Yesterday, the city of Detroit filed for financial protection and reorganization in the largest instance of a city bankruptcy in American history, and the largest single bankruptcy filing in our history.
The filing occurred July 18, 2013, 4:06 PM EDT, Detroit, MI. (Thanks for the time, Derek.)
I had anticipated an economically destabilizing event approximately Wednesday, based on the precise Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune grand trine on a day that Neptune crossed a Cansolar Quotidian angle for Washington and the Saturn=culminating Liblunar. Because Saturn was prominent with the Sun, I anticipated it would be a Saturn event for the President; I'd have been more accurate if I'd said "government," especially since it was a government that filed for bankruptcy.
That charts for Washington are discussed elsewhere, and were set up nicely (including the new Canlunar a day earlier). Let's look at the picture for Detroit...

Re: Detroit bankruptcy filing
Year: Capsolar
Uranus on the Midheaven 1°08'. Sun setting 0°20'. Mercury on the other side of the Descendant 2°59'. Mercury-Uranus mundane square 1°51'. -- Change, shake-up, something explosive and destabilizing affecting a solar figure (mayor, government per se). Though I wouldn't have daught it in advance, the Mercury-Sun-Uranus has a feel of commerce, administrative functions, efforts at industry being confronted (for good or bad) with Uranus stuff.
(What a waste. It could have been an inventive, ingenious new "green" auto concept.)
Quarter: Cansolar
Occurred one day earlier. Mars 0°28' above the Ascendant. Jupiter 2°03' below the Ascendant. (Mars-Jupiter conjunction is 2°31' in mundo, 2°15' in eclipto.) Neptune is 4°02' west of the MC. Pluto is barely foreground at 9°05' above the horizon. The Moon-Saturn mundane conjunction is 1°00' wide for Detroit (whereas it is much wider ecliptically).
Basically, Mars-Jupiter is healthy, vital, indulgent, gusto, and usually manifests with money burning its way all through your pocket.
Month: Caplunar
Jupiter squared the MC 1°16'. (They are, after all, seeking protection.)
Fortnight: Canlunar
Yikes! Nasty, in a "devastating loss" sort of way.
Saturn is stationary and 0°18' from the Midheaven. Pluto looks partile to Ascendant ecliptically, but is actually 2°43' above Ascendant. (The Saturn-Pluto mundane square is 2°25'.) Mercury is 1°38' above the Descendant (1°56' from mundane square the Saturn).
Week: Liblunar
Saturn 1°05' above the Descendant.
Day: Capsolar Quotidian
CapQ MC 14°25' Virgo is squared by transiting and ingress Pluto.
