October 10,1918, with the town of Cloquet, MN hit hardest. No time is available for the start of the fire but, by 6:00 PM, a formal warning was issued that "unless the wind died down the townspeople would have to flee." This seems a reasonable time to mark as the crisis point. (Capsolar Mars set at 6 PM when the announcement came.)

The fire was started by sparks from a train on a nearby railroad. 452 people died, 52,000 were injured or displaced, 38 communities were destroyed, and 250,000 acres were burned.
