Chicago had quite the gruesome weekend, with seven killings in two days, one of which was a 7-year old boy.
I had already cited the Mars-Uranus window we were in for a few days, and expected explosions, fires, and violence, though not localized to any particular place. What localized it to Chicago?
It wasn't wasn't the new Caplunar, which had an 8' Venus-Jupiter conjunction about 2° from Descendant. This is about as close to giving the opposite expectation as we could get.
But, even with that, the CanQ IC spent the weekend passing through Saturn. This collaborates with general Mars-Uranus expectations, though I'm shocked it picked a locale which was so beautifully, beneficially graced as Chicago was for this weekend.

Meanwhile, in Potiskum, Nigeria, explosions from a suicide bomber slew at least 20 people in a church on Sunday. Of course, Boko Haram was likely at the helm.
Again, the new Caplunar wasn't implicated. It has only Mercury angular. But the season is predictably violent, with the Arisolar for Potiskum having Mars 2° from Ascendant (in Aries, at that).
The general tone was represented by the Mars and Uranus transits to Cansolar and progressed Cansolar Moon, respectively. This time, though, transiting Mars was conjunct the CapQ Midheaven as well.

Re: violent weekend (Mars + Uranus)
Well, and when it comes to shocking defiance, the news media insists (as, for example, one CNN headline stated it) that the Greek vote shocked Europe - turning down Europe's offers of new financial terms. I can't imagine why that was shocking but, presuming the news media assessments are correct, it just goes to show that Uranus and Mars were on the job. People were going to have the experience of being "blown away."
But, then, with Uranus exactly square the Athens Ascendant in the new Caplunar, you didn't expect them to be unsurprising, did you? (Good thing I wasn't predicting. I probably would have correctly assessed that Greece would shock the world on Sunday, and then, based on that, predicted that they would have voted to accept the deal - because that's the only thing that would have been shocking to me.) Pluto near Caplunar Descendant probably is a signal of Greece being in the process of separating itself from the EU.
Uranus was also on the CapQ WP. As Gomer Pyle used to say, "Sooprise, sooprise, sooprise!"

Let’s see if the DOW puts on a weekly reversal this week—if so, we may have seen a major bottom for the year.
