U.S.-China climate deal

Post by Jim Eshelman »

At 7:47 PM PST, both NY Times and LA Times broke the news that the United States and China, after prolonged secret negotiations, have reached a deal to team up with what NY Times calls, "an ambitious joint plan to curb carbon emissions as a way to spur nations around the world to make their own cuts in greenhouse gases." The U.S. and Chinese presidents announced this jointly in Beijing.

I'm going to use the breaking news time, for now, as the event time. The announcement must have been only a few minutes earlier. The deal was concluded and announced in Beijing, so that seems the primary locations, with Washington secondary.

For Beijing...

PRECIS
Solar: Moon (Mercury, Venus). Moon-Mercury.
Lunar: Uranus, Pluto (Mars). Moon-Mercury, Uranus-Pluto.
Day: Mercury. Moon-Uranus.

Year: Capsolar
The Capsolar is dormant. It has the close Moon-Jupiter-Pluto aspects for everywhere in the world.

Half year: Cansolar
Moon on Asc (0°47')
Moon-Mercury square (1°09')
Venus on IC (4°09')
Mercury on IC (8°54')

Quarter: Libsolar
Mercury square MC (0°19')
Sun on WP (0°30')
Venus on WP (1°44')
Moon-Jupiter conjunction (0°08' in mundo)
Moon-Saturn square (1°12')
Sun-Venus conjunction (0°13' in mundo)
A Mercury trend was developing - news flash only, no diplomatic substance - and I was wondering where the Jupiter, especially Moon-Jupiter and Q Jupiter, would emerge - this has been typical of diplomatic victories in the past. Therefore, it's fascinating to see Moon-Jupiter in the Mundoscope - location specific - trump the ecliptical Moon-Saturn square shared by the world.

Month: Caplunar
Jupiter on WP (0°30')
Saturn on MC (2°40')
Sun square Asc (2°42')

Week: Arilunar
Moon-Mercury opposition (0°15')
Pluto on Dsc (1°05')
Uranus square Asc (1°04')
-- Uranus-Pluto square (1°57')
Mars on Dsc (7°12')

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits
CapQ Asc conj. CapQ Mercury (0°58')
t. Uranus square Capsolar Moon (0°43')
The Uranus transit has been ongoing for weeks, and surely has been behind the negotiation process. If this agreement is as breakthrough as it is being represented to be, this transit may be the defining, overarching aspect of the whole event.

Day: Cansolar Quotidian
CanQ EP conjunct s. Sun (0°05')
CanQ MC square CanQ Jupiter (0°19')
t. Pluto square CanQ Moon (1°00') [first day it's been in orb]

SUMMARY
Year: (Dormant). Moon-Jupiter-Pluto.
Half year: Moon (Mercury, Venus). Moon-Mercury.
Quarter: Sun, Mercury, Venus. Moon-Jupiter, Moon-Saturn, Sun-Venus.
Month: Jupiter, Saturn (Sun).
Week: Uranus, Pluto (Mars). Moon-Mercury, Uranus-Pluto.
Day (Capsolar): Mercury (CapQ). Moon-Uranus (transit to Capsolar).
Day (CanQ): Sun, Jupiter. Moon-Pluto.

For Washington November 11, 10:47 PM EST)...

PRECIS
Solar: Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto (Venus, Uranus). Moon-Jupiter-Pluto, Venus-Mars, Uranus-Pluto.
Lunar: Jupiter (Sun, Venus). Sun-Venus.
Day: Venus, Jupiter, Saturn. Jupiter-Saturn.

Year: Capsolar
The chart is loaded (as we've noted all year), and boils down to:
Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto (Venus, Uranus).
Moon-Jupiter-Pluto, Venus-Mars, Uranus-Pluto.

Half year: Cansolar
The Cansolar is dormant. Moon squares Mercury (1°09).

Quarter: Libsolar
Pluto on IC (1°44')
Uranus on Dsc (5°29')
-- Uranus-Pluto square (2°56')
Moon-Saturn square (1°12')

Month: Caplunar
Jupiter on Asc (0°08') [It's the diplomatic mission! This was bigger for Washington than the election, in some ways.]
Venus (4°18') & Sun (5°53') on IC
Sun-Venus conjunction (1°15')

Week: Arilunar
The Arilunar is dormant, but with a Moon-Mercury opposition (0°15').

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits
CapQ Asc conj. t. Jupiter (0°44'), sq. s. Saturn (0°38'), sq. t. Venus (1°57')
-- t. Jupiter sq. s. Saturn (0°06')
(Washington loves Jupiter for diplomacy, and here it is shown playing politics, addressing economic matters, and broadly "righting a wrong." Probably also some face-saving.)
-------------------------------
t. Uranus square s. Moon (0°43'), square s. MC (1°00')
t. Mars op. s. MC (1°43')

Day: Cansolar Quotidian 283 29
CanQ EP conj. s. Pluto (0°44'), t. Pluto (1°04'), t. Mars (0°15')
CanQ MC op. t. Uranus (1°30'), s. Uranus (0°52'), midpoint (0°19')
t. Pluto square CanQ Moon (1°00')

SUMMARY
Year: Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto (Venus, Uranus). Moon-Jupiter-Pluto, Venus-Mars, Uranus-Pluto.
Half year: (Dormant.) Moon-Mercury.
Quarter: Pluto (Uranus). Moon-Saturn, Uranus-Pluto.
Month: Jupiter (Sun, Venus). Sun-Venus.
Week: (Dormant.) Moon-Mercury.
