Robin Williams
Robin Williams was born July 21, 1951, 1:34 PM, in Chicago, IL, according to his birth certificate. (Chicago, always remember, is required by law to record births in standard time even when the city is on Daylight Saving Time.) He died today at 11:55 AM in Tiburon, CA, apparently by suicide by asphyxiation.
Robin was every bit of what you might expect from the in-your-face bombast of Cancer at his performance height, mixed with the electrical, unpredictable genius of an Aquarius Moon. One cannot ignore the power of charisma, shown here in part by the 19' Moon-Venus aspect; and it is connected to an explosive, nearly partile Mars-Uranus conjunction. The out-of-the-box where-does-that-stream-of-words come from his shown not only by the Aquarius Moon but by the close Mercury-Pluto conjunction at Midheaven.
Mundanely, Pluto is 0°29' from MC, with Mercury 0°08' on the other side. Their midpoint, therefore, is a mere 0°11' from MC.
In Northern California, where he lived and eventually died, Neptune was 0°19' from Ascendant, Jupiter less than 3° from Descendant, Mars and Uranus more widely near MC.

Re: Robin Williams
For his death...
TRANSITS
t. Pluto -180- r. Uranus (19')
t. Venus -0- r. Sun (16')
t. Mercury -0- r. Mercury (39'), -0- r. MC (47')
Additionally, Saturn had crossed his Ascendant not long ago, and was 4° past. This is important because Mars, on the other side of Ascendant, was 4° applying. Transiting Mars/Saturn midpoint was 24' from his Ascendant.
SSR
His recent SSR brought to the angles Neptune's transit to his natal Moon-Venus, a Neptune-Moon transit being one of the primary suicide indicators. (It was close enough to have power in the SSR foreground.) The SSR has a further (wide) Moon-Neptune square.
There were no transits of note to the SSR.
SLR
His new SLR was due to come in tonight at 10:23 PM, and I generally see these having a 24-hour lead. The new SLR has Uranus rising opposite his Neptune, and Pluto near MC opposite his Mars-Uranus.
This was pretty similar, in its main points, to his current SLR from July 15, which had Uranus setting and Pluto closely on IC. The July 29 Demi-SLR has Uranus exactly on IC, opposite his Neptune exactly on MC.
SECONDARY PROGRESSIONS (SNQ2)
p. Mercury -60- p. Uranus (28')
p. Mars -0- r. Mercury (21')
The SNQ angles only had two partile contact: Natal Jupiter and transiting Uranus on IC. These are planets of someone happily set free.
The Q1 had nothing on the angles and no exact lunar aspects.
His SQ had nothing on the angles.

Jim’s teaching’s has always taught me to look to our Moon’s pertaining to health, and we see Robin suffering from a depressed mental health. Ebertin has taught me a careful analysis of our direct midpoints involving our angles and lights will reveal other pertinent information about the life of a native. I notice Robin had a direct Saturn/MC=Moon (0,31). Ebertin says about this midpoint:I felt really bad when I heard that he committed suicide.... are there any indication in his chart of an addictive personality? I can't see anything remarkable.
Also Robin had a direct midpoint of Mercury/Saturn=Moon (0,27). So with these two direct midpoints involving the lights (Moon) and angles (MC), we can clearly see a very strong Pluto intensity with mundo Mercury/Pluto=MC. Also he was born with a partile Sun-Saturn 60. His lights were afflicted involving Saturn, one with a Saturn/MC=Moon--Me/Sat=Moon and the other with a partile Saturn aspect with his Sun. Saturn is par-excellent symbolism representing any kind of Depression. A very strange natal imprint considering Robin made a living as a comedian making other people laugh.Sadness or melancholy, a person depressed easily, an inclination to get into states of depression or psychoses.
*Direct Midpoints should only allow 1 degree or less orbs.

Re: Robin Williams
There isn't much - the addiction indicators are very slight: Mars in Gemini, Mercury on MC, Moon closely trine Mars.Freya wrote:are there any indication in his chart of an addictive personality?
I'm not really sure Robin was an addict. He had periods of excessive drug and alcohol use, but this isn't necessarily from addictiveness. For example, if a person were in unremitting physical pain and just kept taking more and more pain pills in an effort to find anything to stop the pain, we would be quite understanding of it, and this wouldn't necessarily be due to an addictive temperament. In Robin's case, I think he needed to have some means to stop thinking every now and then - to quiet the mind, to stop the unstoppable surge of neuron-firings.
He entered he Saturn or Ketu bhukti in August 2013 - IMO essentially a Saturn-Neptune influence. Had he lived to October, he'd have made it to Mercury of Ketu (Mercury-Neptune). His Ketu dasa began November 1, 2008.I would like to check his Vimshottary Dasa periods but I can't remember how Bradley calculated it.... any thoughts?

Yes, as planetary influences. Ketu periods (so-called) seem to be pure Neptune. Those attributed to Rahu seem Uranus-Pluto.

Robin's Saturn-S.Node seems to fit very well with the way he died unfortunately

Saturn in particular seems to have a prominent role in his chard from what I gather. Fellow comic Margaret Cho held that you shouldn't do comedy if you're actually a silly person who takes life lightly, a point she reinforced when speaking about Williams after he died.A very strange natal imprint considering Robin made a living as a comedian making other people laugh.

No clear idea. Not nearly enough work with them. I suppose it best to think of them as very long, underlying patterns, something like multi-year progressed aspects.Freya wrote:that's very interesting. Jim, how do you put them in context with the influences of the SSR? Are they as strong?
