I find it strange that I was never attracted to this Virgo-Aquarian's music but, well, that's how it goes. It's a powerful nativity, it's angularities being:

Moon on EP 0°00'
Pluto on Dsc 0°10'
Saturn on Dsc 2°14'
Jupiter on Zenith 1° 31' [on Moon's south node]

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is close enough ecliptically and a bigger deal mundanely. Perhaps the last degree of Capricorn rising is important, identifying him thematically with his most commercially successful Hell-themed work.

I haven't seen anything about where he died, so there is no looking at his return charts. By transit, Pluto was square his Mercury, he was nearing a half Saturn cycle (with Saturn not quite opposite his Pluto), and Jupiter was within a degree of his EP-a. Mars opposed his Uranus Sagittarius-to-Gemini today, so probably triggered whatever was the terminal crisis, perhaps pulmonary. It's a good guess that when we get a death location, Saturn to his Pluto will be on return angles.

He had a progressed Moon-Mars square at death (about 35'). This is the most acute thing happening.

I still don't see news on where he died but, tracing back, it seems the last place he identified as his residence was in Calabasas, CA. If he was still here, then his SSR's closest angularity was natal Mars on WP-a, opposed by transiting Pluto. No matter where he lived, his SSR had a partile Moon-Neptune conjunction.

For Calabasas, his January 6 SLR had transiting Mars and Neptune moderately angular and his exact (0°06') Venus-Neptune conjunction exactly at MC. The main foreground transiting activity was Mars partile square his Sun (mundanely, half a degree).

The January 21 Demi-SLR had Moons within a degree of EP-WP, with Jupiter conjunct natal Moon. This isn't at all the chart I'd expect, though the general Jupiter transit to his Moon during this time likely will (as usually happens) cause his music to surge in sales, selling more than at any time in his life.

I'm not sure this was the right location, but that's the best I can do in the absence of real information.

All I have on Jim Steinman is born Nov 1, 1947 in NYC, died April 19, 2021, but he and Meat would make an interesting sysastry study. They were pretty volatile, I think.
