rulerships or "house transposition" (e.g., counting houses from one house to show things in relationship to it, such as 11th as 2nd from 10th means father's money), but I'll use house placements. The mental process, once launched, is more stream of consciousness like a Tarot reading, so, despite starting with solid astrological foundations, it may be at least partly astromancy instead of astrology.

The rough approach is:

First, look at the chart as a chart - an event chart. That is, don't be foolish and overlook immediately useful information from astrology we know works fine, e.g., aspects and angularities at the time, immediate and obvious transits, natal planets crossing angles. Extract this information and then clear your mind and start over.

Filter the chart: Look at the Ascendant sign in a broad sense to see if it conforms to the nature of the question. The relationship may be wide, but should be clear. If this isn't a match, and there isn't something else overwhelmingly clear about the chart that matches the subject of the question, consider not reading the chart.

Look at Moon's house as a theme. It should reflect where a great deal of focus is at the time of the question. Sometimes it will clarify what the real question is when something more fundamental is behind the original question.

Identify the house corresponding to the question and read its portents (planets in it and their aspects). In the case above, all four possibilities were empty: 2H and 8H as liquid money houses, 4H as real property and some kinds of investment, 5H for speculation. It's better, when you can, to make up your mind in advance what the right house would be.

Use the five Ptolemaic aspects only, and with generous orbs (say, Class 2: you want a lot of aspects to help lay out details in your story). Consider them in three groups: Partile aspects represent right now, immediate conditions, strongest influences. Separating aspects show conditions of the past - you may not know all of these, but the story shouldn't be too wrong or misleading if you're going to trust the chart. Applying aspects are extremely important, because they show the information you want, what's going to happen. Separating and applying aspects represent time flowing outward from the present moment, i.e., smaller orbs show recent past or immediate future, wider orbs show more distant past or future. (You can line them up in order of orb.)

There are complex horary rules that you can find in old books that claim to determine whether the time period (number of degrees of an aspect) represent hours, days, weeks, months, or years. (Raphael's horary book has nice table IIRC, if you're interested.) I've dispensed with this and fallen to the simpler idea that 1° of orb means 1 unit of time - and what kind of unit will make sense from the question itself.

OK. Most of the time in my life specific astrological things will enter my mind, usually upon waking. I immediately go to Solarfire to calculate Sidereal Astrology charts. If I wanted to check my conclusions with your style of horary, do I note the time with the transit chart that was automactically calculated and send this time to you for your horary analysis? I know absolutely nothing about horary except for the rules you wrote in the last post.

If you can discern the exact moment the question emerged, use that time.

Got it, I want to experiment more with your style of horary when you have time.
