Typhoon Hagupit

Post by Jim Eshelman »

The Philippines was hit by a bad typhoon today. A few facts: Thousands of people in shelters. 21 deaths reported yet. About 1,000 homes destroyed. Hundreds of thousands evacuated as a precaution. Flooding. Winds 60 mph, expected to lose some punch as it heads towards Manila. (More details if they become available.)

Its effect centered on ("targeted") Legazpi. Initial landfall was 9:15 PM with 127 mph winds (108 mph sustained winds), near Dolores. Probably Manila is the best location astrologically (treating this as a national event). BTW, landfall coincided with Mars on WP in Manila.

PRECIS
Solar: Moon, Mercury (Venus, Uranus, Pluto). Moon-Mercury, Ve/Ur, Ve/Pl, Uranus-Pluto.
Lunar: Mercury, Venus (Sun, Jupiter, Saturn). Sun-Saturn, Venus-Jupiter.
Day: Venus, Mars. Moon-Sun.

Year: Capsolar
Dormant, but with the Moon-Jupiter-Pluto aspects we've seen all year. Mercury is the most angular planet, and we've repeatedly seen this for wind, but I don't want to push that too much.

Half-Year: Cansolar
Moon-Mercury square (1°09')
-- Mercury IC (0°01')
-- Moon rising (1°12')
Again, the implication is wind. But notice the following set of planets:

Uranus (Asc 8°18')
Pluto (MC 8°26')
Venus (IC 7°43')
-- Uranus-Pluto square (0°08' in mundo)
-- Ve/Ur (0°18') & Ve/PL (0°22') on angles
Expectation from these aspects is primarily "tearing the house down," mixed with pyrotechnics, explosions, radical changes in relationships to home and loved ones, etc.

Quarter: Libsolar
Sun sq. MC (1°15')
Moon-Saturn square (1°12')
Venus widely foreground (8°06', Dsc)

Month: Caplunar
Dormant.

Week: Arilunar
Dormant. - But Jupiter 6° off MC is close enough to be a preeminent rain signal.

By flow-through, the operative (most recent non-dormant) lunar ingress was the November 19 Liblunar. Primarily it is a weather chart, showing significant precipitation and rain, with implication of damage and government intervention:
Mercury sq. Asc (0°21')
Venus on MC (2°52')
Jupiter setting (4°00')
Sun on MC (7°50'), Saturn on MC (8°52')
Venus-Jupiter sq (1°08' in mundo)
Sun-Saturn conj (1°02' in mundo)

Day: Capsolar Quotidian & Transits
CapQ Moon op. s. Sun (0°24')
CapQ MC conj. t. Venus (0°19')
---------------------------------------
t. Mars conj. s. MC (0°44')

Day: Cansolar Quotidian
CanQ IC conj. t. Saturn (0°41')
t. Pluto sq. CanQ Moon (0°45')
CanQ EP conj. t. Jupiter (1°09')

SUMMARY
Year: (Dormant.) Moon-Jupiter-Pluto.
Half-year: Moon, Mercury (Venus, Uranus, Pluto). Moon-Mercury, Ve/Ur, Ve/Pl, Uranus-Pluto.
Quarter: Sun (Venus). Moon-Saturn.
Month: (Dormant.)
Week: (Dormant.)
Week (Liblunar by flow-through): Mercury, Venus (Sun, Jupiter, Saturn). Sun-Saturn, Venus-Jupiter.
Day (Capsolar): Venus, Moon-Sun (CapQ). Mars (transits to Capsolar).
Day (CanQ): Jupiter, Saturn. Moon-Pluto.

Updated death count. News reports now say "late Saturday," so the Qs may be 24 hours off, but I';m so far expecting a dateline confusion.
