Crazy Day in LA

Post by Jim Eshelman »

First thing this morning, a water main broke in the Hollywood Hills, flooding the neighborhood, submerging cars in an underground parking garage, and causing various problems. LA Times reported this at 6:25 AM this morning. My first thought on seeing it was that I know LA is under a Neptune influence for the year, and that was probably an expression of it.

Then, at 10:09 AM, LA Times reported that a large explosion occurred somewhat earlier in the morning at the Exxon Mobil refinery in Torrance (essentially Los Angeles). My first thought was that this was an unusual one-two punch for the day - we should see something in the daily timing. (My second thought is that we're still at about the midpoint of Uranus and Pluto transiting CanQ Moon.)

So, what did the charts show?

CAPSOLAR. As I mentioned, Neptune is angular, in this case 0°02' from IC (!). It is joined in the foreground by Saturn and Mars, with midpoint on the angles. This is a malefic concentration for the year, and fits today's double-banger.

CAPLUNAR. Ah, here we go! - Mars is 0°25' from square MC, and 0°17' from Ascendant. Venus is also 0°44' from Ascendant on the other side.

CAPSOLAR QUOTIDIAN. CapQ MC opposed Capsolar Uranus, square Pluto. (Explosive, plus the unusual commotion.)

CANSOLAR QUOTIDIAN. As mentioned, Uranus and Pluto exactly aspect (conjoin and square, respectively) CanQ Moon. Add to that a little token of fire: t. Sun conj. CanQ Ascendant, while (a little token of flood & general confusion) CanQ EP is conjunct ingress, progressed, and transiting Neptunes.

Definitely not a good Capsolar for a mild wildfire season in Southern California.

Also no buses. Trains in both directions have been canceled because there are not enough buses to carry passengers around the wreck.

ETA: Oxnard police are saying 5:44 AM. The truck caught fire. Three train cars overturned.

EATA: The train was equipped with new technology that directs energy outward rather than inward, so train cars don't crumple on impact. Looks like it worked.
Truck driver left truck and survived. Not much left of truck. Driver was arrested because he "left the scene." (Well yeah, there was a train chasing him....)

Continuing on that ugly Capsolar for general LA region.

For Oxnard, the Caplunar has Venus only 0°01' from rising, Mars 0°55' on the other side. Possibly related to no deaths, but it's hardly a happy, fun-filled day in Oxnard.

And then, with the Caplunar having Venus and Mars precisely rising, the Arilunar replicated this. Venus is 0°20', and Mars 0°47', above Ascendant (conjoined within 0°27'). Add a little foreground Uranus to the mix to make this one more volatile than the week before (< 6° below Asc).

To time the day, the CapQ has t. Pluto 0°40' from EP. But... oh, this is even better... Remember that Capsolar with Neptune partile conjunct the IC? It got triggered this morning:

s. IC 10°11'Aquarius
t. Sun 10°40' Aquarius
s. Neptune 10°50' Aquarius
(Squared by t. Saturn at 9°42' Scorpio.)

We don't need the CanQ after all that, but, since I had it calculated: CanQ Asc is 11°35' Aquarius! The lineup is same planets, different emphasis:

t. Sun 10°40' Aquarius
p. Asc 11°36' Aquarius
s. Neptune 12°16' Aquarius
t. Neptune 12°16' Aquarius

Transiting Neptune had returned to the minute of arc to its Cansolar position, and was right on the CanQ Ascendant. The midpoint of t. Su/Ne is 11°27', only 9' from the quotidian angle.
