Madonna

Post by Jim Eshelman »

In response to a recent request, here is Madonna's horoscope from birth records:

Image

In a case where "She musta surely known her Tropical chart," a TZ Leo Sun and Virgo Moon give the images for the iconic "Like a Virgin" Lion & Virgin video that put her over the top - and this girl definitely loves her cats with the Moon actually rising in the constellation Leo. But those familiar with Sidereal sign meanings will have no difficulty recognizing the Cancer Sun and Leo Moon is this alternately acute business woman and hungry lust-pot who is always ready for her close-up!

A few quick observations besides the Cancer-Leo emphasis: Angular Moons are the hallmark of pretty much every "media sexpot" for whom we have accurate birth data, from at least the WW II pin-up girls forward. But her single most angular planet spatially - actually less than a degree from the horizon - is that rising Mercury. When pop stars of the last 40 years are collated, and those that have strongly angular Mercuries are examined, the list reads like those who not only had popular success but whose works sprouted commercial empires. Madonna, clever and astute and, above all, a businesswoman, is at or near the top of that list.

The Pluto, surprisiingly, isn't very angular at all. Due to its considerable latitude (it is 11°23' above the ecliptic), it is nearly 7° from the Easpoint in RA, which doesn't count; and it's over 10° above the horizon. And moving to New York didn't inmprove that angular picture. (On the other hand, she has Jupiter angular on the West Coast, and has the Sun exactly on the Midheaven in London, near which she has made her home for many years.)

Could you provide some examples?

Again, examples please?

I don't have that list here at work (may not have the list written down anywhere accessible) but, just pulling from the chart file I have here on my laptop (and a crude search of Moon within 7° of ecliptical conjunction with the angles... rather than measuring actual angularity), I find Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Farah Fawcett, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Leigh... heck, even Germaine Greer did a popular nude poster that made the rounds! But either Fagan or Bradley documented quite a list from the '40s and '50s at some point.

Ken Irving did a cute bit in one of his early articles in which he tabulated these ladies and showed that their Moon-sign tended to show the style and image with which they got labelled, e.g., Bardot as "sex kitten" with a Taurus Moon. But he came down to Farah Fawcett (the latest poster rage when the article was written) with an angular Gemini Moon and couldn't think of a catch phrase until he thought of... "the Dry Look."

This is mentioned in my section on foreground Mercury on this forum http://solunars.net/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=19#p75 which I'll quote:

OBSERVATION: Quite a number of the most successful professional pop musicians (and some other similar entertainers) have foreground Mercury. Given their commercial success, I'm inclined to think it just shows keen business acumen. The group includes names like Madonna, Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, comedians of the like of Johnny Carson and Robin Williams, directors who know the business as well as Clint Eastwood and Robert Altman, as well as straight commercial figures like Rupert Murdoch. (These are just a few, but they're quite representative.)

randallnyc wrote:I knew Madonna in the very early 1980s when she living on a friend's sofa, and kept all of her possessions in a large brown suitcase. Think it was 1981. The friend was a fabric painter for a designer named Halston, and the apartment was in a downmarket part of town called Chelsea---hardly downmarket anymore. Insight into her personality: she was homeless, practically penniless yet had an arrogance about her but not in a defiant way. We visited the apartment to pick up the friend to go out, and this girl with her big suitcase was sitting on the sofa watching TV. She was not dressed to go out. Asked why, and she replied that the place (Dancetera) had a cover charge. It did, it was $5.00. Asked what she did, she replied music. Asked what kind. She replied, "Rock/Dance." Asked her if she thought Madonna was too-Christian sounding a name for that kinda music. She got all haughty and said No! I replied, "Well you are living on someone's sofa, and don't have five dollars to go out, so I guess it's working for you." Famous last words, eh?

Mars square Uranus can reverse themselves and get wild, mad, pound tables, bite the rug, break lamps & furniture, scream, and tyrade with a vengeance. They can smile and purr like a pussy cat while they mow down the Rose bushes. Real Crazy. Ohterwise wonderful dispositions. Also, Mars-Sun tend to live to a ripe old age, healthy, ambulatory, frisky, and fiesty. Like Ever-Ready Batteries; Lux, Sidereal Bob
