Relocating 2022 SSR

Post by Lyse »

Hi all,

Been lurking for 4 years and thinking maybe it’s time to officially register and participate. :)

I’m in the final stages of deciding where to spend my 2022 SSR. Not thrilled with my Montreal location which features a partile t. Pluto sq MC and a close Sun opposite Pluto (mundo) and natal Neptune on MC.

Birthdate: July 21, 1955
2:38 pm
Montreal Ouest, QC

Wanting to move during the year out of the province, hopefully trouble free as possible.

At the moment, I’m considering relocating the SSR to Sackville, New Brunswick. My reasoning, Jupiter on the Nadir at 0°41’ and Venus 2°52’ from the DSC. They are square at 3°57’, not particularly close but under 5°. Basically, trying to strengthen the Venus so it’s under 3° from DSC with Jupiter as close to the nadir as possible. Another location, Oxford, Nova Scotia which will place Jupiter at 0°01 on the Nadir and Venus 3°21’ from the DSC.

Any thoughts on either location or possibly another would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lyse, a belated welcome! - Your logic on the SSR location seems quite good to me. Let me dig a bit for you.

Are you intent on staying in Canada? Or is travel south of the border an option? Venus setting line runs through coastal New England (near Portland and Boston), through Virginia Beach on the coast of Virginia, and through Florida. And, of course, through northern New Brunswick. (Solar Fire's maps aren't good at listing towns up there, but comparing the SF map to Google Maps makes it easier. It looks, at a glance, that the exact crossing might be near Bathhurst, etc. (I can check exactly if that becomes a target.)

The Jupiter line is harder to nab. It's farther east, slicing through Nova Scotia. Here's the Jupiter line (it doesn't touch any land in the States)

Here's the Venus line:

I think getting away from natal Neptune is a good idea - to give you more of a sense of control and intentionality in your life - unless you're involved directly i Neptune ventures.

If you see anything here that attracts you, I can fine tune the calculations.

PS - Do you have Mike's free TMSA software yet?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Jim, thank you for your response.

Anywhere within driving distance from Montreal is fine, Boston and Maine are doable. I’m a novice at best here with this being the second time relocating a SSR. Last year, I placed Mercury at 0*00’ on the MC and basically haven’t shut up. Lesson learned. :D Therefore, I’ll go with anything you suggest.

No, have not downloaded TMSA software, will do.

Portland, Maine has Venus exactly angular. - OTOH you seem uncomfortable with the Pluto. (I don't see it as a problem, I live under it nearly every year for decades.) For your reference, here are the foreground planet breakdowns from TMSA for Portland and Boston:

r Venus on Dsc -9°30'
r Sun on WP-a -2°13'
r Uranus on WP-a -2°06'

r Mercury on MC -6°09'
t Pluto on EP-a -0°45'
--------------------------
t Venus on Dsc +0°11'

r Neptune on MC +6°18'

Noteworthy are that Pluto op r Sun is 0°49' in mundo. Also mundane aspects, Moon squares natal Mars and Jupiter (Jupiter slightly closer), though Moon opposite your Saturn (ecliptical, everywhere on Earth) is the strongest Moon aspect.

For Boston:

r Venus on Dsc -9°31'
r Mercury on Dsc -6°06'
t Pluto on EP-a -1°33'

---------------------------
t Venus on Dsc +0°25'
r Sun on WP +1°14'
r Uranus on WP +1°23'

r Neptune on MC -5°52'

(Same aspect details mentioned above.) I think (for myself) I like Boston better than Portland. The balance is better, it's more pure Venus, the Pluto is backed off, your Uranus comes a little closer to the MC square. Bug you have a lot of nice spots to pick from all these lines.

BTW, inland from Boston is even sharper on the Venus. The line (presuming your birth time is exactly right) passes through Lowell and Chelmsford, MA, down through about Marlborough and near Webster, if you want to draw a line on a map. As you can tell, Boston itself has Venus quite strong; these other places have it a little stronger.

That’s great, I had looked at those areas and it was Pluto on the EP that made me hesitate. With the t. Pluto op r Sun it felt magnified. It doesn’t make much sense really as looking back I’ve almost always had Pluto on an angle somewhere, someplace. Even transits to my Sun and Ascendant worked out very well. They were intense but propelled me to a much better place emotionally.

Will take your suggestion and head closer to Boston. My birth time is fairly accurate I believe. Thanks again!

As an example, here are the planetary strengths for Marlborough, MA. The Pluto is softened (75% is the cut-off of foreground).

Thank you and so happy that I finally posted. Going back and revisiting the NB locations, it became clear that wasn’t the place to relocate the SSR.
